Locality, room decor, everything, witchery v close, we live 25 miles away and room cost as much as a taxi home. Good staff, excellent room, bar and the whole lot.
Location was great. Very central. Room was nice and spacious
Would have been nice to have breakfast included. It was super expensive. No bath
Rooms great size, clean well equipped a decent price and very well decorated. Bathrooms were amazing and facilities really good. Bar and spa etc lovely
Could get coffee machine yo work but didn't phone for help as not a big issue.
Quality of the room, excellent location, great breakfast.
Cocktail bar a bit pricey.
Lifts are not user friendly as they operate via a key card system which didnt`t always work, we had to move to the opposite lift on Two occassions (Needs to be resolved).
The staff are all friendly and helpfull from the first moment of arrival. Could not do enough to help. Would love to return one day
The hotel was really central, we walked everywhere around Edinburgh from this hotel. The staff we're exceptional ! Expensive to stay here but you always get what you pay for ... Would certainly stay again when we visit edinburgh again.
Staff were great Room was excellent Enjoyed the atmosphere Great breakfast/ bar
It would be great if the hotel had a sauna/steam room on site
A great location, with fabulous sound proofing! Nice big rooms, lovely toiletries, nice food and friendly, helpful staff.
The pillows and small windows, the room lacked natural light...small quibbles really.
The hotel is in a great location the staff were helpful . Rooms clean and well appointed.
The restaurant was over priced and not 5 star. The breakfast was very disappointing for such an expensive hotel.
Likes included room decor, bed & pillows, room views, free wi-fi, 1200 check out. Restaurant was a good experience too.
Only minor irritations like slow emptying sink & bedside cabinets with no drawers and little top space.
Great location, staff, perfect for being in the center of Edinburgh
The bar staff could be more attentive. Took forever to order and get a cocktail.
The location and the original Missoni designs are excellent, even though the bathroom walls and restaurant linens are no longer in their prime. It was like visiting an elegant aunt who had been unwell for a while, but still wanted expensive presents. It is not reassuringly priced - it is a rip off.
Inexperienced and indifferent staff, no dog bowls or dog blanket in the room, despite extra dog charge, no printed hotel info in the room, broken and leaking ice bucket missing a handle, chipped tray with room service, dirty coffee machine, flat and lumpy pillows, blistering wall surfaces in the bathroom, non-responsive air con thermostat, cold eggs Benedict for breakfast, the worst value for money EVER for a 5 star hotel. I hope to hear from the management soon.
Friendly staff, comfort, location
Having to pay an extra £35 for parking, ridiculous when already paying close to £200 for room
Comfortable room. Loved the shower and bathroom. Good coffee maker and comfortable bed. Nice location
We liked the free upgraded room, the superb cocktails, delicious food in Cocina, and the valet parking. WE are members of Gleneagles and have just returned from a truly incredible time in NE Italy. So for us to be impressed by a hotel in Edinburgh....that's something special!
Way to close to fantastic shopping and sight seeing!
Really nice hotel, room was modern, comfortable and very clean. Good hotel bar.
The staff were helpful, courteous and extremely pleasant - full marks and grateful thanks.
The coffee machine was not effective even after following the instructions to the letter. The water in the shower could have been warmer.
Colour scheme Hotel room cozy and comfy Staff friendly and helpful
Coffee machine did not work
The rooms were modern and clean .nice comfortable beds. Very peaceful despite being near the road.
The main thing we did not like was the breakfast. The Scottish cooked breakfast was very poor no taste to the food. No toast or haggis. The omelette was not cooked they took it back and brought out the same plate everything was then cold except the omelette . Very poor
Perfect location. Beautiful view from room. Friendly and efficient staff.Gorgeous room with fluffy robes and slippers.Fabulous toiletries and wonderful cocktails!
Location, breakfast and car parking.
They think lots of staff means 5* service; they are wrong. It's what the staff do and how well they do it that counts. There is work to do here. Was better as Missoni by a mile.
Friendly & helpful staff Location Breakfast Efficient lifts
Complimentry bottles of water being removed from the room without them ever being used. The one & only draught beer at the bar & its £5 price tag. No suitable Brandy to use as a 'Brandy choke mix' i.e. German Asbach. The Italian 18yr old Brandy price at +£9 a small shot - but it was indeed a very nice Brandy never the less.
location, ambiance, helpful staff
