Was just a nice 20 minute stroll down to Lake Windermere!
excellent accommodation ,very clean and comfortable. good position for travelling to all the tourist spots and close to town. staff very helpful and cheery.lovely breakfast .
parking , only 3 spaces at the back and in road parking at the front difficult as people working in town tend to park there during the day. there is a public car park near by but not as convenient. had to sit in road and wait for a space.
They go above and beyond they duties
Friendly and homely B and B with a warm welcome and great accommodation. This B and B was quiet and peaceful despite being located just a couple of minutes walk from the town. It was also perfect for the bus route to Bowness and beyond. Parking was not an issue making the stay uncomplicated. A great choice of breakfasts including a full vegetarian and the Haisthorpe vegetarian special. We had a fabulous three nights exploring the area and returning to the sanctuary of Haisthorpe House for sleep and breakfast before the next busy day. All guests were made to feel welcome and at home. A great place to stay.
Very friendly staff, lovely room, central location and fantastic breakfasts.
Can't think of anything.
Great location and very friendly place
Not a lot to dislike but I was working on the breakfast was a little late
The room was clean and all the house was nice and homely.
The staff, on the other hand, didn't make you feel very welcome, as they seemed stressed about the amount of guests they had. No need to take it on the guests, we all have problems. I hope they improve on this.
Walkable location from the centre of town
Friendly staff who were happy for me to get there earlier than normal check in time to leave my bags. The breakfast (especially the vegetarian option of sweet potato and chestnut hash was delicious!). Fantastic location for walking. Would recommend to anyone wanting to stay in the area
The b&b was very clean ... Quite close to the shops ..the staff were very nice
My only problem with the b&b was the breakfast ... Not nearly enough 1sausage a spoonful of beans & 8 mushrooms cut very small ... Not really filling for a well built man ...so put extra sausage & mushrooms on the breakfasts then you've cracked it .... Other than that it was lovely .... Would recommend x
Superbly managed property bang in the middle of town with many food options in the main street a five minute walk away. Excellent breakfast for the price.
Why are rooms in English homes so very very tiny?
Very clean room. Excellent location. Proprietor not 'in your face'.
Mattress poor and metal framed bed made too much noise.
Very good quality bedding, very clean all round.
Use of low energy bulbs in the room meant it was too dark.
The location was good and the 4 poster bed was comfortable, unfortunately that is all...
We were shocked by the "welcome" or lack thereof we received from the owner. Without even a "hello", she instantly berated us for the inconvenience of our arrival as we were scolded like children for interrupting her dinner. We were made so uncomfortable by her rude demeanor that we went out of way to avoid any further contact. We certainly won't be returning...
We've spent a wonderful weekend at Haisthorpe house. Room was beautiful and breakfast was excellent. Definitely would recommend it to everyone.
Room fairly warm, clean，But very small
Accommodation hostess, cares more about her life than residents I would like to borrow a refrigerator at night, but I can not find the hostess, Although I think she was in her private room, how do I knock on the door, no one answered the door One day, I accidentally locked the door, I asked the hostess to help open the door, I felt she was unhappy attitude, very unhappy with the attitude, And before I leave, I want to use the toilet, she refused my request, because she did not want to clean up again, before I was a guest , and before I left. I throw away trash, such as clothes, she asked myself away, the residents have no right to throw away even the trash? I was carrying a huge and bulky baggage at that time.Really do not know what she insists is? I stayed there for two days, she did not organize my room in the second day, mineral water and store luggage count the money, although it is donated to disadvantaged groups, but the price, I think this service should not even count the money, Room fairly warm, clean, but the service here is not warm
Location and staff
The friendly atmosphere, warm welcome and the staff. The room - although a single room, the bed is a good size. The breakfast with a varied menu to choose from, good cooking and presentation.
The tv located high on the wall which makes viewing uncomfortable, but this is common in many b&b's and hotels.
Excellent location; the house is right in town so was a short two minute walk to the shops and restaurants there. Beautifully decorated room- we had the smallest room and was still more than enough room for us. Large bathroom. Breakfast was excellent. Staff was friendly and helpful. All in all a great experience!
Nothing- was an excellent b and b.
Lovely room. Lovely breakfasts. Lovely staff. Lovely location. All in all ... er ... Lovely.
We enjoyed our stay in this little guest house. The room was lovely and our bathroom had a hot tub, which we very much looked forward to after a day out. Breakfast was individually prepared and offered a nice selection. Little details like the maps and walking-guides and other tourist information, and the umbrellas, which were free to use gave our stay a very homey feeling.
The host was very friendly and offered excellent suggestions for some walks we could do each day. Room was very comfortable, clean and equipped with all we required. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Breakfasts were also great.
Nothing we didn't like!
A wonderfully quaint B and B with really friendly staff. Food was lovely with great choice, would definetly stay again and recommend it to anybody wanting a few quite days away from all the hustle and bustle of daily life!!
a very pleasant stay
