The description of Halford House as an hotel is deceiving, because an hotel it is not, it is a B&B. Bed & breakfast is all that it has to offer, there is no restaurant, no bar, no room service, all of which you would find in a hotel.

My husband and I decided we would get away for one night. With "Bourton on the water" only being an hour away we thought it to perfect place to stay. Halford House is beautiful and we definitely will go back possibly even with our children. What was even more inviting was out beautiful dog was VERY Welcome too :-)) Mandy greeted us on arrival and was exceptionally lovely. She made a fuss of Monty and was very accommodating. Breakfast was yummy and overall our stay was fantastic. We would highly recommend the Halford House!!! :-))) Fantastic stay..... Would recommend 100%

We had a lovely stay but our bed was incredibly hard and breakfast offered little other than hot food - continental fare, particularly cereals, wasn't very inviting.

The staff, especially Mandy, were very helpful & obliging. The room was well proportioned & fitted out. Quite luxurious actually for that part of the countryside! The town is great to visit & there are some nice eateries. Well worth a visit & the stay at Halford just set it off perfectly. From Australia.

The frteindliness of the staff, they were always polite and efficient, and the Jupiter Suite we stayed in was excellent. THE ONLY DRAWBACK FOR MYSELF WAS THE BREAKFAST, it was served lukewarm instead of hot and the Bacon was undercooked.

The location of the hotel was fantastic. so central and close to the shops and restaurants. The hotel itself is a beautiful building and very nicely decorated. We had the most warm welcome from Mandy who looked after us perfectly. The rooms were comfortable, clean and modern. All in all a very pleasant stay and will definitely return.

We had a really warm welcome from the manager, she was very inviting and informative, nothing was too much trouble. She showed us where breakfast was served and then to our room and gave info on places to eat that evening. Our room was immaculate, comfortable and stylish although smallish, which didnt really bother us as it was just a one night stay. We were greeted by the manager in the morning as we went to breakfast. My husband had the full english which looked really nice, I had boiled egg and dippers, there was a choice of cereals and toast was brought to the table. I overheard a couple of people ask for things which were not on the menu and these requests were no problem to staff. Breakfast was leisurely, more tea was offered. A really enjoyable stay There was nothing I didnt like, although my husband would have liked a bar for a late night tipple!

Our room still had the old beams exposed which is a fantastic feature. The hotel is situated in a great position. Although, I would assume that is the same for the majority of all hotels in Bourton. The full english breakfast was not great. We were hoping for a much more lavish full english, that we have experienced elsewhere. The heated towel rail in the bathroom was very noisy for some reason.

The staff were extremely friendly and efficient. The rooms were excellent and of a high standard. The location is ideal being 1 minute from the town centre. Guests could be offered a table for dinner on arrival (fine dining) at the Dial House, the sister hotel to Halford House. This would ensure that mutual guests get the chance to have dinner there. We missed out because all the tables were booked. The breakfast was only just warm which did take the edge of the visit. The rooms are on the high side for price. Given this there is an expectation that everything will be excellent. It would have been 10 out of 10 if the food had been piping hot!

Very pleasant, clean room We have 2 complaints regarding Halford House 1. With the temperature outside at -6 degrees the breakfast was served in a room that had 1 radiator about 1.5 meters long, a huge log fire fire grate that was NOT lit. It was bitterly cold. 2. The keycard access to the house was unreliable and on one occasion when nobody was in the house we had to go to another hotel to find a member of staff to let us in. The following day we found a Keycard in the Car Park that did allow access , which brings into question the security of the property
