Very helpful and friendly staff close to towns amenities
Cobwebs on the bedroom.....car park rather tight
We liked room, food and being able to take our dog with us.
Personal reasons made us to stay away from home for Christmas. Guildhall Hotel was available for Christmas period. We booked the Denbigh luxury room. Room was nice, but overpriced. Now we know. What was worse is the hospitality in this hotel. The minimum wage paid staff were lovely. The Chef was a star and he knew, what he is doing. The food was great, but the landlords should never been in the hospitality business! They did not care about paying customer at all.I would say,the problem was, they did not care about themselves and the business. Our Christmas in Guildhall Hall hotel was just ok, only because of good food and comfort of the room.
We had a luxury suite with a four poster bed. The room was spacious nicely decorated and with little extras like a carafe of sherry provided along with the usual tea and coffee it was the best room of all the hotels we have stayed in during our trip to the UK. The bathroom was spacious with his and hers sinks and a very large walk-in shower. The owner of the hotel was friendly and nothing was too much trouble.
Nothing really although the general areas of the hotel could benefit from an update.
The be and bathroom were good
The hotel itself has character and charm about it. The rooms were done very tastefully, were extremely clean, and the service was great. Great value for money!
The only thing that stopped the stay being 10 out of 10 was the bed. It was an old mattress that felt like it had been turned upside down to stop the sagging in the middle. Unfortunately this meant that there was a large, hard lump right down the middle of the bed, and no matter where I lay, I was lying at an angle. In the end I put one of the large pillows under the mattress at one side, which made it feel slightly more comfortable.
Stayed in Dynbych Suite, which was nice, and the breakfast at the Guildhall Tavern was excellent Nice Italian Restaurant right on the edge of town
Lots of run down scruffy pubs, all of which seemed to have karaoke on Saturday night
Nice location and ambience
Could do with a good cleaning
Friendly staff, cosy fires, clean room and sausages for my dog at breakfast.
Staff and rooms were excellent. Close to shops, public houses and especially the Chocolate n Coffee Shop. Who's staff are very polite and friendly.
Parking was a bit of a squeeze. Breakfast tables were a bit sticky.
Staff helpful and friendly
we chose night when wedding guests staying,so v.noisy into early hours of morning!
Friendly and helpful staff Helped us out by providing an early early breakfast so we could get to our destination on time, also finding us a bath plug after much rummaging - thank you Hotel situated in centre of town, delightful walk up and down streets with castle within a pleasant distance and well worth a stroll
Nothing to dislike - we had a laugh as our room sloped, wierd sensation but we managed as only for one night
We booked twin-got double bed.Offered second choice-the same.Third choice on top floor with dangerous stairs.2 of 4 lights in bathroom not working.uncomfortable bed.no hairdryer.shower broken-given key to use bathroom at end of corridor.no toothmugs.soap falls down large plughole.very poor standard for Suite and price.bad smell in wardrobe.breakfast poor for price-no yoghurt.fruit hard.no cheese/ham.
Friendly staff, nice room.
Very restricted parking, get there early to get parked! Also not easy to find, Sat nav took us 1/4 mile away and a local did not know where it was!
black mold in shower.
Good breakfast with very pleasant waiting staff Nice spacious room
Frustrating wifi did not work in the bedrooms and piece of cling film left on cheesecake dessert which was not very sympathetically delt with by member of staff
The oak beams in the very old property. Central location.
Lack of parking facilities. No lift. Mould in the shower. Slanting glass shelf in the shower room. No place for personal washbags etc in shower room. Tiny sink. Light out in shower room, Fan not working. Table light not working in bedroom, & yes, that duvet really is that lumpy ! Pancake at breakfast like cardboard & scrambled egg in a congealed lump. Tables not laid properly. Coffee served in a tea pot, as not enough coffee pots. Cutlery not polished. Very poor coffee & tea provision in the bedroom. In all... £89 + was a bit much for the night.
Food was excellent
Comfortable surroundings, new meets old style, good breakfast. Used as a base for one night to visit Snowdonia and did book it last minute.
Local area not good for dining out, although ate in an Indian restaurant where the food was excellent. Being fussy, wifi didn't work in our room and bath/sink were chipped
Staff, room, view, location
No hair dryer
We enjoyed a wonderful nights stay, booking the luxury room was a wise decision, it was perfect. The proprietors were helpful, friendly, no wonder their hotel is an asset to them. We had a very tasty evening meal in the restaurant, compliments to the chef. We would recommend to other's.
Denbigh is quite a drab town, really not much going on! So, we stayed in the hotel, which is probably the best part of Denbigh!
Meal portions Staff friendliness Bedroom décor and size History of the building was interesting
Length of time it takes to wait for your evening meals - we waited 50 minutes in total for all the meals and 3 of them came out 20 minutes after the first 4 (the staff who took our order knew we were all together). This was rectified by the staff, however, who gave us a round of free drinks and one of the meals for half price as an apology, which we really appreciated.
Stunning building with gorgeous original features which gave it lots of character. Extremely comfortable beds and very friendly helpful staff. Would like to have stayed longer.
Breakfast room wasn't as clean as it could be.
loved the location - right in the centre of denbigh. room we had was a standard double, which was nicely decorated and had a lovely view. the breakfast was very tasty and there was lots of it.
lovely large room, nice big bath and good shower, good breakfast choice
limited parking, loud seagulls just outside room (top floor)from about 4.00am
