The Gatwick White House Hotel  

The room was comfortable and value for money. It had a courtesy coach to Gatwick airport which was useful for an early flight

Service in the restaurant in the evening was slow and there was very little choice of dessert

Adequate for a stay before flying off early the next day and transport arranged was excellent.

We booked this hotel as a stop over between flights, its advertised as a 3 star (which is was in 2010) but the actual AA rating for 2012 has dropped to a 2 star. The room only had 1 plug socket that worked, the kettle was dirty, the bathroom ceiling was covered in mould along with the window frame, the plug in the sink was blocked up with hair & the hairdryer was covered in what looked like grease. This was a cheap hotel but you still expect a basic standard of cleanliness. Would not recommend staying here.

Left waiting for pickup on arrival for a lot longer than the promised 10 minutes. Minivan was filthy, hotel very run down, extremely basic facilities and room. Did not use shower as it was insanitary looking. Staff pretty surly. On return from holiday, they failed to pick us up at all so instead of staying in the room we had booked and paid for, we ended up sitting on the floor of Gatwick departure lounge from 1am to 6.30 am.

The staff weren't unfriendly, although they weren't always easy to find.

The hotel is shabby and dirty, especially the rooms, which had the feel of a halfway house for addicts or criminals. The double room I'd ordered was a single with an extra bed forced into it - the sink was too small to use practically in almost anyway, the carpet was disgustingly dirty and the room smelled awful - surely a bit of fabreeze wouldn't hurt their profit margins too much? The walls were also paper thin and we could hear every conversation along our corridor and in all the other rooms. This place is a hole. Pay a few pounds more and stay somewhere that doesn't make you ill.

The hotel needs a complete refurbish, inside and outside. Hotel has got 4 stars on wall outside I would say it deserves no stars at all. Room was dark, shower unit door broken and dirty so unable to have shower wife thought she might catch infection if she had showerd. Window needs replacing as catch not very secure. Overhaul would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

I stayed here as a stop over to catch a connecting flight In gatwick airport. I stayed on Both sides of my trip, The location is handy and the shuttle service is on request so there is no hanging around.

The night we stayed our room was at the top of the stairs, which had a lot Of creaky steps. We had to be up at 4.30 am so trireme to get som early Sleep but the noise was awful and our bed was not that comfortable. We also Had to ask for another bath towel as they only left 1 in the room. The 2nd night we Stayed there on the way back was pretty much the same thing. Noisey and we had to ask for 2 towels this time.

Cleanliness of the room poor (MOLD) room was dark & cold poor comunications, taxi pick up, no breakfast hot or cold, no tea or coffee available within the room.

Great staff very helpful with parking over 7 days on site the transfer to gatwick was really well run with a wake up call and a speedy trip to the airport at 4am .I had a great overnight stay and there's a cracking pub round the corner from the guest house (3 bells inn) can't fault the service location or rooms would book again
