For my purpose it was ideally located. Promised much from the look - especially as it was a Georgian building which I like. Easy to find, with good parking faciliites - not far from town for nearly all ameanities. My main comment is, on the whole, it had a very jaded feel about it. The booking in process was confusing, but I think that was more down to Booking.com not sending through my details.! (Make sure you print out any details especially the booking reference nuymber.! - if I didn't have this I'm sure the checking in process would have been more difficult). On the whole. I was very disillusioned by the general feel of the place, it felt unloved for what could be a very bijou establishment (unlike main-stream hotel chains which are cold, but at least clinical - you know to expect this). However, that said, I cannot complain too much as it was nearly £15.00 cheaper than the Premier Inn, which was my next choice, but, with a little more detailed effort the place could be so much better. I have no real reason to complain though - it was a place to "park-my-head" - but I don't think I would stay there more than one night.! Breakfast was offered, but far too expensive and based on my initial reception I would not have booked it anyway (Tonbridge, for better eating, not too far away).

This was a great night-away stay - good hotel in a quiet location. We booked a double with an extra bed for my young daughter but were given the family room, which was big, comfortable and allowed extra privacy for us. The shower wasn't really very good and the bath tub a little small. But I was more than willing to overlook this as the room far exceeded my expectations.

The rooms are reasonably spacious and there is good parking. The location is very peaceful and quiet. The room carpet was very dirty. I got a few bites on my legs. The shower pipe looked like it had never been cleaned. Although its quite big I didn't see anyone but the staff all the time I was there.

The staff were very accommodating and friendly. The location while in the countryside is only a short drive to Tunbridge Well and Maidstone. The hotel itself is very appealling and has a very tranquil feel. The rooms are quite spacious and well appointed nd definitely clean. We had a vey pleasant stay. The breakfast was a little expensive.

Clean & spacious room. Continental breakfast very good. Good base for exploring the heritage sites in Kent and East Sussex. Hotel quiet mid week and the few guests were mainly business people. It was ok for us but would avoid weekends if you want peace and quiet, as they hold many weddings. We arrived on Sunday early evening but there was no food available in the hotel. Not many guests so the restruant, when it was open, was empty. Did not feel that we could eat in there alone and the menu was quite pricey. Bar meals ok. Would have liked hotel to have a few English bottled beers! Also they ran out of caffienated coffee sachets for the room.

The breakfasts were good and the staff nice. I did not eat an evening meal there,The bar was quiet even when there was a big wedding? Party going on. The service was a bit slow as the bartenders were obviously doubling up elsewhere and bar meals stopped at 9.00pm on Friday. The beer was good and seemed well kept. The rooms were quite nice, clean with toiletries provided. They were well insulated from the noise of the party. I had a room which looked out on to a field. Lots of parking space. It seemed good for receptions at the weekend and was very quiet midweek. Nearest pub about 1mile away possibly quite good but I didn't try it and the village a bit further still with other pubs, fish and chips etc. I had a special room rate, I suspect weekend rates would be a lot higher. There was not a lot of 'character' about the hotel and they seemed a bit short staffed. The reception desk was not always staffed but the night sraff were quick and efficient when I locked myself out.

They actually had TWO comfortable chairs in the room, so we could both sit in comfort instead of one of us having to perch on the bed!

Convenient position. Easy to book in and out. Reasonably quiet location. Far enough away from the main road to avoid traffic noise. A little tired in decor, especially the bedroom. Small screen tv. My room overlooked staff smoking area and was noisy at 5am as the bottle bins were emptied!

A comfortable spacious room in quiet countryside, pleasant staff Due to functions there were no dining or bar facilities for guests. The nearest dining facilities were 25 minutes walking along a dangerous road at night. Had to get a taxi to be safe. Breakfast was extra but didn't start till 8 am when we had to leave for business . expensive stay just to sleep over

Excellent location, plenty of parking. Fantastic friendly, helpful and enthusiastic staff. We had an issue with our room and the lady at reception was most apologetic and understanding and we were given some money off our bill, which was very good of her. The rooms are of an excellent size, if dated and the bathroom is also huge. Continental breakfast was good, we especially appreciated the fresh fruit. Would return and recommend. I feel breakfast is too expensive. The cooked breakfast looked even worse value for money, however I guess businessmen billing this to their companies allows them to keep these rates. Walls are thin. I could hear next door talking and snoring!

Very comfortable. Staff are courteous, efficient and personable. The location in an extremely pretty part of the country is ideal. Not a complaint, just a query. We appear to have been charged the agreed rate of £118. for our 2 nights' stay. However we also appear to have been charged an additional £59. unexplained (on 8/8/11). please explain

The location was lovely. Appearance on approach was very nice. General Decor was lovely. Room was a nice size and very quiet. As we didn't dine at the hotel I cannot comment on the food. The cold water tap ran continuously, I did report the fact that I couldn't turn the tap on initially, this was obviously due to the water running continously and needed a new washer fitting. The bath did not have a soap dish and as the edges of bath were sloped all round ones soap continuously fell in the bath which was extremely annoying.
