The location and the staff were very helpful and friendly. The rooms were very basic and of a very poor standard they could do with being revamped!!

The welcome from reception staff was warm and friendly. The room was simple, clean and quiet. The service from the dining roomstaff was efficient and friendly and the breakfast was very good - freshly cooked to order no matter that I ordered 5 minutes before service closed! I especially liked the helpful attitude of the receptionist when asking for advice on where certain shops etc. were and for offering use of the hotel phone when my mobile was not available. The decor was a bit gloomy and needed updating. Although the history of the Beatles Liverpool connection on every wall was an obvious one, the presentation of it could have been much improved - or dispensed with altogether.(There are plenty of other references to the 'Fab Four' throughout the city and its not as if the Hanover Hotel had any special connection with them.)

I liked that it was in the city centre, staff were friendly, price was right, room was good for us, four mates just looking to put the head down after a night out, also it had pool tables beside the bar which we spent time at. A basic hotel which I would return to. T.V. in room didnt work, no radio in room, would have liked any of these things while getting ready to go out or just chilling out in the room.

We stayed at the handover for one night as a stop over for us to go to a show at the emipre theatre. We loved that the hotel as it was a 5 minute walk to the theatre, as we don't know liverpool at all, we found this hotel a great place to stay, as it is right in the centre. Also the hanover offering breackfast was the selling point as we didn't have to worry about where we would get this, but also the bar food offered in their bar was excellent value and scrummy. We will be staying at the hanover again when we decied to visit liverpool again, well done hanover!! Our only faults were that the rooms heating is on a timer, please leave this on when you know the room is being used as the room takes along time to heat up, and fix the wobbly headboard.

A great hotel in a great location - Bars, Cavern etc. Always excellent and friendly staff (have stayed there 3 times now), nothing too much trouble for them. Excellent breakfasts and lots of it. In short - a truly great hotel.

Good location next to nightclubs and shops. We were meant to have 3 rooms x 1 double bed and 1 bunked and ended up with 1 x double and 2 singles, 1 x double and bunked bed, and 1 x 2 bunk beds. Should be more specific of what bed are in each room.

the breakfast was excellent and the waiter was very polite. we were not hassled by staff and could come and go as we pleased. booking in was good however staff staff the bar as well as the reception so if it is busy there isn't always some one on the desk. room small for purpose beds crammed in , double bed had no mattress protectors, and springs where poking through mattress.
