Most bedrooms at the lodge are on the ground floor, with just one or two steps leading to the front door. There is a ramp on the side of the main building for access to the bar and restaurant.

The Halfway House offers comfortably furnished lodge style accommodation in the Annex at the rear of the main building. Traditional inn style rooms are also available, situated within the main building.

Area information

For a shopping trip, visit Clarks Village at Street, 13 km (8 miles) from the hotel. With easy reach of the Halfway House are the Fleet Air Arm Museum (6.5 km / 4 miles), Nine Springs Woodland (7.2 km / 4.5 miles) and Ham Hill Country Park (12 km / 7.5 miles).

If you fancy a longer journey, the city of Bath, Longleat Safari Park, Monkey World, Cheddar Caves and Gorge, Wookey Hole, Stourhead Gardens and Glastonbury are all within easy reach.

Travel information

By Car:
- Leave the M5 at junction 25 and join the A358 towards Ilminster.
- Join the A303 heading eastwards.
- Leave the A303 and join the A37 towards Yeovil.
- The lodge is easy to find on the A37 halfway between Ilchester and Yeovil, just past the speed camera.
