Lovely room with very comfy bed and not at all noisy despite our room overlooking the car park. We really appreciated the taxi service to and from Luton Airport which was included in the room rate; so much nicer than getting in a mini bus with several pick up and drop off points. Thought the cost of breakfast was very expensive.

The location was easy to find and plenty of parking. The hotel was clean and well presented and staff friendly. The rooms were very comfortable and had every thing you need. The restrurant was great and meals well presented. Overall a great pick. Would recomend and stay again. On both day functions were held at the hotel and there was a noticeable lack of a quiet area or bar for residents that were not part of the function.

My American Fiance (on his first trip to the uk) and I thoroughly enjoyed the warm, homely surroundings in the room and the lounge bar area. The bar snacks were freshly prepared and good value for money. The staff were professional, non intrusive and made our stay over Christmas/New Year a memorable one. We would particularly like to convey our thanks to James, he is a real asset to the Old Palace Lodge and I hope we will see him again when we return later this year.

The only thing that I liked is that all my shopping was possible in a very short distance from hotel. The people working there are unbelievable. The day we arrived the outside temperature was -1 degrees. When we entered the room, we realised that it was cold. As we would immediately go out for some shopping, on our way out we notified the receptionist that the room was cold. She said very naturally "It's because the heating is off!!!!!". We asked to switch the heat on. When returned (30 min later), the room was still cold. I tried to call the receptionist but the phone was out of order, so, I needed to go to the reception area myself. I complained again for the heating only to receive the answer that the boiler is scheduled to start at 16:30!!!! They even questioned me when I told them that the phone is not working (an employee had to come to my room to check it himself!!!). Anyway, terrible service, employees not willing to help. Not going to choose it again.

I enjoyed a relaxing stay to meet friends I found the room very comfortable and ideal for what I needed. The only thing I didn't like was that the room was paid by my mother and booked on her card . I was asked to pay for the room when i arrived i stated as above and the receptionist said not to worry i'll sort it for you . The next morning whilst i was checking out i was asked again could i pay my bill for the room which at this time it annoyed me as it was going to be sorted the day before , Its not a complaint I just believe the receptionist must need more training on communications with other receptionists .

Even though there has been a wedding at the hotel on every occasion that we have stayed, this has never interfered with nor devalued our stay. We love the warm feel of the place, the oak panelling, the large bar and the superb Christmas decor. The newly renovated room was excellent. The staff at Reception, were polite and efficient. We really enjoyed our stay.

It was central for our stay visiting friends in Dunstable. I like that there was a settee in the room so you could sit somewhere other than the bed. Best breakfast menu that I have seen.

The food was excellent. Service was prompt and courteous throughout. It was ideally located for our purpose for being in the town. The history of the hotel was interesting. It was a very great shame to see that the extremely old public house next door to the hotel had been the subject of an arson attack - 2 apparently. It was a bit off-putting on our arrival to see the burnt out shell of the next door premises.

Had plenty of character. Good location for local attractions. Very welcoming. Beverage and breakfast prices a little expensive. Some leisure facilities would benefit the hotel. For £80 per night I would expect a pool at least.

I stayed on 9th August, the night the pub next door burnt down. I would like to thank the young lady and young gentleman for their proffesional conduct, they got us all out of the hotel and then did a check of all our names. They then arranged for us to go to the pub up the road for a while before arranging for room at another hotel. Once again please convey my thanks to them.
