The cleanliness of the room and the staff were friendly.
The bathroom was very small kept banging my arms through lack of space. Loud music from room next door.
1) The price was right 2) In line with what I paid it was what I expected and in some area it was much better. The breakfast is great but is a self help but again its what I expected, generally very friendly staff there and helpful.
1) By the nature of what the YMCA is, it attracts many young people, so it can be a bit noisy and staff number are small so controlling noise can take time, so it can be a bit lively.
All fine, no complaints. Very simple, basic accomodation, for a reasonable price, great central location and staff were helpful and pleasant.
First, it is price and hotel location, if you planning just to sleep here and have a breakfast in that case it is the best option for reasonable price especially taking into account included substantial breakfast with tasty café and morning view on the River Way.
The staff was friendly, the breakfast was really fresh and tasty. The location is superb.
The facility was not very clean and the wi-fi is only available on the ground floor.
Central position near station. Comfortable, better than the average hostel, but small room with tiny though well-designed bathroom.
Being woken at 4am by neighbour coming in and playing loud music - fortunately only lasted a few minutes.
I had a bit of a cold night first night as duvet too small (I am only little and I think the duvet was more children's than adult) and too thin (the weather was turning autumnal at night). I mentioned it to reception and in 5 minutes a friendly house keeper brought another thicker duvet, and I was much more comfortable. This was the only glitzch in what was a very good stay and fantastic for seeing the town and getting to the university. I would stay again next year.
Located in central Guildford, close to shops, restaurants, station and businesses. It has the best price-quality ratio in the area. Rooms comfy and fairly well equipped
Although the building looks fairly new, inside everything has a run down hostel-like feeling. No coffee or tea facilities, bathroom quite small and tv not working. Particularly didn't mind but others may...
everything was fine
Extremely friendly staff, completely clean, fantastic location.
Overall a pleasant stay and recommend it if you want some where you just want to put your head down.
Shower could be bigger, not suitable for the larger person.
Great location, good equiptment in room, quiet, friendly and helfpul staff
It is more a budget hotel rather than a hostel - ensuite rooms (really tiny bath), English-type breakfast. Very near to the railway station and near to High Street.
No cleaning at weekends.
I loved the location, the vast amount of storage space in the room, a shower that was easy to work - no freezing or boiling, just a perfect temperature - and the fact that the room was cosy without being oppressive. Loved the friendly staff and their willingness to help with everything.
In an ideal world I'd have liked an 11am checkout rather than 10am, but that's just me being greedy.
Great location, right in the middle of town close to the shops. Basic but comfortable enough room. Staff are friendly.
Shower is small but manageable.
location restaurant staff David and Gareth + Chef Front of service room and TV ensuite shower and toilet basin
youths congregating in the front entrance rolling some kind of cigarettes talking loudly swearing and no consideration for guests, like we are intruding on their place
The food. The Staff are very helpful. Nice and close to town. Meeting very nice people, at meal times.
Only that the night life is too nosey,in the area. And the traffic, is a bit nosey.
Central perfect location, just 1 minute from the train station,30 secs from the best restaurant bar in the town and market is just at the opposite. Free wifi, good for 1 night stay.
some of the receptionists do not have any clue about booking.com reservations and they may give you hard times about finding your reservation.
basically room was clean staff were lovely..no conmplints
matress could have been a bit stronger..../firmer
Noise from the club across the river, didn't get to sleep until 4.00am Breakfast Luke warm.
The cleaner on the first floor were lovely!
No access for parking. The week we were down cost us an absolute fortune. And all Of the staff (other than cleaners) where not very helpfull at all
The rooms were very clean, and the staff were friendly.
The lift wasn't working, the corridors were a bit smelly. It was a lovely central location which is great, but very very noisy at night.
It was a clean. Small but lovely acomodation Enoughtgood for the money and the close to the city town
They use old fashion of loked your room and you meed to left the key after you....
Extremely conveniently located, just a 5-minute walk from Guildford railway station, yet with none of the train-related noise. Also close to town centre for shopping, restaurants, etc. Ample breakfast, nice outside eating area overlooking the river and a "Roman" style garden. Also liked the fact that they seem to be involved in outreach work with young people.
While using the open-access computers in the foyer, could clearly hear some extremely inappropriate and unsavoury conversations going on between some of the younger residents. However, this is obviously not the fault of the YMCA staff. Perhaps they were not aware of it, and I should have brought it to their attention at the time.
