Hampsfell House Hotel  

Loveld hotel, very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was lovely. Good location for walking. Very friendly hotel.

Drinks were very expensive

Very friendly staff, very attentive and helpful. Garden lovely. Evening meals absolutely superb - venison wonderful. Breakfast very nice. All in all a relaxing, well run hotel. You just relax as you walk through the door.

The resort itself is very small so you need to be prepared to take in the surrounding area.

The room and the friendly staff plus the food was excellent!

The staff at Hampsfell House were friendly, helpful and efficient and were able to meet all of our needs. The bedroom we stayed in was clean, bright and had everything we needed. Breakfast was wonderful and we also spent a very pleasant evening in the bar/restaurant. The location was perfect for us - we were visiting Cartmel just down the road, and we were able go out on a fabulous walk straight from the hotel. We were there just for a short stay but would love to visit again to make the most of the area.

I loved the setting, the log fire in the bar area, the family friendly nature of the place and the cooked breakfast was a guilty pleasure - forgotten how good fried bread can be :-)

The bath towels could do with being a little bit bigger!!!

Third visit. Family run, log fire, traditional, comfortable rooms, good food. We use as a retreat to walk, relax and be a couple again.

If you want a late night as a family run hotel, not possible. They will soon point out they have to be up to do breakfast and start clearing up around you. This is not a criticism, but consider if that is what you want.

We had a nice room with a bath and shower overlooking the gardens. ( room 6 ) There was plenty tea, coffee. A flat screen tv. The breakfast was very good, and plenty tea or coffee. We had full English and toast. I believe the food for dinner is very good to, but not to our taste. There is a nice Chinese in the village. Overall very nice indeed. Would recommend.

It was up a narrow road and half way up a hill. It didn't bother us to much.( We are in our 60s ). If you are bad on your feet you will need a car (or taxi). Apart from that nothing else.

The food was amazing, very tasty. Good vegetarian food. Helpful owners. Cosy bar area. Good location to start walking from. Great room and high-quality en-suite. Great location in a pretty town. Nice toiletries and plenty of them.

Room was small but well furnished and decorated. Food excellent. Pleasant lounge with wood fire. Really pleasant hosts and staff.

Quiet &restful

We enjoyed the beautiful location and great walks from the door and would love to be able to enjoy the gardens and terraces in spring or summer. Our room was comfortable and warm as was the dining room and the lounge with log fire. We had excellent cooked breakfasts and one evening meal which was good value.We enjoyed our stay.

A little gem of a hotel on hill-side location. We had a spacious, warm,comfortable room with 2 easy chairs and lovely view over the garden. The en-suite was also very spacious with both large bath and walk-in shower and all the toiletries you would need. The food both at breakfast and evening was of excellent quality and plentiful. Good location for walking up onto the fell and also just a few minutes walk down the hill to the town.
