Good location for town and train
Heating was a bit eratic
Good location, close to station. Functional roo
There was a slight hint of urine in the room. Made sure I slept with the window open.
Very good, clean and functional accommodation and restaurant has a wonderful view over the river.
Mattress had seen better days and needs to be replaced - could not sleep beyond 5 am because my back hurt.
Very good location Friendly staff
Being a YMCA There was a lot of young people in there making a lot of nous
Great value and breakfast included in price. Very rare these days. Staff were naturally very friendly and helpful.
location is perfect if you are going to university and staff is very caring and helpful and smiling always :)
you need to buy a cable for internet from your room and free wi-fi is only at reception.
Proximity to town, proximity to train station, cheap, good breakfasts (included in the price of the room), friendly and helpful staff.
Lack of wifi (free or otherwise, although a cable connection was available), noise in the evenings, small shower.
Check out times are very strict and the way the customer is forced out is not kind.
LOCATION - CLEANLINESS - VALUE FOR MONEY
BREAKFAST TIME COULD BE EXTENDED
Unbeatable location, friendly staff, hearty breakfast included, cheap and filling evening meal available, internet access, kettle and tea/coffee supplies in room, clean and functional. Better on numerous counts (e.g. location, cleanliness) than other 'budget' options in the area hence I always come back here.
The bed (single) on this occasion was not the most comfortable, I could feel some of the mattress springs. There was also a hot water failure on my last morning, but no communication or alternative available, which for me was a problem as I had to go to work for the whole day before taking a flight home in the evening.
Breakfast finnished to early
The staff are very nice. Every thing is good.
Only the noise from the streets on Fridays/Saturdays at night. But that is up to the police and council
Location and the friendly staff
Nothing in particular except that the bedsheet felt soiled.
bed very uncomfortable felt line i was sleeping on a straw matress !!!
central location good place for a short stay in town breakfast good
bath room is really small like in an RV have to bring your own (or buy) internet cable (no WiFi in room)
The cleanliness of the room and the staff were friendly.
The bathroom was very small kept banging my arms through lack of space. Loud music from room next door.
1) The price was right 2) In line with what I paid it was what I expected and in some area it was much better. The breakfast is great but is a self help but again its what I expected, generally very friendly staff there and helpful.
1) By the nature of what the YMCA is, it attracts many young people, so it can be a bit noisy and staff number are small so controlling noise can take time, so it can be a bit lively.
All fine, no complaints. Very simple, basic accomodation, for a reasonable price, great central location and staff were helpful and pleasant.
First, it is price and hotel location, if you planning just to sleep here and have a breakfast in that case it is the best option for reasonable price especially taking into account included substantial breakfast with tasty café and morning view on the River Way.
The staff was friendly, the breakfast was really fresh and tasty. The location is superb.
The facility was not very clean and the wi-fi is only available on the ground floor.
Central position near station. Comfortable, better than the average hostel, but small room with tiny though well-designed bathroom.
Being woken at 4am by neighbour coming in and playing loud music - fortunately only lasted a few minutes.
I had a bit of a cold night first night as duvet too small (I am only little and I think the duvet was more children's than adult) and too thin (the weather was turning autumnal at night). I mentioned it to reception and in 5 minutes a friendly house keeper brought another thicker duvet, and I was much more comfortable. This was the only glitzch in what was a very good stay and fantastic for seeing the town and getting to the university. I would stay again next year.
Located in central Guildford, close to shops, restaurants, station and businesses. It has the best price-quality ratio in the area. Rooms comfy and fairly well equipped
Although the building looks fairly new, inside everything has a run down hostel-like feeling. No coffee or tea facilities, bathroom quite small and tv not working. Particularly didn't mind but others may...
everything was fine
