Lacking real ale.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. We had a crying hungry toddler in the early hours of the morning and the night staff bent over backwards to help, bringing her a sandwich and a glass of milk even though these things were not on the night menu. Every encounter with a staff member was positive and welcoming.

Really well appointed room, nice little touches in bathroom (cotton buds, nail-file etc), very pleasant interior and exterior for this hotel.

Heating system didn`t seem to work that well, and less-than-useful insert in welcome book saying its linked to the air-conditioning, but no basic intructions seen for the controller on the wall. Real shame, as the temperature of the room spoiled its perfection.

Great value for money on the one night special, lovely location and very good food in the Ciros restaurant. Hotel facilities and Spa were excellent.

The whole stay was perfect. Living very stressful lives we were in need of relaxation and pampering. We were given room 78 bridle suite which was gorgeous. Had a massage and facial in the Spa wow! Amazing Spa. Staff were very professional and friendly. Had breakfast in our room and food was very good. Loved this hotel and will definately come back for our anniversary in March.

Slight criticism was the website said 5 mins from Chester in fact it was 5 miles. Had booked a restaurant in Chester and had to pay £10 each way for a taxi.

The restaurant and it's staff were first class, the food delicious and well presented the only negative being children repeatedly bursting out crying.

We paid (or had been expected to pay!), £155 for a room that was positioned directly above the hotel disco! We packed and left at 10-15pm on what was supposed to be out wedding anniversary weekend away. It is apparent no consideration was given to paying customers and the only thing that mattered was filling rooms.

Spa facilities. Clean. Good breakfast. Good bar. Friendly relaxed atmosphere.

On this occasion the room was a little small for a double. Much larger on last visit

A lovely venue with friendly helpful staff. Beautifully decorated.

The hotel was lacking in management regarding payment for meals. We were not asked for room numbers when ordering dinner or breakfasts and no-one told us how or when we were meant to pay for these things. This was an oversight which led to confusion and bad feeling. Not for me personally as asked but it was the case for others.

Excellent facilities, fabulous spa area and very much enjoyed our meal in Nelsons restaurant.

Staff generally excellent, menus and bar fairly priced and with a good selection - impressed to see game on the menu in seasons. Pool and Gym facilities were good, and room comfortable. Excellent choice for a midweek stay for couples or a solo business traveller.

Corridor lighting was intrusive and illuminated the room all night. Bathroom had a damp / mouldy aroma - exacerbated by the windows being shut and heating on 26 degrees when I arrived. I can see that this could be a noisy hotel when there are functions on and would not be keen on a weekend stay as a result. Breakfast was rather poor in quality - black pudding scorched outside and raw/cold in middle. Tomatoes were not cored, so ended up spitting out stalks, mushrooms had gone "over" before being used so tasted musty / mouldy. Staff in breakfast room were borderline surly - a sharp contrast to the excellents ervice elsewhere.
