Variety of activities and the location, the outside area was nice and clean and landscaped. The cabin was clean and tidy.
The accommodation was old and falling apart. Oven door handle was coming off, the toilet door lock was broken and couldn't be locked, the mattress in one if the rooms was collapsing, the carpets really old and marked. The staff, part from the lovely lady at the reception, was unfriendly (but helpful).
Very comfortable well appointed accommodation
Few facilities open during Christmas break - which we did not realise when booking. However excellent swimming pool was open
Pool gym soft play area
A bit of problem with television but they quickly fixed it
Location and setting was lovely, easy access to cowes and other parts of the island.
Fab swimming pool and gym , friendly staff , nice location
locks on bathroom door didnt work
The staff were very helpful particularly behind reception. It was lovely and quiet as we were out of season.
This maybe as it was out of season but whilst cleanliness was good, outside looked a bit tired. Railed of playground, green outdoor pool etc. just tidying up for the winter rather than leVing it looking unkept.
the accommodation was clean the beds were comfortable and the swimming pool was ok
we had to clean the outside furniture before we could use it we were told we didn't need bath towels as they towels but we only had 1 towel each for 4 days. The t v was out of the 1990
Close to cowes
How this was sold to us is not what you get. The hole site is very poor
Dirty, damp very tired needs redecoration and a good clean!
Great holiday, nice and relaxing, only a short break but wouldn't hesitate to go back for longer.
It wasn't clear on Booking.com website but payment is required up front. This was clear on Gurnard Pines website which I used to follow up when booking.com did not work.
good location good facilities
the accommodation is in serious need of modernizing, shame as it has the potential to be a great place with some investment
Kids enjoyed the fencing and archery.
Place looked nothing like the images and write up on line. Play area closed off marked dangerous other log cabins fenced off a run down. Place needs a coat of paint and looks on first impression run down. Site is more a residential site than a holiday one. Not what we expected at all and expected.
Staff were very friendly and helpful. Changing rooms were clean.
Our room hadn't been cleaned properly when we arrived. There was food left in the fridge, and there dirt and hair on all the beds. The cooker didn't work properly, the carpets where dirty, and the TV had a constant buzzing noise ?!
Beautiful surroundings. Friendly staff. Peaceful. Woodlandwalk was lovely. Bar was good for a quick meal and a drink. We all had a lovely peaceful relaxing time. Heating was much appreciated as we had lots of rain.
The pine lodge is in need of a makeover lots of things wrong inc hand rail outside very wobbly and unsafe drawers broken in bedroom hardly any kitchen equipment loose plug fitting, Verranda covered in old cobwebs beds and carpets old and worn. Pine lodge looks like no maintence since we came there 15 years ago with a bit of money spent on them they would be beautiful. No wifi in pine lodge.
Peaceful, soft play area, well equipped apartments
I think the overall outside areas can be improved, outside playground closed
It was close to where we wanted to be Staff were pleasent
Damp musty smell soon as you walk in. Not cleaned, dirty; skirting boards/floors, shower curtain, shower, radiators.... Hole in the decking outside with a strategically placed chair over it. TV making strange noises No towels until we rang for them. Children's play area fenced off, whole place needs a revamp. No shop on site
Perfect place to unwind & relax
The accommodation was spacious and comfortable, kitchen was well equipped and welcome pack was thoughtfully supplied with a nice new tea towel included. Staff were friendly and helpful. Indoor pool was lovely.
We had unseasonably cold weather for August and really needed blankets and a bit of heating in the bedrooms but neither were available. Spent a very cold and sleepless night.
Staff went out of their way to be helpful Excellent Leisure facilities including free tennis, indoor and outdoor pools, free table tennis
Accomodation needs refurbishing. Television did not work. Could be a wonderful place with modest investment.
Location is good, kids enjoyed monkey mansion and the indoor pooil, bar area is pleasant, kids food was ok .
Poor accommodation , spacious but filthy, whole site needs updating , beds old with springs sticking through, front door to the 'wood house' as my daughter called it, was a nightmare , big gap so key didn't fit . If you stay here don't expect much.
complete dump looked like an old school on a council estate very shabby dirty and smelly ,facilities pathetic needs bulldozing down
We had a few problems such as broken oven, bedtime 'accident' etc and the staff dealt with these promptly and were friendly. The kids (2 and 5) loved the monkey mansion and played there everyday.
Beds were very squeaky, not good when you are trying to creep out of the kids bed!
Location excellent and well signposted . Villa was excellent ,clean with laundered towels and bedding provided in the price paid . Welcome pack supplied was a pleasant surprise.
The absence of a small shop on the site selling milk and bread etc would have been handy. Larger areas required for car parking near the Villas, especially at busy times .
The complex was good all in all and the food was good. Very quiet and relaxing. Indoor soft play area for young children was excellent.
Beds were very uncomfortable, expecially the double bed for my pregnant partner, so were the sofa's. Apartment was clean in general although not around the edges were thick dirt and dust was left, this was not a build up of two or 3 weeks of dirt but was the result of quick cleaning.
Nice and quiet Not a bad location Great to take kids if you want to help them avoid getting into trouble, they can see first hand what a detention center is like The salt all over the dinning table, meant I could have a free wish
The toilet roll in the microwave from the last inmates, to mop the beans up Must I go on and re live the nightmare.........
