A little gem in the country side. The location is gorgeous and very relaxing. Close to several attractions, but far away enough to be able to disconnect. The food was excellent and varied. I would love to visit again, and spend more time here.

WiFi available only in public area, but then again, maybe we should not be stressing over work email but try to relax instead :) The rulebook says that formal or formal-casual dressing is required for dinner but it doesn't seem to be enforced if you're decently dressed.

    The location

Our room did not represent what was being advertised on the booking.com website for the guest house. The rooms photographed were much more luxurious than the suite we were given. The suite was cold and smelled musty. With a patch of broken ceiling in the bathroom and mould on the ceiling above the bath. There were also stains on the tiles in the bathroom which need bleaching.

Quiet location, very friendly staff, nice mansion

Hope in the future can have sort of traffic light for the 400-500m single land upward mountain road (some part is >20% no kidding) and no way can 2 cars squeeze through the road a bit challenging road towards the hotel on the mountain.

The food was wonderful as always. The staff are very kind & co-operative. It is very good value for money compared with the Dene Hotel in Chester.

We would have preferred twin beds. Disappointed that the vegetable garden is having a year's rest.

Very nice setting and the hotel itself is beautiful. Very handy for the beach as well.

Nothing major, the wifi was a bit hit and miss.

The whole high quality environment. The welcoming and conversational engagement of the staff. The high quality of the menus, food and drink in general.

Cider. Lack of quality reflecting the chemical approaches (Bulmers especially, and foreign stuff). Where were the quality and varied Welsh/Herefordshire specialist makers, such as Westons? Not so much a dislike, more an observation: some investment in the fabric of the building (ie stair carpets) will refresh and complement all other attributes.

    Extremely friendly and helpful staff

When booked online, Bookinf did not show which room booked! We were wrongly assigned to a uncomfortable room. Narrow road, locals (living close by)there very rude to tourists/ impolite to people from cities.

    14Th century building & location

Not business oriented as to breakfast timing needs, having to pay a credit card usage additional payment when overall invoice was in excess of £100. Very bad

The hotel bar, lounge, dining room were nicely furnished and comfortable and we had a lovely big room and bathroom . The food was excellent and service good

The hotel looked slightly shabby ie artificial flowers and old rugs in bedroom needed to go. Entrance and gardens needed sprucing up. Also out of 3 hotels only one that took payment ahead of our stay.
