Friendly staff, clean spacious rooms
Heating goes off through the night was freezing
Staff were very helpful & breakfast was good.
Bedroom needs modernising.
Just off motorway. Plenty of parking spaces. Triple room was good sized with a nice bathroom and plenty of power sockets. A big plus was an alarm clock in the room which is rare in hotels nowadays
Had to wait a while outside at 1am before someone opened the door. Had totowing the door bell twice although we did call to I form them of our arrival time.
No meals on Sunday evening
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was fairly old fashioned but confortale and clean.
The hotel was very difficult to find in the middle of an industrial estate. A signpost on the main roads would have helped.
The staff are generally helpful.
The noisy function which played loud music until 1.00am, it was not possible to sleep until this had finished.
Nice room Good food Good Vaue
Location not ideal -lots of industrial buildings around. No view.
Hotel was clean and pleasant.
Staff were not particularily welcoming.Room was freezing .Ringing reception-the phone was not answered even though staff were sitting at the desk.No help offered with luggage.
Small, family hotel feel Spaceous rooms Fair price
All rooms facing the road Very little to do in this part of town
having a lovely room lovely staff who was knowledgeable about the area
nothing except need to have a choice open to customers who dont drink tea or coffee maybe hot chocolate in the room too my wife had to buy a jar for the room for a hot drink because she does not drink tea or coffee
I liked the fact that despite a function, the tray charge was waived for room service.
The Garlic bread was damp and cold and cheese topping disgusting. The steak was full of gristle.

Room very clean and functional, staff very friendly and helpful, will be back in near future.
The location - easy to get to and from motorways. Nice, practical bathroom. Pet friendliness. Free WiFi.
For the price - nothing.
Hard to get into town
Clean, modern rooms and bathrooms. Friendly and helpful staff. A good choice for an affordable night's stay.
Not the most scenic location but convenient for where we wanted to be. Room was a little too hot.
Good location, easy to find. Staff very helpful and friendly. Restaurant had good selection and food was good, nice selection for breakfast. Room very clean and tidy and comfortable.
Cannot fault our stay! Room we stayed in was very quiet and clean , staff were very drier and helpful, going back this weekend to see family and staying here again.
The hotel manager was great, she was very helpful.
Got told we couldnt sit in the bar area with our drinks as there was a wedding on, so we had to sit in reception which I didnt like. Also the room I had (26) was noisy from the wedding guests outside smoking and drinking. A few cars had windows smashed outside also because of some travellers so I was worried to leave my car.
Easy to find, close to the motorway without being too close! Good directions from hotel website
Some other residents on second night were very noisy banging doors etc
We have stayed at The Guidepost on a few occasions and found it is normally a great place to stay, but we have gone elsewhere when we have had better deals.
On this occasion we found that the heating had been turned off completely, the passage and room windows had been left open, and the whole place was cold. When I complained the next morning I was told that I should have gone to reception and asked for a heater, which sounded a bit odd to me as I would expect a place like that to be on a thermostat, and if we were too warm we could turn the heating down, as is the case at other hotels in which we have stayed.
