Free upgrade to King Room, plenty of space, good bar meals, good breakfasts, proximity to railway stations and not too far from Slate Caverns.
Minimal lighting, towels changed unnecessarily, soap, toilet paper and biscuits not topped up. A table (for the laptop) would have been nice.
The staff were friendly and helpful. The food in the restaurant was very good along with the service. Good value hotel
Noice from the bar below distrubed sleep several times till 1 AM
proximity to station Staff friendliness great breakfast cosy accommodation
For the price we had a very nice room and overall the staff were nice and the food was very tasty indeed ..we will no doubt use the gwesty hotel again
If we are being honest there is nothing that we did not find to be of any reason not to like
The food was excellent. Staff were always helpful. Bottles of water and biscuits in rooms were appreciated.
Having accommodation above front entrance could be noisy in the evenings. Only 2 coat hangers in wardrobe.
Food was very good
The meals were very good with a good choice of menu. Staff friendly and helpful although hard to find at times ! Beds very comfortable and clean.
Not much to do locally unless you have transport. Bar furniture and our rooms a bit shabby and the bedrooms need mirrors especially near the hairdryer sockets.
Staff tried to be helpful but were overworked. Good breakfast and central location.
Poor quality of furnishings - curtain and blinds did not cover the windows and we were on the main road so no privacy. Shower curtain was like a plastic bag. Supposedly dog friendly but we were not allowed to take our dog in the bar and were therefore confined to our room.
On arrival had to go and find a member of staff to book in. The shower temperature was only tepid.
- good quality of breakfast - fresh towels daily
- advertised here as a 4* hotel but it is not even a 1* hotel!!! - hotel does NOT have car park at all, you can leave your car in a pay and display car park behind the hotel and put money in there every hour - careless young staff (under 25's) - dirty bathroom - problem with cleanliness in general throughout the hotel - waiting far too long to be served in the bar due to young staff busy talking to friends - weak wi-fi
Location huge comfy bed huge room good breakfast choices
noise of floorboards at night moving the wardrobe when walked on
Staff were polite and friendly - the food (evening and morning) was very nice indeed
Staff were hard working, friendly and polite but could probably do with a few more of them. The room was nice and refured but the shower rail was damaged and the mattress could do with replacing - I found it very uncomfortable.
The location was convenient to the Ffestiniog railway, which was the reason we chose this hotel. o.k for a stopover, not sure I would stay longer than a few days.
The shabby settees in the bar area, gave a poor 1st impression, when going down for a drink.
Value for money and bed was comfortable. Tea making facilities, cookies and bottled water plus shampoo, soap and bubble bath. Packed lunch was good.
Lots of broken items including door handle, straps on suitcase rest and curtain rail in bathroom so no curtains there. Very dusty. Noisy kids on area outside hotel spoilt my early night. Initially put in a room already occupied by another guest.
Large clean room , excellent food and service, a young lady who was the bar attendant on Saturday night went out of her way to serve us drinks, even though they were very busy with a private function.
We were at the very top room which was very spacious and clean. The bed was comfortable although was just 2 singles pushed together. Shower was good and breakfast was nice. Service was ok. One girl in particular was helpful.
However the wifi did not reach the room nor the beer garden and there was no data signal on our phones. The room was also very warm which the girl behind the bar thought might be due to the boiler heating the hot water. Would have been more helpful to have a phone in the room to request things such as iron and ironing board (only one for whole hotel). Also there were no staff present during the night, but there is a number for 'on call staff member'.
Bed was comfortable and some effort had been put into preparing the room
No hot water Cracked sink in bathroom Restaurant closed Staff indifferent Bar area very tatty No marmalade available for breakfast
Breakfast good. Staff good.
Reception Interior shabby Bar sofas insult to customers Cobwebs on main light in bedroom Bedside lights not working
We stayed in room 14 and found that none of the pluming worked properly we had a shower and the water stayed in the tray it was still there the next morning the toilet wouldn't flush and when it did it made a very loud banging noise we reported this to the staff on duty on that day which was 12th till 13th of september we look forward to your response yours Steven Bywater
The choice of food in restaurant was very poor as was the service both at dinner and breakfast the next morning. No staff on reception either when checking in or leaving - had to go in search of them. No parking - had to pay in public card park. Unfortunately not much choice in this town regarding hotel accommodation.
Staff were great, couldn't do enough to help, and friendly too. Rooms were clean and on first impressions well presented. There were no real issues and the staff seem trusted enough, to exercise considerable discretion to sort any that may arise. Food is excellent and well presented. I would use this hotel again.
Having to check in in the bar. Having booked a twin room for my father and I we got a twin, when we told the duty manager, he gave me a second room for the night, and promised to sort it the next day, which he did. Rooms were a little thread bare, lights not working, wall paper peeling, extractor not working etc. All minor niggles rather than huge problems. This being said I would happily visit this hotel again in the future.
Enjoyable meals and good room. Central location.
Staff not god at check in and check out. They seem to have multiple jobs and very busy.
The hotel gives a good access to the Mt. Snowdon area as well as to Llechwedd slate caverns.
Used cups and spoons from the day before were not cleaned the next day. Cold breakfast buffet was very poor. Only a few cereals, milk and orange juice, some apples and a very tiny bowl with marmelade and honey. This was not value for money.
