In the heart of the city, McLays Guest House is well located for visiting Glasgow’s many museums and art galleries and is just a short walk from lively Sauchiehall Street and Buchanan Street.

Featuring rooms with free Wi-Fi, a 24-hour front desk and traditional Scottish breakfasts, this traditional Victorian town house is just over a quarter mile from Glasgow’s King's Theatre and Charing...

The breakfast options were amazing and they were always offering more so they get a thumbs up from me
The room didn't have a window but in that type of building you can't change it
Price was reasonable.
everything was very basic, cheap, and tired. But at the price this was no surprise. Very convenient location for city centre, but a lot of steps both to the premises and in the premises.
towel was hard and small terrible
Great location - easy walk from city centre and a good range of bars and restaurants within easy walking distance
This is basic but good accommodation, I've stayed here before and would be happy to stay again - about the only thing I'd flag up to anyone reading this, is this is an old building, on top of quite a steep hill, and there are a lot of steps up to the front door - maybe not ideal for anyone unfit or with limited mobility.
Excellent location. Friendly, helpful staff.
Dining area can be a little small and cramped, but the free breakfast is very good.
Nothing would not recommend to anyone.
Everything.. The manager was very rude, the room was not clean. The carpet was covered in dust and mould but was tried to be hidden with a chair which was broken..when telling the manager he stated we should of checked room first and there was nothing he could do. Worst hotel ever! Would not recommend to anyone.
A value for money for a central Glasgow stay. Staff is friendly and attentive.
Location Breakfast Polite and accommodating staff
No fresh fruit with breakfast
Good location, good breakfast and helpful staff
Bed a little uncomfortable and room lacked a window
Staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was clean and surprisingly quiet considering we were in the city centre. Good wifi service provided free of charge. Lovely breakfast served by very attentive staff.
The guest house is in a Victorian building therefore there are a few flights of stairs to reach the front door - however the staff were very helpful and helped us with luggage in to the building and out again the following day so not so much a negative as an observation!
The staff were polite and helpful.
The breakfast room was way too small. We had to give up and go out for breakfast. Vinyl floor in bathroom old & worn; grout in shower appeared to be moldy. Long steep staircase hard on wife with bad knees and daughter with bad leg.
The staff are so nice and friendly. The price we paid was a bit too much, but it was during the commonwealth games, would definitely stay here again. The breakfast was good too. Nice and central to everything. Keep up the good work guys...and hope to see you all again soon :-)
staff very helpful on directions, buses etc. breakfast very good
stairs on top of stairs - too many for me, perhaps they should ask when you book if you have a problem with them.
Prices sky high for the Commonwealth games so was lucky to find this one which was not a Rip _off.Friendly family guest house.Good breakfast
Bit of a walk to the central station
Got a good quiet night's sleep and near centre, though uphill
breakfast room pretty cramped
Position ok and helpful staff
Everything else was extremely bad: one room has no windows and the air conditioning didn't work. The rooms and the bathrooms were very dirty, sheets weren't clean. The floor was terrible. 90£ per night to be paid BEFORE seeing the room. Just don't go!
Guess house was good friendly staff. breakfast good and clean dinning. Would stay there again
Little pricy for guest house but given com games ok.
Staff was friendly
The room I stayed in was very small, blinds broke. It would need a bit of TLC it wasn't worth the price I paid
Too many steps Breakfast too late for guests on business or working 7-30. Parking impossible Owner very offhand
Great break fast really enjoyed the service,
Centrally located, Cambridge St. car park near, good breakfast, big family room, friendly staff
Very friendly helpful staff, that went out of their way to please and accodate me. Breakfast was also very good.
Not having en suite bathroom and sharing down the hall. Location of room first night at below ground level.
The shower was quite good, despite the tiny cabin.
No shutter in the windows. In mid July, full Scotish summer, with the sun rising before 5 am, it is nearly impossible not to wake up. Uncomfortable matresses. Double bed too small. A torment to sleep, especially for my 6-ft tall husband. Low quality linen. No upper sheet provided to cover up, only duvets. Aged, darkened towels. Two of them were dirty, with stains. Really disgusting! They were immediately changed, but without giving much importance to the fact. In the breakfast room, the white cups had dark stains of tea inside, showing that they had not been properly cleaned. No offer of fresh fruits for breakfast, only canned fruit.
Great breakfast Pleasant helpful staff
not en suite. a lot of stairs to the top!
Staff excellent. Good location
Very worn out tatty accommodation had to pay a huge price for this cheap un cheerful place. Went for the Commonwealth games - and £200 had been added to the usual price. Of course you expect to have the price increased when a major event is being held in a city, but £280 for staying in this place don't quite know how they had the nerve - had no choice there were no other rooms under £600 available in the city for that night we had to stay. In my opinion the usual rate is too high for the quality of accommodation provided. But staff were very good.
