Room and bathroom good and clean.
While the restaurant prices were lower than usual, the quality of food was also lower than anticipated.
We enjoyed our stay at Grouse & Claret. This was a good stop over location in Derbyshire. (Chatsworth House is very close and is an amazing place to visit). Our room was very basic but completely adequate for our needs. The meals in the restaurant were lovely. Staff were friendly at all times and there was loads of parking space available in the carpark.
Large room with settee plus a desk. Value evening and lunck meals at the pub downstairs. Could walk to Chatsworth House if enthusiastic. Ample onsite parking.
Can not fault it, great night sleep ,friendly staff who always their to give a hand, pleasant manner and a good laugh. Had a great stay.
Stayed 4 nights. Room comfortable. Staff friendly. Good value pub grub. Ideal for touring Derbyshire. This is our second visit and we will definitely stay again.
great staff, good size comfortabie rooms, good hearty breakfast.....
room at front,, affected by noisy A6 road ,,,,, would benifit from good double-glazing ??....
Loacation great easy to get to good parking facilities Comfortable eating ares with good selection of food good outdoor areas for eating and or drinking
shower screen dirty(mildew) and water leaked onto floor. Bathroom window sill could do with a makeover(split paint) Rooms could benefit from double glazing to cut traffic noise during night
The menu and food was very good value for money.
We thought the towels in our bathroom could have been thicker and larger. But very good that they were changed each day.
Clean sheets nice food very friendly people
Spare bed in family room
Decent Food Good Location for the Peak District
Dingy Room, poorly Decorated Dirty Shower
The staff who were at all times efficient, polite and cheerful. The situation is excellent and the whole place had an air of welcome about it.
The loud noise from expel air system which continued throughout the night and seemed to come from directly underneath our bedroom.
The staff were nice and friendly.. Great service..They were good with our daughter who is 9.
The road noise... a very early start
Good location as a base to visit Chatsworth, Bakewell, Buxton Castleton etc.Nice breakfast and in the evening excellent value meals on their 1.2.3 menu where main course was £6 and starter and pud £2 each....surprisingly good for the money.Good variety on the main menu as well. Would stay again if visiting the area.
Nice hotel, good location for local attractions, room was clean and all together it was a good place to stay for a single night. The restaurant was very large and the menu choice was ok, although it was the sort of fare that you get in chain pubs. It was freshly cooked though so no real complaints.
Whilst the room was spacious and the location was good it was right next to a main road. As the hotel didn't have double glazing there was a lot of traffic noise right through the night. The curtains in the room didn't fully cover the window and the net curtain was a bit damp in the morning from the condensation
The staff where fantastic
We were given a room with a compressor right outside our bedroom window. Did not get one nights sleep and to say we were spending 6 nights there, would have thought they may have given us a better room.there was also no tissues, shampoo or conditioner in the bathroom.
The bed was comfy and the room was a reasonable size. Breakfast nice.
Staff were rude, abruptly told when checking in that we hadn't specified a child but we did that through booking.com. Not helpful and certainly not friendly. Room was dusty.
on arrival required to pay account before access to room. When questioned responce "take it or leave it"
good service and food facilities
rooms rather tired
Very friendly staff, service was very good even though the place was very busy. The cleanliness was very good throughout.
Our room although comfortable was a bit dated and could do with some modernisation.
Helpful staff. Spacious room. Good selection on bar menu.
Some areas of furnishing in the restaurant area were quite grubby. I think it may be time for a refurbish
Water, tea & biscuits available in room. Dinner on the 2nd night.
Poor professionalism by staff when registering on arrival as first impressions always count. Room 1 was above the kitchen with no views at all.
Great value for money really helpful staff
Pub is undergoing a refurb in the next month (oct 2014) so the windows which have seen better days will all be replaced
This was a fantastic hotel for families; friendly staff and comfortable room.
the food was excellent, the staff are the friendliest that i have encountered in the uk, and the facilities were excellent
hard to find any serious faults really
Staff, value for money, food was excellent. Even though the rooms could have been more comfortable the cleanliness of them could not be faulted.
Rooms were very tired looking. Only one dining chair per room, needed comfy seats in case you wanted to watch TV. Double glazing and more modern form of heating a must.
