A smell of drains in the bedroom
Location . food ok . staff very good .room very nice no window and very hot. Bed average .
Bed . to expensive . Menu limited . Nosy with cellar fans all night we had room 11 . With no windows and very hot .
Location was good and all the hotel was clean.
Rom was far too small and kept knocking my legs on side of bed when going to the toilet.Bedroom very ward in night and landing light on all night.Breakfast was cold.
The position of the hotel was perfect, especially if you like walking. The coastal paths are within a 10 minute walk. Restaurant food was excellent, as were the friendly staff.
Staff all had an excellent attitude. They could not have been more helpful - first class
Size of cooked breakfast portions notably variable over several days of stay
Good Shower in room
Comfortable room with generous bathroom. Good lighting. Across the road from the Information Centre and easy walk to main part of town. Good meals. Good parking.
Blockage in shower. Experienced a bit of a wait for a table for dinner. Recommend booking table in advance.
Location Friendly staff Fast service
Our room was over the Kitchen but they stopped all noise after 10pm
Loved everything about the grove from the room to the staff xx
The mattress on the bed seemed to curve over so it felt like you were falling out of bed
Staff esp. Nicki, breakfast, location
Bed size, room size, bathroom size,
The Grove is directly opposite the superb Visitor Centre, and the start of the magnificent coastal path walk from there round to Whitesands. And there is a good shower and good dinner and drinks to revive you after the walk.Don't miss it!
The location, service and food
A room otherwise spacious and well-equipped but apparently deliberately constructed without a window; like a cave or bunker, with rough stonework and white beams and ducting. Not expected in a good traditional country hotel. Specify when booking if you want a window.
Service was fantastic, even shown to our room. Room had everythign we needed, comfortable bed and breakfast was superb. Great selection and really good quality. Couldn't fault a thing.
Ambience Friendly staff Location just away from city centre High quality food
Reception arrangements. The staff extremely pleasant, energetic and helpful but there is evidence that some staff members need a bit more training in listening to what customers actually want and order.
If you have coeliac disease, definitely don't stay here. We stayed in 5 places in Wales, their tariff was more than 50 percent higher than all of the others and yet the only one not to provide gluten free bread and certainly no GF cereals. These items are not on the corporate supply list! Dark room with very small window.
Excellent, friendly staff. Excellent location. Good value. Room (7) and bed comfortable, excellent bathroom/shower.
Noise from dishwashers (?) laundry(?) below during night disturbed our sleep. NB you did have a big party in.
Friendly welcome, helpful staff, hotel inviting. Good menus. Nice breakfast in conservatory. Comfortable bed. Lots of parking.
Noisy. Was promised quiet room on side but on arrival was taken to front room. Went for standard rather than economy room but very small. Room was so hot, late September, that it was imperative to have the window open all the time. There were tables directly below the window and people were sitting outside making noise until 0055 the first night and 0145 the second night. In the morning the noise from the next rooms loo and shower woke us at 0630!
... did what it said on the tin .... staff were lovely and the 3 ladies working the restaurant were clearly run off their feet - but were still a pleasure to deal with. Lounge and restaurant were good to sit in so we had a pleasant evening.
there were clearly some delays in the restaurant (evening) - other people fortunately! - not us! Well done steak wasn't quite well done but it wasn't rare enough to leave! Breakfast bangers were a bit hard and bacon was a bit fatty. wouldn't put us off in the future though.
Adequate and accessible car parking. Resturant was light and pleasant to use. Food was beautifully cooked.
Lift would have been useful.
Breakfast, friendly staff, lovely garden, nicely appointed room. Great location, good value.
Hard bed (room 1), floodlight ouside window on all night.. (disturbed my wife)
Clean room and excellent breakfast. Friendly staff and good night sleep.
Look closely at the decor in the shared areas - stairs, corridors, dining room and the place could do with a lick of paint and perhaps new carpets.
very comfortable and good food
no public transport on a public holiday - only long taxi ride from railway station
Close to the cathedral. Breakfast was good. Parking was convenient.
Dog was barking in room next to us. Room was small. Over priced.
I liked its location -- just a walk away from the cathedral, pubs and restaurants. I also liked the food in the restaurant. The service was friendly and efficient.
It's not the hotel's fault, but because of unreliable broadband sometimes you can't pay with credit cards. I had to pay with my debit card, which caused no problem but might have if my stay had been longer.
Helpfull staff who went out of their way to avert a major crisis, dealt with in a calm manner, so reassuring !
Unable to pay by MasterCard due to poor reception, but Visa Debit worked O K ?
