Ideally situated for touring the Lleyn Peninsula and Snowdonia, this Victorian country house is set in one and a half acres of grounds, and is 5 minutes' walk from the beach.
Score from 54 reviews Very good
Great coastal walk Helpful and friendly staff Generous, tasty meals Sound of waves relaxing Very Efficient
Earlier breakfast would be preferable from 7:30am
Wonderful situation right on the beach. Amazing sea views from our bed. Sitting on the terrace with a drink, or a meal. Very good food. So quiet at night: the only sound being the waves lapping on the beach below us. A warm welcome as always - this is where we go for a special treat when we want to celebrate. As rested after a 24 hour break as after a weeks' holiday elsewhere.
The hot water had run out in the evening so we couldn't have a bath.
The view,nice room
Food just ok
location,room,food,staff, superb real ale !
the high volume of people with dogs on the terrace, all seemed to have at least two ! why do they assume everyone loves dogs.
The location is fantastic. Waking up to the sound of sea and the glorious view was a real treat. Staff all very friendly and service good in the restaurant. A very local atmosphere.
The green emergency light in the bedroom!! It needs dimming as it shone so bright all night long!!
Room was very clean and we appreciated the bottles of water and biscuits to go with the coffee/tea. It was also a quiet room with only the sound of the sea and of course the seagulls
We found the bed very uncomfortable and the room became very hot in the sun it would help if you could turn off the towel rail In the bathroom
sleeping to the sound of the waves, locals in the pub, nice little town, golf deal with Nefyn
The food - and the relaxed staff The lovely beach Beautiful surroundings. Locals talking and finding it interesting to talk to tourists. The view and the lovely beach. A perfect place for a family hang-out - if you are the kind of family that appreciate "the slow life" and relaxed days at the beach.
For 5 people - the room become very small. But it doesn`t really matter if you choose to be out and about most of the time. The lobster we never got to taste in the restaurant - sold out. What a pity!
Location, facilties, food, rooms
Lovely and friendly a great location to relax for a quick away break. The staff were all excellent, especially the man on reception who helped out with luggage and nearby parking place. The food was also great, with a lively, happy atmosphere in the restaurant.
Fabulous views of the sea, the beach and the Gull Islands. The hotel is literally on the beach. At high tide it's almost like being on a boat. At night we lay in bed listening to the waves only a few feet away. It was wonderful. Our room (the Love Room!) was very comfortable and clean, spacious and beautifully decorated with 3 large windows/doors for a maximum view. On the last morning we saw a school of dolphins swim the length of the bay quite close to the shore. The generous bathroom had a huge bath and powerful shower. The staff are warm and welcoming. The village is almost unchanged since I holidayed in Aberdaron as a child 40 years ago.The full breakfast included in the price was first class with tasty local produce. Staying at the Ty Newydd, Aberdaron with a sea view room is an uplifting and wonderful experience in an idyllic setting and at an incredibly reasonable price. We loved it so much that we are planning to go back next year.
Lunch and evening menus were a little bit predictable and heavy for our tastes. But there's a lot of choice, portion sizes are very generous and the food is inexpensive. We noted a lot of local families eating there which is sign that this is one of the better local eateries. Also this is a holiday destination attracting a lot of walkers and families who will undoubtedly love this hearty food.
This was not our first visit and won't be our last. Great location. Good size modern rooms. Parking now much better arranged than in the past. There are also some lovely coast walks starting right from the hotel.
Breakfast was very good, but would say the the evening meal was more average pub standard food.
Small issue with the booking was quickly resolved. Hotel is right on the beach and has a great sun deck to sit and have a drink while enjoying the sea views. Breakfast was great and staff all very efficient and helpful
Evening meal could have been slightly better. Dining room very noisy.
The staff were most accomodating and looked to seeing we were being , again, looked after from arrival to departure. The weather helped as it was glorious. Regards to all. Barney
No problems at all
Fantastic location and views
beachfront location so you can look out to sea and hear the waves from your bedroon
Hearing the sea at night was magical. The food was amazing too. The room was beautiful with sea views. Everyone should stay here!
Great location, average otherwise...
Excellent beach hotel in quiet village on the Llyn peninsular
Smell of frying from kitchen permeated room. Room was also above outside eating area which, on occasions, was quite noisy.
We were able to choose from a menu with gluten free options. The rooms were large and airy (we stayed in 2 & 6). The bathrooms were clean and tidy. The food was tasty and even the gluten free options were full of flavour
On occasion there were a couple times when we had to wait a while for a pot of tea, but no biggy.
Location (next to St. Hywyn's Church and coastline), view of water from room, convenience of restaurant.
Staff in restaurant--some excellent and some seemed indifferent, young woman at reception was really helpful
Great location next to beach - ideal for peace and quiet
The ambiance is good - easy going pleasant hotel of good standard. Breakfast is good. Rooms clean and fresh
Dining room very busy not particularly relaxing. Prefer to choose time I would like to eat - not a sitting time.
