Great hotel, well organized, great staff, room was much larger than a typical room of that level (I had the Executive room). Lots of storage, clean, comfy. Free Wi-Fi! Would definitely return.
Unfortunately the tv was impossible to watch, no matter what station I tried, I assume it was internet tv or something, had I stayed more than one night I would have reported it, but it was late so I just read and slept!
Everyone is so helpful and friendly everytime we have stopped here. It is always so relaxing and very easy access to a lot of places of interest.
There is nothing we dislike.
Friendly staff. Room was quiet and very comfortable for a family of 4. Good breakfast- didn't charge for children under 11
Room was lovely and comfortable.
Shower needs attention water too hot when showering.
Comfortable, old style decor. Staff generally helpful. Good meal on first evening in the restaurant. Good WiFi connection in the room which is very important to me personally when travelling. Fairly easy access to mi motorway. Good bus service to nearby Luton from which one can take a train into London. We did a day trip to London like this which worked well. Large car park free of charge to hotel guests for rental car parking. Dunstable Priory (old church) opposite the hotel has a lot of history associated with it going back to the 13th century.
Dunstable has a lot of traffic congestion, which requires planning if one is to avoid delays during rush hours. No fridge in room, though there is a space for one. No safety deposit box in room. The tv is small - a minor gripe as we don't watch much tv while travelling.
Having lived and grown up in Dunstable, I was very familiar with this hotel. I held my Wedding Breakfast there some years ago, used a Conference Room, & had eaten in the restaurant a few times too. However, this was my first stay as a hotel guest.
The 2 seater sofa in my bedroom was lumpy and uncomfortable to sit and relax on. The WiFi struggled & was inefficient. My husband and I were unable to use either the bar or the restaurant due to Wedding & Christening parties spilling out into the public areas from their own venues. We had to venture out when we shouldn't have needed to!
Mostly good all round.
bit slow on check-out - need more staff at peak times,
Everything we needed was available. Our room was lovely, bed comfortable and location of room was very quiet. would certainly recommend for other travellers.
Breakfast was an extra £11 each even though my children are 12 and 11 and one of them didn't have cooked English breakfast. Also no toast. Room was nice but a tight squeeze to get past the bed.
Very friendly staff. Made to feel very welcome. Couldn't do enough to help you.
Not very well sound insulated. Noise from first floor guests was dreadful. Could clearly hear toilet ablutions, constant feet overhead and you could hear the guests talking. We were kept awake on the first night for well over 2 hours and rudely awaken at 5.15am the following morning. The second night very similar but they quietened down sooner.
Nothing about my stay was good at all except booking out
Was not clean staff treated you like you were an invonvenience water was cold the breakfast was also cold the toast was like leather whe. Complained refused service
I would stay here again, central location, ideal for what we needed on our trip. Good value for money and a nice tidy room.
wifi was poor I couldn't connect however this wasn't a major problem to me only saying as it may be to someone else.
Loved the ambiance of the hotel. Food & breakfast was very good.
Didn't like the fact we was offered to sit at a uncleaned table with the last peoples left overs. Took a while for the chap to clean & take our order.
Location - easy to find and close to Bletchley Park where we were visiting. Wifi is excellent. Dining in small room (due to a wedding party) enhanced our evening meal experience - our waitress, Perlitta looked after us very well. Comfortable beds and pillows.
Room had no air con and subsequently was very hot overnight. After a very good quality evening meal, breakfast was disappointing (individually ordered but not clearly not cooked to order - arrived warm not hot). Majority of staff were focussed on the wedding party and seemed distracted.
Wifi is very good - room pleasant and comfortable, good breakfast reasonably priced free parking
Staff were excellent
Room smell Old socks left in a drawer Constant drip of water from toilet cistern very annoying damp patch on wall/ceiling very uncomfy bed
The staff were very friendly and accommodating.
The small bathroom
We was upgraded to a lovely room made our stay perfect. Would definitely stay again
On arrival, the hotel seemed nice enough, though somewhat gloomy. The restaurant menu put us off by its extreme dullness. Breakfast seemed fine but, as it turned out, only in comparison with everything else about our stay.
We returned in the evening to find the wedding party from hell going on. A crowd of drunken, smoking guests blocking the entrance, wild crowds inside - loud drum and bass music (which went on into the early hours). Obscene, shouted arguments in the corridor outside our bedroom also into the early hours, Just as we finally got to sleep we were woken by fire alarms. That also woke the kids in the room next door which was when we discovered the walls were paper-thin. I now see on another website that this has happened before. When we mentioned the fire alarm in the morning (after navigating past someone scrubbing the vomit out of the corridor carpet) we were told that was at 6.30 am, as if that meant it didn't really matter. We pointed out that we had only got to sleep at 6 am so it did. The hotel needs to be honest and warn guests when they book that a wedding party is going on. OK, some weddings may be fine. This one was of the 'let's all get roaring drunk' variety. That is NOT compatible with accepting other reservations at the same time. I wrote a full, detailed account for the manager - was assured I would get a response. Have I? Oh no, not a word. Now, I am a writer and broadcaster and I have stayed in hotels all over the world. I searched my memory for a comparison and could only come up with a night in Rumania just after the fall of Ceaucescu. My advice was only go there mid-week and make quite sure there isn't a mid-week wedding. If you need a break from the hotel, the French restaurant, Chez Jerome (?) just down the road is excellent. I fervently wish we had stayed at the Holiday Inn.
The executive room was nicely sized with a sofa. TV was well placed, would've liked a few more channels. Ample parking and super convenient location. The hotel was really clean and the staff were really pleasant. Hotel seemed very well managed.
The hotel was too busy for us to consider a table at the restaurant. But this was understandable being a Sunday and we received fair warning from the receptionist.
Spacious rooms Big television Location
Very noisey both inside and outside the hotel Had 5 hours sleep due to noise in the hotel until 3:30am hair in shower
If you have business or are socialising in central Dunstable, then this in a great location
This is the second time we have stayed here. Unfortunately this time we ended up with a room that barely managed to facilitate a double bed. The over-bath shower & shower curtain was not very good. Hopefully this is a one off!!
the room was very modern and clean and comfortable and the bar food was very tasty
make sure there is not a wedding reception being held there because of the noise, although we were moved and upgraded
The staff were lovely.
