Quality of sleep the first night was poor due to noise and cars on the road outside, but when I asked to be moved the staff moved me straight away to a quieter room at the back. Location was great, between Grays Inn Rd, Holborn, Russell Square and Kings Cross.
The dining room was too small for the numbers of guests and breakfast was chaotic. The breakfast staff did their best to make it run smoothly. Staff were great. Both rooms I had were tiny, not enough room for me and my two bags. Bed and bedding were uncomfortable. If I could make a suggestion it would be for management to spend money on upgrading beds and bedding. Price seemed high for the quality of the accommodation but was considerably less than a hotel.
Room and sound coming from cars
The room I was given had very poor standard for the money I paid. The Internet was not working in the room. There is no work area no chain or desk. I regret having booked in that hotel.
We had a very unpleasant experience in this hotel. The room was too small and not cleaned.Unnecessarily expensive. Not recommended even for short stay.
It wasnt that far from the tube station and was good couldn't log on to the wifi kept saying in correct password but was a good little hotel
Price but then I suppoae it is in London and we only booked a week before
Warm welcome, Helpful staff well located to see central London
A bit worn looking. Breakfast room a little cramped
At least they keep the place reasonably clean.
Very poor quality, tatty place. I probably got the worst room too...... a cave the size of a closert in the basement underneath the pavement and road.
The toilet and shower room is very small, shower screen didn't close fully, was filthy! So uncomfortable to get ready in! Shower looked old. Bed was comfortable but while room needs a massive upgrade. Not bad in money but don't expect a lot for it. Staff were nice
The rooms are smelly and the breakfast very poor only toast bread nd cereals dont recimmendthis hotel to anyone
I am absolutely amazed and thankful for the kindness of the man working at the reception. He was very helpful and open, and when I had an illness and needed help, he was amazing. The location of the hotel is fine, it was easy to get around, and the room was cozy.
The general standard of cleanliness was poor, and I wouldn't recommend staying at the hotel during a holiday. But for a short trip, either for work, or in between stays, it is fine, and, as mentioned, the staff is really nice and helpful.
Old hotel and needs decorating. Due to age looked dirty (but wasn't).
The location of the hotel is very good, right in the center of London. The tube station Russell Square can be reached in 5-7 min. The staff is very nice, they have a 24/7 reception and the hotel is located on a street with little traffic during night time. The WiFi was working without any problems.
The rooms are very small, the furniture is very old, the carpet on the floor is a bit sticky. The bathroom is really tiny, the shower right next to the toilet, separated only by a curtain. The rooms aren't dirty but also the word clean would be an overstatement. Maybe it's suitable for spending one night, maximum two, but not more.
A smell of damp. Wifi not working Run down
location of room in basement, step into bathing area too high. dark and dingy smelt of damp in stairwell. do not know how it got 2 star rose award
Friendly & helpful staff
High ceilings in the room made it feel bigger Comfy beds
The bathrooms are terrible, looks like a caravan bathroom has been cut in half and stuck in the room
Tea and coffee available in the room. Very good location.
The Wi-Fi did not work in the room. The breakfast room was too small. The breakfast had few options.
We paid £74 for the 1 night for a twin room. The price was excellent for the location. But the whole hotel needs updating, the room wasn't dirty but it felt dirty and damp due to been old. The beds were crammed together so my feet were touching my mates feet. The shower took 20 minutes to get warm. The toilet and shower had such a low ceiling that we had to bend down to shower. The staff were ok for the little they had to do for us. There was a weird smell as well that I couldn't put my finger on. If u want a cheap night in London and don't expect much then this is your place. But be prepared to get what you pay for
Generally clean with a well made, quite comfortable bed, though pillows were quite lumpy.
We only met one member of reception staff who was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was poor, especially considering the cost of a night's stay. Because our room was close to the front door we had two disturbed nights. Room and bathroom was tight.
Location, wifi, friendly staff. value for money.
Breakfast was very poor and plain.
Room was decently sized and clean. The bed was big and well taken care of. There was a nice desk and TV in the room.
The free wifi was pretty bad and didn't always work. The drain in the shower smelled like sewage and diesel fuel.
Location was great, bed was comfortable. Private shower/wash room was good. 24hr access. Clean bed. Tea coffee and tv in room
It is basic and not immaculately clean in corners/behind cupboards. To be expected on a main road but could be noisy on a night.
Value for money Family rooms(4-6 beds) Breakfast included Tidy
Staff appeared dodgy and unprofessional but helped when asked.
location was ok
poor rooms, noisy, dreadful - if not inedible breakfast,
The breakfast was good. Cleanliness everyday. The staff took great care of us.
The room was small and also the toilet and shower were compact.
