The suite was absolutely stunning! The staff were so welcoming and attentive, nothing was too much trouble. The hotel was immaculate with attention to detail evident throughout. The choice of food was sublime! The service throughout the hotel was excellent.Atmosphere friendly. The location and views from the hotel were superb. An excellent choice for a relaxing break. Our first visit, but certainly not our last! The tea and coffee machine! The water wasn't as hot as it could have been.

The view from the room was amazing, in the morning i sat watching the surfers (even in November) and dog walkers on the beach. The wi-fi was a good network and signal with no restrictions which meant Sky-Go worked well through my i-pad. The bed was two beds pushed together and as a result had a raised bit in the middle.

Food was good. Breakfast not available until 8:30 on the weekend. So not taken as I was working by then. My room wasn't visited by hotel staff during my two night stay. So bed unmade, bathroom not tidied, dirty cup not replaced, etc.

The friendly, helpful staff were able to answer any and all tourist questions from a couple of Californians. There was also a pub like atmosphere toward the end of each day which allowed you to mingle/talk with the locals.

The location right on the coast and the magnificent views, sunset and sceanery. The hotel was very clean, comfortable and the staff very helpful and friendly. The food was always of a high standard. The room we had was very clean and comfortable but slightly small for the length of the bed. we only just had leg room to get between the end of the bed and the wall. As we are both slim people it was not such a problem but larger or elderly would struggle and possibly bang their legs on the wooden framed bed.

Close to coastal walks. Inexperienced and poorly trained staff; lack of reception staff; poor attention to detail; bedside lamp failed to work and toilet cistern ran all night on both nights despite reporting problem on first morning; food at dinner poor and service very slow (avoided dinner in the hotel after the first night and found a good restaurant in nearby Cardigan); breakfast buffet offer limited (no muesli available on second morning) and service standards poor and very slow; room and decor tired and 'sad'.

Overall we were pleased with our stay, however there are 1 or 2 little caveats which I will outline below. One point that proved both good and bad was the issue of a sea view. We were very pleased to find that your booking site provided the information regarding the nature of the view from the rooms on offer and even more importantly offered the opportunity to book a sea view. So often, and the thing that most puts me off booking through web-sites such as yours, is that you have absolutely no information about the views. If you are booking a hotel becuase of its location, the key information you want is whether your room has the view! I usually book direct with the hotel, but seeing that you guaranteed a sea view I booked with you. However, when we arrived, this created a problem because the hotel reception staff said that you should not have offered a sea view and they did not have one. They said they would be taking it up with you - well please do not change! As I have said there would be no point booking through you if we had no idea what sort of room we were booking. In the event it was not an insurmountable problem and here we have to thank one particular receptionist who rather than just being obstructive put his mind to solving the problem. After a fair bit of searching through his books he discovered that people who were arriving later had not requested a sea view, but had none the less been allocated one. He therefore switched rooms and the problem was solved. It was thus simply a problem of poor organisation from the hotel; knowing that you had rooms with sea views promised they should simply have kept those rooms for you and not allocated them to other guests who were not particularly concerned about the view. None the less we do appreciate the extra effort made by the receptionist rather than the more "can't be done" attitude of his more senior colleague (we do not know whether she was the manager or not). Although we were grateful to get our sea view, the double room was exceptionally small and cramped. We were prepared to put up with this for the view, but we did think the cost was a bit high per squre metre! We were not impressed with the breakfast arrangements. The tea was a serve yourself from a tea/coffee making machine, these never provide very enjoyable tea. We have come across such arrangememts many times in hotels that concentrate on the economy end of the market and its one of the reasons we do not generally stay in economy hotels, however we did not expect it from a hotel that presents itself (and certainly charges) as a mid-market hotel. A second small but important point was the issue of views again. A hotel which markets itself on its view should make sure that its guests get maximum benefit of this. At breakfast every one is allocated a table regardless of the presence of other guests at breakfast. Thus one can be allocated a table at the back of the restaurant with virtually no views at all, when there are rows of tables in the windows already finished with and empty. The breakfsat tables were very simply laid, just a place mat and cutlery, it would have taken no effort to relay the "prime" tables after they had been vacated for later guests to use - we would have happily moved our own mats and cutlery! However, it was not allowed and one other pair of guest were reprimanded for having done so and sent back to their allocated table! They complained that they couldn't see the reason and that it was a shame, but to no avail. It is attention to details like this that make a stay enjoyable and memorable. Thus whilst we did enjoy our stay overall and would stay again, we would out of preference try the hotel a little further up the road to see if it gave better customer care/ value for money.

This is the first time we have chosen this hotel and I'm happy to say we will return, we had a beautiful comfortable room with a view.. And felt totally relaxed here which was the purpose of our break... Breakfast was lovely, we live about an hour and a half away drive and ate before we left but on arrival the food smelt delicious so we ended up ordering a light starter..... Ooops ... But our stay was very enjoyable and we will return... Only hope it's soon !
