Location and available parking.
super friendly staff!
Friendly staff and good location
Quite noisy with students milling outside.
Location and friendly staff made our stay excellent. No major issues car parking tight but very central.
The bed was a little uncomfortable and the room extremely warm.
Rooms clean and tidy breakfast very good staff very good quick service at the bar
We liked the airy rooms and friendly staff. The meals were good value and room facilities very good.
Tgere us an issue with mouse from the bar and therefore I would not recommend for families with young children
We chose to stay at Harry's, simply because it offered one of the cheapest and convenient hotel stays in Aberystwyth, our £63 one night stay inclusive of two free breakfasts, free parking and free WiFi. The hotel was very easy to find, and when we arrived, we were promptly given our keycard and given room 7 - a small but lovely room, immaculately clean, with a modern bathroom, complete with tub for two, overhead shower, towels and complimentary toiletries. The bed was dressed in snow white linen, and was unbelievably comfy! There was also a television, which could only receive BBC One and Two, as well as radio stations - although it was programmed to receive all the other Freeview channels, it just couldn't catch enough signal. There was also quite a retro telephone by the bed, and tea and coffee making facilities, with an absolute abundance of biscuits! Our car we parked in the hotels car park, just a two minute walk behind Harry's, and the breakfast in the morning before we left was lovely - an all-you-can-eat continental buffet, as well as a menu from various cooked breakfasts, from large to small, vegetarian to supposedly homemade porridge. My partner opted for the large breakfast, and I the vegetarian, and we were both very pleased - piping hot!
For the price you pay, you absolutely can't complain. Our only small discomfort was the room was extremely hot, perhaps some areas of the hotel are significantly warmer than others.
The room was clean and comfortable. Weather was good on the Sunday so able to go for a nice walk. Hotel in good position for shops, beach etc.
We ate our evening meals in the bistro on both evenings. We didn't know until we sat down in the bistro on Valentine's evening that the menu was different from the one in our room. The choice of food on the Valentine's menu was disappointing. the day after we had the Sunday roast and feel that this could have been better. There was too much meat and it was a bit fatty. the choice of dessert was also a bit limited. Food could be improved.
The bed and the bar
The staff were friendly, the location is great and it has parking (very useful in aber)
We booked through this website a few weeks before stay, however when we arrived our booking was not written down. After a few minutes of fumbling they put us in room 23. Although we thought this was not very professional, we were happy to have a room after a long drive. Sadly the room we was placed in was just not up to standard. we stayed during mid February and the room was freezing, the radiators did not come on once. At first we thought it was just a cold hotel, however when we went for breakfast we found the rest of the hotel was lovely and warm! The tv in the room also did not work as there was no signal for any channel, but this didn't really matter as our window was next to the kitchen extractor fan so we could not hear anything anyway. (The same extractor fan also woke us up at 7am after a rough night sleep). The free wifi did not work as it did not seem to reach our room. As room 23 was located above the kitchen/ near storecupboards the hallway to our room was littered with empty kitchen tubs and trip hazards! I am happy to say that when we complained we were given a discount (in fact the staff seemed aware that room 23 was so awful), however please let this review be a warning to anyone who has the misfortune to be placed in room 23.
I would like to thank to Ms.BECKY, Who helped us at finding our lost stuff and sending them to our rooms, also appreciate for her kindness. If I ever visit the city again, I would like to choose the same hotel just because Ms.BECKY's kindness.
The hotel had no elevators, but even worse than that, an english lady at the reception with black hair and green eyes was really mean. If I ever come visit the city again, I won't choose the hotel just because of her inappropriate behaviour. Even though she had the british charging machine and we needed a lot, she did not give it to us.
Room & staff were excellent, breakfast was also excellent and good choice offered.
First hotel ive stayed at where ear plugs were available in the room, being a bar was expecting music but unfortunately it was the air con outside that kept waking us. If stayed again would ask for a room at the front
It was a but cild in the dining area in the evening.
Close to town centre and not far from sea front
Bedroom up four flights of stairs, should have requested lower level my fault.
Location was central
Mattress was dreadful - slept on the floor floor was lopsided very noisy - hotel provides ear plugs by the bed Had to wait 45 mins for our meal
I liked it was was easy to find. The staff was very friendly and chatty which makes it helpful as I was on my own. The room was clean and also warm. Breakfast was lovely too. Would stay here again in the future
Light outside my window for hotel sign illuminated the room at night and the heating pipes are extremely loud.
Great breakfast. Have now stayed her 4 times.
Stayed a Saturday night. Checked out on Sunday morning.Bistro times are Saturday & Sunday: 12pm-9pm. Popped back in for in for Sunday lunch at 3-30pm only to be told that they were not serving food until 4-30 as they were closed for lunch ????. A shame as we had to take our custom (and money) elsewhere
Great location, lovely staff, and good food (very veggie friendly!).
Toilet wasn't very clean when we arrived, and bar was quite noisy on first night when we had dinner (sports on TV), but no noise in hotel room, so no issues there.
