Inexperienced staff, pillows too hard and small
Food excellent and staff very friendly. Lovely location and very comfortable room.
Was a hot weekend and the hotel provided fans in the rooms. Very good. Breakfast was good quailty as well.
Position, staff, breakfast were all good
The shower was just about adequate
The hotel is lovely, clean, quiet and staff extremely friendly. Wi-fi worked everywhere which is a must when I'm on business, and the tv had all the freeview channels which was great! On my second night, I ate in the restaurant, the food was amazing!
No aircon in the room although a fan was provided, I can't sleep with the fan blowing. I arrived at 9.45pm to be told the restaurant was closed (The menu said availble until 10pm) The room service menu only have 4 different types of sandwiches. After a 5 hour journey, I was looking for something a bit more substantial.
A nice comfy hotel with a high standard of cleanliness. Breakfast was excellent with a varied choice. Staff were helpful as we had asked for an early check-in
Good location the feel of being out in the countryside but within very quick and easy access to Slough. Good restuarant, secure parking, internet access and a very clean and quality image to the hotel. Also walking distance to the local village
Afternoon tea on the lawn !
Good Value. Friendly attentive staff. Very comfortable bed. Food was very good value for money and of good quality. Staff handled mix-up over booking calmly and efficiently. Security gates at entrance.
Room was very nice. The Italian waiter in the dining room was superb. Old style manners and service - a definate asset to the hotel as there appeared to be a lot of new inexperienced staff there during our stay in June
bar was a little restricted. Barman was unable to mix cocktails and this was only found out after ordering a dry martini. He didnt say he couldnt make it and the drink that he brought was very unpleasant. It was also difficult to sit outside for a drink as the only bar that was open didn't have an outside sitting area. You had to walk through another area that looked like a function room to access the outside sitting area.
food, comfortable beds. attentive staff. how quickly they resolved our problem of the noise by relocating and upgrading our room.
being situated in room 207 above disco/wedding. unremitting noise until 2am.
Spacious comfortable clean room Restaurant staff at breakfast were very friendly and helpful
The room was very hot Lot of noise through the night from reception area, which disturbed sleep Guest service book requires update with wifi and meal time info
Grovefield House is an oasis which is perfect for resting and relaxing before being forced into the insanity that is Heathrow Airport. It is quiet, comfortable and the staff are excellent.
Overall staff and service excellent. Breakfast was very good. Varied selection.
Constant banging of doors which could be heard from my room.
Set in great grounds .we upgraded to a deluxe room . It was really lovely . Very comfortable , and clean good size . We asked for 2 easy chairs which were in the room as we have bad backs. Unfortunately they weren't very comfy and didn't support our backs. On that note we had a really relaxing break . The highlight of the break were the red kites seen from the bedroom and dining room. Restaurant meals were really tasty and wellcooked and a good choice.
We stayed mid week .and were really dissapointed to find a buffet breakfast for a 4 star hotel and the price we paid .cheap sliced bread was used. Not much to choose from on the cold buffet we have had better at premier inns. The scrambled eggs tasted very powdery .bacon like cardboard. What a pleasant surprise on the friday morning when there was a menu . With a good choice . Freshly cooked to order and more to our liking .
Location very quiet
really old fashioned
Location was excellent for this visit. Staff were courteous and friendly...lovely bathroom and glorious weather helped.
Bed was a little soft
The grounds although not huge were very well kept and very peaceful
The room had no air conditioning and in the relatively warm weather when we stays made the room very uncomfortable
The room was comfortable
A few issues but they were resolved
Lovely setting Breakfast first morning, cooked to order from menu with a lot of choice.
Breakfast second morning from buffet, small choice with either poor cooking or worse produce, or quite possibly both. Not sure restaurant is 2 AA rosette quality.
room very comfortable. grounds wonderful
bitters behind the bar were all very cold. unrefridgerated bitter not available
great hotel would definitely stay again. Lovely helpful staff.
would have liked semi skimmed milk in room instead of whole milk
Good wifi Good choice of healthy food in bar Comfy bed
Having to chase up service in the bar - service could have been more professional.
The food in the restaurant was excellent, staff were friendly & helpful
Bar service a bit lacking i.e. Had to wait at bar for staff to notice there as not always manned. No fruit in pimms which for 4 star hotel was disappointing. Same menu in restaurant on 2nd night of stay.
Krystal the receptionist was friendly and polite and very quick to respond to my requests (wine glasses for the room, a list of takeaway restaurants etc....). We were located on the ground floor with a lovely view of the grounds, 2 deck chairs outside which was lovely and was nice to sit outside the patio just chilling and soaking up some sun.
We paid cash and was only given a receipt for part of the amount and was told if we wanted an invoice showing the remainder we would have to ask for it the following day. Found that a bit odd and rather inconvenient. The stay would have been more comfortable if the room was set up with wine glasses, bottle opener, mini bar/fridge. The shower is fixed to the wall, would have been nice to be able to remove it to rinse through hair properly. Flush on the toilet not great. These are all just small things but for the price of the room these things would make a big difference. On day 1 of breakfast they had veggie sausages as part of the buffet, day 2 no veggie alternative. Hairs found in beans and the toast.
