Grosvenor Hotel  

it was very very dirty through out the hotel the roomwas discusting looks like it had not been cleaned for weeks

The staff were nice and tried to be helpful

The rooms were awful, dirty and dated. The bedding was stained (looked like blood), the carpets can't have seen a vacuum for weeks, the bedroom curtain was half hanging off the rail and had been tucked behind the curtain pole on one end leaving a wide gaping view into the room from outside. The false panels were loose and badly stained and the smoke alarm had been removed. The matresses were really worn and uncomfortable, they sagged in the middle so much so that it was like sleeping in a hammock. There were basic tea facilities but had to ask for a teaspoon, our friends had no milk. We were told that there was a £10 deposit for a tv remote but when we agreed to pay this they couldnt get the tv working - the man who spent 30 mins in our room messing with this said he would move us if he had another room but didnlt, even though when we were checking in, they offered a room to another guest who declined and walked out when hearing the price. Additionally, we paid £63 for a room whilst the guy on reception quoted the walk in £30per night! We had 1 drink in the bar downstairs, which frankly was more than enough. All the wine tasted the same (despite being in different bottles) and looked like it might have been open weeks if not months, there was also a very limited range on anything to hand, tho in fairness the guy did offer to go and fetch more supplies. All in all not a great experience, we spent the rest of the evening in another hotel's bar around the corner :(

The staff were very friendly, rooms were ready for us. After reading the bad reviews on here it was better than I expected. Yes the rooms need decorating and the curtains didn't hang properly but the beds were clean and comfortable.

my son and his partner had no loo roll i had no milk had wooden doors which looked like outside ones no parking and had to find nearby road very old bed coverings only 1 plug in room

They had rooms available at short notice (because no one would ever want to stay there)

The hotel was completely filthy, next time I go to Blackpool I will be more than happy to pay the extra to stay in a decent hotel! My friends and I are students and therefore don't expect much from cheap hotels and are accustomed to a lower standard of accommodation. However the Grosvenor took this to a whole new level that even we couldn't cope with! The toilet had been used and not flushed, causing the room to stink, stains all over the room, dirty cups and tea facilities, truly vile! When we arrived another customer was in tears after the manager had thrown his keys at her, we should have left at that point and I really wish we had. On top of all, that if you wanted the privilege of turning on the tiny, ancient tv in your room it cost you an additional £10. My final point would be that if a hotel has the room numbers hand written on with pen, just leave... We learnt the hard way.

Location.

Cleanliness exterior/ interior(compared to photos). Pay extra for breakfast(£5 pp) rooms very basic, unclean, dirty, broken window(won't close room 107). Wet bedding (changed on request room108). Broken bedside lamp fitting(room105) electrical hazard. No hair dryers in any rooms(as advertised). No tv remotes in any room(told to pay £10 per remote per room deposit). Room doors to corridor glass top half(painted to obscure view into room, however paint scratched so privacy compromised!!!).

The only thing I liked about the grosvenor hotel was it was close to the town centre!!!!

Everything. We had to change room because the first one was full of damp and smelt. The info on website said it was bed and breakfast but when we checked in they wanted extra £5 each if we wanted breakfast. The outside decor of the hotel was very dated and needed painting. The room decor was very basic and boring. There was no towels in the room and they wanted a deposit for the remote control for use of the tv. There was holes in the bed sheet and the mattress was 3/4 and didn't fill the frame!!!!! I will never ever stay at this hotel again!!!!

there were no towels in the room on arrival we had to ask for them, the room was very basic, it was dirty there was mold around the bath and shower i,ve stayed on camp sites that were cleaner, I dont how they past a Hotel inspection thats if they had one, we only stayed for one night it was just somewhere to get our head down after partying the night away, but if we had of booked for longer we would not of stayed there.

Everything,i dont feel you should be connected with them anymore, it has to be the worst hotel I've ever stopped at.

You get what you pay for.

Very basic but staff were friendly. had to ring bell after 10pm to get in which was a bit strange and I have never had to do this in any other hotel or b&b before and I have stayed in Blackpool a lot of times over the years. No towels in the room but was given them on request.

We hated everything about the hotel. It was very dirty and untidy. The beds were discusting, full of stains and smelly. There were now towels or toilet roll and the dirty wardrobe had no handle. The portable tv couldnt be used as the plug didnt reach the socket. The picture we looked at on line was nothing like the discusting room. I would never go back there and would tell others to stay well clear

I woudnt recomend this hotel to anyone it was dirty and the rooms were discusting smelled of dampness mould everywhere had to ask for another room no towels or toiletrolls in rooms on arrival no entertainment that the reason we choose A hotel wanted A bar with enterytainment at nyt carpets were frayed an torn walls were filthy an parts of ceiling falling down dont know how this hotel passes regulations coudnt wait to get out of it

The shower had hot water which, after the overall state of the hotel was very surprising. This is the only positive comment I can make on this hotel.

The hotel looks nothing like the picture on your website. It is very tired and shabby looking with discoloured paint, and a generally dirty overall appearance to greet you. The main entrance and reception area is also dirty and dingy with the two people I dealt stinking of sweat. They were pleasant though! The room was a disgrace, a window that wouldn't shut with the wooden plinth hanging off, a dirty net curtain and no actual curtains at all. There were cupboards that wouldn't shut, holes in the ceiling and a dirty appearance in general.

It was the only room in blackpool left at a reasonable price.

very poor condition of the room, no toilet paper, no towels and a opened used bar of soap left for us to use.The room didnt look like it had been serviced for our stay, we were all reluctant to sleep in the beds

I did not like anything about our stay at the hotel! I booked 3 rooms yet when we got there there were only 2 double rooms and 1 single so 2 of us had to share a single bed and we received no discount!! The rooms were very dirty and if there was a vacancy at another hotel i would have moved

The bathrooms were discusting with no toilet roll or towels The window in 1 of the rooms were broken so wouldnt shut There were dead spiders on the bed in 1 room which we have photos of all this!! I am surprised that this hotel has not been shut down! I spoke to numerous guests and they all had the same opinions as me and my friends

the location was the only plus going for it.

booked hotel on the smoking friendly site to ensure we would be able to smoke in the hotel room. when arrived was told we were not able to although it clearly stated on the hotel web site that you could. also the cleanliness was poor, the mattress was very uncomfortable their were no towels provided, you had to give a deposit to be given a tv remote and was not given a front door key.

The Grosvener Hotel is by far the worse hotel my partner and i have ever stayed in, the advert was very misleading, i dont know where they have got the photographs from but i dont think it was that hotel, it was dirty. run down. lift dosnt work, carpets stained and worn out, mould all over shower cubical, and curtain, curtains hanging off and dirty, couldnt see out of windows for muck, i could go on and on, do not go to this Hotel !!!!
