Score from 110 reviews Very good
The country location - it was in a pretty village and was a very pretty building. the room was very nicely decorated and not too small. The bed was comfortable and the view was nice (beyond the road!)
The guesthouse had no phone or wifi reception and I couldn't get a decent signal for the television. The night I stayed was a very hot summer's night and I had to have the window open - the guesthouse is on a very busy intersection and the noise of lorries and other traffic was very loud. I was not told there were (minimal) cooking facilities or a lounge room for guests and only noticed it in the morning. the lock on the bathroom door was questionable.
Good welcome and attention. Was fine for my purposes.
charging laptop in electric plug socket apparently tripped the fuse
Valoue for money in easy-to-find location. Generous breakfast.
When I booked, the website said evening meals available. Subsequently I learned that this service had been withdrawn. Hopefully the website has been brought up to date.
The welcome. The breakfasts. The willingness of the staff to go out of their way to assist me.
Lack of alcoholic drink to purchase on the premises. Lack of evening meal on the premises (though advertised on hoarding on exterior of building). Bus timetables on notice board inaccurate. Being woken at 5:30 am on Sunday morning by some idiots repeatedly banging on te door then throwing a stone through my open window (though clearly beyond the management's control).
The people, they were very helpful. The breakfast was nice, and the place was clean and tidy. I would stay there again.
Very welcoming and friendly staff. Very clean and yummy breakfast. I will definitely go back.
Clean,fresh and peaceful.
The customer service was brilliant.
it has a great pub just 1 min away.
Breakfast, the lovely welcome, the clean shower room, the proximity to Prestwold Hall
Superb friendly service and fantastic value at this price point. Simple reliable Wi-Fi and a hearty breakfast.
I was greeted on arrival and shown to my room which is on the ground floor (useful for those like me who have mobility issues) and was a pleasant yellow colour and spacious. The hotel itself is on a busy crossroads but I wasn't disturbed by the traffic. Parking is limited but I had no problem whilst I stayed here. TV reception was good and I appreciated the kettle with tea and coffee available in my room
Great breakfast very friendly staff. Thanks.
Shower broke on second use but free breakfast offered for inconvenience using shared facilities - great that problem was acknowledged.
The room was clean and spacious, nicely painted in relaxing yellow. Trish, at reception, seemed friendly and pleasant. The location is very handy, at a crossroads from where you can head North, South, East or West, into lovely countryside, or towards Loughborough, Nottingham, or the Vale of Belvoir. The village pub seemed friendly enough, and served good beer. The reception area is lovely, with beams and plenty of local tourist information leaflets. The TV has good reception, the ensuite bathroom is good, kettle and tea and coffee availability are good, and the option of 'room only' without breakfast, suited me too.
The guesthouse is right at a very busy crossroads, with traffic seemingly night and day - a difficult one to assess, whether the convenient location outweighs the traffic noise. I wondered whether the car park at the side of the building could get full, forcing me to try and find alternative parking in the village nearby, so I decided to take a walk and leave the car parked in the car park, when I went out for a drink. Possibly the carpet in the room could do with replacing.
The ladies running the guesthouse could not have been more helpful or friendly. Extremely comfortable and great breakfasts.
Price, welcoming staff
Traffic noise, paper thin walls andnextdoor room on phone at 0430
The rooms were nice, warm and cosy, was just like being at home. Staff were wonderful and couldn't have been more helpful.
good value, comfortable bed, very clean, good breakfast.
Friendly staff Location near Nottingham Price.
Our room was a little outdated, but most have been refurbished. Was still fine mind you!
The guesthouse was really quiet. Lovely location just on the outskirts of Loughborough
Breakfast was really good as was the service, rooms were clean although a little musty on the ground floor.
They advertise having a bar but it was not open. There is a good pub in the village but remember to bring cash as they don't do cards.
the room and room facilities
the bar was shut , and tv in room was poor reception
Have stayed many times - always very welcome, and everyone very helpful. Rooms bright and clean
Location staff and breakfast
The showers were poor
