The restaurant food was to die for! Room was modern and spacious.
The bed was small and quite hard. No bath.
good location. everything at hotel site. good food , warm room, comfy bed
service in restaurant a little slow but overall food was good
wifi good and nice log fire in the restaurant
Bathroom very cold and lots of condensation from poor windows
Nice warm comfy room
No CCTV covering car park
Good location for going around the Peak District. The room was very clean and had everything we needed. Food in the pub/restaurant was quite nice and averagely priced as well. Had no problem with noise ourselves, couldn't really hear the road.
Not much, the only problem we had was we could hear the music from the pub/restaurant in the morning, but wasn't too much of a problem. Someone tried to get into our room late on, but I locked the door and they clearly just got the wrong room. You can tell the rooms are nicely refurbed, but the corridor could do with some updating,
Free, easy parking; Pub with food and grog; super convenient for exploring the area; great value.
Nothing, really. Would stay here again
Shower screen leaked like a sieve. Breakfast waitress was on a different schedule from everyone else - appeared surprised to have to serve us!!
pleasant environment, nice and clean
Room slightly too hot over night
Comfortable and good location and breakfast excellent.
The location was nice and central for Bakewell and all the surrounding areas of interest. The hotel was excellent and the staff very obliging, especially Amy.
There wasn't anything we didn't like but would suggest secondary double glazing on the windows for both the traffic noise and heat loss. However I would say that neither bothered us.
Need to be more organised at breakfast time, waiting time was too long for service.
location close to dales
quality of room
Location. Friendly staff. Clean comfortable room. Excellent breakfast. Good value for money.
the location was good
staff in pub service very slow.
good size room good facilities, excellent food
The staff were great, lovely refurbishment of public rooms, food excellent.
Not too keen on all the black mould on the bathroom windows, would have been better not to have sealed up the window frames. Plus mould above the bath - it needs some mould & mildew remover but no-one is allowed to use anything containing bleach anymore or they get closed down. Works well in my house!
staff food & wine room location
The room was lovely and had everything we needed. The hotel/pub was in a nice location close to bakewell and matlock. The food was excellent. Staff appeared friendly and helpful.
Room and bathroom good and clean.
While the restaurant prices were lower than usual, the quality of food was also lower than anticipated.
We enjoyed our stay at Grouse & Claret. This was a good stop over location in Derbyshire. (Chatsworth House is very close and is an amazing place to visit). Our room was very basic but completely adequate for our needs. The meals in the restaurant were lovely. Staff were friendly at all times and there was loads of parking space available in the carpark.
Large room with settee plus a desk. Value evening and lunck meals at the pub downstairs. Could walk to Chatsworth House if enthusiastic. Ample onsite parking.
Can not fault it, great night sleep ,friendly staff who always their to give a hand, pleasant manner and a good laugh. Had a great stay.
Stayed 4 nights. Room comfortable. Staff friendly. Good value pub grub. Ideal for touring Derbyshire. This is our second visit and we will definitely stay again.
great staff, good size comfortabie rooms, good hearty breakfast.....
