We love Goathland and the NorthYorkshire Moors! In the 7 years before we moved here we came to visit on holiday no less than 13 times. So we have a real enthusiasm for the area and hope that it rubs off on our guests as well as serves them to make the most of their visit. We both enjoy walking and this beautiful scenery is a great inspiration for Angie's love of poetry and Rick's passion for photography. Angie also likes to bake, which is a real bonus in a guest house. When we get time in between running the guesthouse and our other hobbies we like to get out and explore the area on our motorbike.

Welcome to Halmer Grange, our family owned and run Victorian Guest House in Goathland. Built in the late 1800's Halmer Grange is a characterful building situated at the quiet end of this picturesque village surrounded by the outstanding natural beauty of the North Yorkshire Moors National Park. At Halmer Grange our main priority is to ensure that our guests are comfortable, relaxed and really enjoy their stay with us. We supply extras such as Wi-fi, chilled water, cakes on arrival, robes, toiletries, books, board games and dvd's, a real home from home experience.

Neighborhood info

Goathland is famed as the location of the TV show Heartbeat's "Aidensfield" village. In fact Halmer Grange is featured in episode 5 of season 16 "Memoirs of a Fighting Man". Goathland is also a stop on the popular North Yorkshire Moors Railway. The village station, which is only a 15 minute walk from Halmer Grange, is famous as "Hogsmeade" station from the early Harry Potter films. With walking trails through stunning countryside in every direction, and being located half way between the National Park Centre and the North Yorkshire coastline, there is an abundance of breath-taking scenery to be enjoyed by hikers and photographers alike.
