Gwesty'r WebleyPoppit Sands Pembrokeshire Coast, SA43 3LN Cardigan (Show map) Very good, Score from 123 reviews“The location is very good, the staff are very good and the service fantastic I would recomend it to anyone”
Andrew,
Pontypool
Enjoying spectacular views out over the Teifi River, Poppit Sands beach and Cardigan Bay beyond, this charming traditional hotel has a stunning location that is truly inspirational. Croeso is Welsh for welcome, and with just 5 rooms available, this small, family-run hotel offers attentive, personalized service and a big, warm welcome. The hotel’s owners, Sandra and Simon, are welcoming hosts and will endeavor to meet your every request. All of the rooms are comfortably furnished and well equipped. Each room has a new flat-screen LCD TV with crystal-clear satellite reception. The hotel also has a wonderful pub/restaurant serving local food and real ales. However, it is the magnificent location that really sets the hotel apart. Overlooking the magnificent Teifi Estuary and ideally placed for visitors to West Wales, Pembrokeshire and Ceredigion, it is the peace and tranquility that make the hotel a great choice for a restful, relaxing, restorative break. Warm welcome. Good bar food. Hotel as a whole needs some investment. The window frames in our apartment were rotten and the hallway was musty. This could be an amazing location with some investment.

Our cold, dark, late, rainy arrival didn't matter any more once we were inside the hotel. The warm welcome we received from the owner of this small cosy hotel made us realise we had made a good choice for a nights stay while we visited family in the area. The 3 rooms we had booked were all clean and had everything we needed. The bed was so comfortable that for the first time ever we unmade the bed and made a note of the make of the mattress! We ate out with family that night but woke up next morning to the wonderful views across the estuary. The dining room was clean and bright and breakfast was good with all preferences happily catered for. After a walk on the beach we reluctantly had to leave. We can't wait to go back for longer in the better weather. E Everything was good.

We were walking the Pembroke Coast Path so the location of accommodation was crucial. Investigation on the internet showed the hotel ideally suited for our needs - this was proved so not only from logistics but also suitability and the scenery. We could not fault the friendliness of the staff or their intent to make our stay a pleasure.

The view from the room was spectacular. The food was excellent offering a wide range and well presented. Very hospitable place and very welcoming. Very outdated, but clean. It is a mixture of very old tired furniture with new contemporary furniture and service and its got all a bit mixed up! Could do with a complete makeover to catch up on what they are trying to achieve. Our host gave us a choice of rooms one with a view and a missing wardrobe door and another back room which was a bit more contemporary in layout, we chose the view - well worth it! Had to mend the loo twice, and shower head and thermostat had a mind of its own, but otherwise a very comfortable night.

The food is the restaurant is exceptionally good. Way up there. The service is also exceptional. The view of the estuary from the area with seats outside hotel really good for birdwatching. It is far better than it might appear on a quick glance from outside! All the staff are very helpful. It is on a walkers bus route and the beach Poppit sands has wheel chair access. Will certainly go back again!

Superb food, you must try their duck and a rabbit. Really lovely. Quiet hotel, good choice of breakfast. We liked the idea that the hotel had it's own bar and a restaurant. Lovely peaceful surroundings. The shower area was a little dated, would do with some redecorating. I didn't like the fact that you had to wait for the hot water quite a long time. The door to your room are a little bit strange with some dated locking system. We had a problem with our tv, the box kept switching on and off while we were watching. Also, our room had a roof view-but that wasn't a problem for us at all. Some of you who will book in future and want a see view, make sure you request it in advance.

Staff were very helpful. Nice restaurant area. Fantastic location. Nice room. Hotel looks shabby, needs a coat of paint. Shower not very good, not much water coming out of it. Because the hotel was quiet bar shuts at 9.00.

Excellent evening meal in Bar - which meant we didnt have to change or dress up to eat in the Restaurant. Shower very scruffy and could do with a good steam clean and skirtings everywhere could do with a coat of paint.

Truly outstanding catering for such a small hotel. The breakfast was terrific with plenty of fresh fruit and well cooked 'full Welsh'. Dinner one night was of Michelin star quality - unexpected but very welcome.View from our bedroom was wonderful, looking out over the estuary with geese and swans feeding at low water. We had a thoroughly enjoyable stay there. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Certainly like to return one day

A very nice pub/hotel with friendly welcoming staff. Fantastic location great views perfect for a relaxing break. It would be better if the meal and bar opening times were not so restricted. They lost a lot of passing trade and some hotel guests went elsewhere. The food was reasonable but failed to be the a la carte they were striving for.
