We were only here for a night but needed to go in the town for breakfast. There were plenty of places to eat, a cinema and shops. We liked the facilities and would visit again. There are lots of lovely places around to drive to within a reasonable time, such as Caerphilly Castle and Cardiff.

McKenzies cafe. they do the best food in the area, breakfast to die for, staff are soooooo nice and polite. They were so helpful in sorting out a "Takeout" for the journey home. Parking (at the time) was free, behind the main street (coming in off the roundabout 50 yards on the right, sharp right). Asda, drive past (on your right) about half a mile, turn right, half a mile back to the shop ?? Nice cinema.

Blackwood is a small town with the main road holding most of the pubs, restaurants and shops, so easy to get around. There is plenty of parking in the town including a Lark car park if you do some shopping in ASDA......Also good for the lowest cost fuel in the area. If you want fast food, there is a KFC, Domino's, MacDonalds, Papa John's, Fish and Chips, Subway's, plus more. I like to eat at Red Chilli Indian, Bistro 8, Amici and The Black Prince Pub.

Great location with beautiful views, Food was to a really good standard with the exception of the steak and ale pie (steak was a little tough) but everything else on the plate was good. The room I had 104 was a little dated and the poor Wi-Fi made it difficult to carry out emails etc. but the bed was extremely comfortable. Really liked having use of the facilities and would recommend the hotel to others.

Nicely situated hotel up on the hill providing a nice wiev to the surronding area. The hotel was clean and romm was spacy enough with a good lightning inside. Traditional Welsh breakfast was just perfect served in a nice restourant with the view to golf green and over the valley. The hotel staff was very generous and helpfull.

The whole apartment is very well decorated, super spacious and comfortable, just what we needed! Rob was excellent in organising for the key to be given to us. Good location if you're willing to drive after attending a concert in Cardiff and If you want to avoid the extremely high prices in the city.

Lovely old Manor House in beautiful grounds but as a hotel the fixtures and fittings are well past their best. All the bedrooms and bathrooms need total renovation. The food this time was much better than recent visits but a little pricy. The stay was value for money. Plenty of parking.

Beautiful hotel and location. Obviously used for weddings, sue to its opulence, the exterior is grand and the interior original and historic. The restaurant dinner was delicious, and the breakfast (optional) was plentiful!
