Sehr schönes Ambiente!

Ruhige Lage (außer bei Hochzeiten), Nähe zu Durham, super Essen (wurde im Garten serviert), schöner Garten, Durham Park & Drive super hilfsbereiter Busfahrer. Er hat beim Ticketkauf geholfen, die Abfahrtsstelle für die Rückfahrt auf dem Stadtplan markiert und ist dann auch noch bei der Ankunft in der Stadtmitte mit ausgestiegen und hat nochmals den Weg zur Haltestelle für die Rückfahrt erklärt.

Hochzeitsfeier am Abend - dadurch Bar / Restaurant nicht nutzbar (aus ansonsten leerer Bar wurden wir verwiesen), Wir hatten Twin gebucht - bekamen aber zunächst ein Doppelzimmer direkt über der Musik zugewiesen.

Nettes und hilfsbereites Personal. Teilweise sehr schöne Zimmer. Vom angegliederten Pub ist fast nichts zu hören. Optimal für die Durchreise.

Während ein Zimmer absolut top war, war das andere leider etwas klein und hatte ein nicht mehr zeitgemässes Badezimmer.

Lovely setting,friendly staff,excellent food.overall very pleasant stay.

As a solo traveller, the friendliness of the staff is more important. The staff at Hallgarth Manor were all very pleasant and helpful. The location was good and the garden pretty. Quiet and comfortable room - particularly snuggly duvet!

Nothing, but just being picky - there was only one teabag in complimentary tea and coffee, and another milk would have been welcome.

Staff were all helpful and friendly, nothing was too much trouble. The food was very good. The atmosphere was perfect. Family friendly too, I was very happy with the service the hotel is lucky to have such dedicated staff.

My room was grubby and cold, there was damp and peeling paint and the kettle and plug were dirty, I had to clean the kettle before use. The bedside table was sticky with stale or spilled liquid that had not been cleaned away. I could not use the wardrobe as there was only two hangers and the wardrobe was dirty inside.

The location was picturesque but close to the city and only a short distance to the Park & Ride for Durham. The bar food was good and substantial.

Creaky floorboards and noisy water system, but it's an old building, so to be expected. Not a big deal in the scheme of things.

Staff were friendly, food was good, bed was comfortable, bathroom good and site was good.

Bedroom was a little shabby, if we had not paid a reduced rate, I would not have been happy. The first night we could not get a meal in the restaurant because there was a function on, the hotel should advise people of this. The hotel had not heard of sound proofing for rooms.

The friendly staff and the food is lovely. We loved the style of the Manor. We had just been married and it was my husbands birthday the weekend we went so it was a double celebration for us and we weren't disapointed, we have been to the Manor a number of times and we love it.

Rooms were quite small with low cieling. Cleanliness of room was poor not been hoovered under the bed for a good while I would say

Customer service was outstandingly good. Every single staff member was friendly, helpful and professional. The hotel was spotlessly clean. Breakfast was plentiful and served in a lovely room.

I had dinner in their adjoining pub. The food was tasty and well cooked but the atmosphere was like being in a truckers' bar. Very old, cheap tatty furniture, harsh lighting, bar surrounded by hard drinking regulars who were pretty hostile and I really had to brazen it out as a woman with baby, wolfing my food as fast as I could. Don't mind such rough bars at all really, but totally unexpected as the hotel is so smart. Seemed a strange set up at odds with their advertised image of a country manor hotel.

Bathroom needed updating some cracked tiles. Bath too high to climb into. Shower didn't work Would not have been happy if paying full price for the room.

Old manor, cozy feel. So quiet at night it was peaceful. Rooster wakes too early but nice!

Mould in shower so could have been cleaner but overall, very clean room.

staff friendly and helpful, lovely views. lots of old fashion charm

we couldn't eat in the dining room as there was a party that night so we ended up with a bar meal in the attached pub, the food was nice but full of locals just drinking, so service very poor. Would check before booking if there were any functions on.

The restaurant serves excellent food. The rooms are beautiful and comfortable.
