hotel is very good.
Restaurant/snack is awfull.
Seating for breakfast
Everything was amazing :) as always...:) see you soon)))
Nothing to report here!!!)))
The rooms were extremely clean and modern. Good location off the motorway and a restaurant on the business park next door to Subway was lovely.
The breakfasts are hard work so if you're looking for a leisurely experience I wouldn't bother. The buffet area is very cramped and doesn't really cater for the volume of people at weekends, likewise with the seating area - stood up at the bar is not how I've ever eaten my breakfast!! The lack of staff doesn't help either and the staff that were there were rushed off their feet. Definitely a hotel catered for business/workers not a weekend leisure break.
i loved everything the room i requested to be downstairs they made sure i had the room was spotless breakfast was yummy and the staff were perfect thankyou xx
there was nothing i didnt like x
price was greet
Wifi in room. Plenty of sockets . Large shower cubicle. Plenty of towels . soap dispensers with shampoo etc. Hairdryer and Iron with board in room. Good breakfast choices. Good bar and food/snacks .
Quite a few flies. Alive and dead . So as quite a few were dead I assume problem is being dealt with.
We (2 adults & 1 six year old) stayed for one night recently and enjoyed our time at the Hampton by Hilton. It was very modern, the gentleman on reception was efficient and the room was beautifully made and impeccably clean -always a massive tick in my book!
The only thing we did not find an enjoyable experience was the breakfast. Im not referring to the food as this was ok but there wasn't enough seating and lots of things had run out. We eventually managed to perch on a central breakfast bar area amidst the crowd of people trying to get food. I appreciate 'things' run out at self service areas however it seemed low on a lot of things eg. cuttlery, mugs, glasses, plates and coffee. There were members of catering staff around, it just didn't seem to come together unfortunately which meant people were 'on the hunt!' As I said, the food we had was good, shame about the experience.
the chic décor of the room modern walk in shower the size of the towels the sofa the amount of plug sockets loads of lights trendy wardrobe the bed was really comfy shampoo/conditioner and shower gel was complimentary the corridors were very clean and modern blinds as well as curtains- very handy
Easy to locate, comfortable room access to local restaurant where we had a great meal. Good breakfast at hotel - excellent value for money.
Clean room with comfortable bed Gym facilities Price was good as I only booked a couple if hours in advance
Menu and food is limited and sime kitchen standards.
Gym, powerplate. Nice design and interior of bedrooms and very nice corridors leading to the bedrooms.
Smaller rooms than previous Hampton by hilton hotels I've visited. I think the price is a little high for newport Booked a twin room and had to have a sofa bed and a bed which wasn't comfortable.
modern, clean hotel - lovely spacious room with comfy bed and modern, stylish décor. Free wifi a definite bonus great value for money. En suite was sparklingly clean! Good range of breakfast choices, which were kept topped up. Full English was well cooked and tasty.
Glass sliding bathroom door was stylish, but didn't seal and made us feel a bit "exposed". It didn't close very well (gently sliding open when I was on the loo) When I tried to pull it firmly closed the "finger hole handle" went partly behind the framework making it difficult to get hold of to open. Breakfast was lovely but there weren't enough tables for everyone (we all seemed to arrive at about 9.30a.m. so maybe a longer and later breakfast slot at weekends would spread everyone out?) Neither of the above would put us off returning though...we had a great stay, thank you
Have stayed here several times and am glad to say that its still very good. Staff friendly and helpful.
The staff great and hotel extremely quiet and clean. Good work. Keep it up.
Wi fi poor reception and always turning off. You needed to keep logging back on every time. What a shame.
staff where very friendly and helpfull. And the breakfast was just the right choice. ie full english, continental and cerial plus toast. tea/coffee.
Buffet breakfast included
Bar and Restaurant could have been better
Convenience to motorway. Everything you need and comfort.
Unable to open windows. I prefer a little fresh air rather than rely on air conditioning, even though there might have been some traffic noise.
The smell on the first floor and seeing plates on floor outside rooms
The room was really nice, spacious and clean.
The bed could have been more comfortable in my opinion. It was rather lumpy and so were the pillows.
Very nice and modern shame about room being too hot n stuffy
Aircon didn't work
Location (next to the M4 if you are passing through), value, clean, modern, most staff very friendly/helpful. We picked this hotel because we wanted to watch football on Sky, but when we arrived someone had requested the Ryder Cup all day. It turned out well though as we walked to the Wheatsheaf in Magor, where we found friendly locals who we played pool with, and good food in the restaurant. During the night I was woken by the frameless glass door to the en-suite in my room shattering! (I'm guessing it's toughened glass that hasn't been heatsoak tested). Rung reception, and Bruce was really helpful sorting out an alternative room even though he was the only member of staff overnight and was also running the 24hr bar! Many thanks Bruce. The Sawyers restaurant next to the hotel also looked good if you don't want to leave the site. I was moved into the only available room, which was the disabled room - this was one of the best disabled rooms I've seen if that's what you are looking for.
Cooked breakfast not the best, although I doubt there's a proper kitchen. I'd probably make myself a sausage sandwich next time, as the scrambled egg had a couscous texture, the bacon was hard and the hash browns inedible. Pastries, toast, cereals, coffee and tea were okay. Bed wasn't the comfiest, and if you can hear traffic at night, check the corridor window is shut.
Room, cleanliness and location.
The room was very warm and there were no instructions on how to adjust the air conditioning
staff was very friendly. especially a member of staff. she was on duty on the morning we check out. very friendly she tall about size 10 to 12 mature lady she got a grand daughter or son.
the bed was unsafe getting on and off because of the frames
