We stayed at the Lake Hotel in October and enjoyed a relaxing break there. Room was good size and had a balcony onto the lake which offered a great view. Decor was a little dated in the room but facilities were good with all that was needed. Dined in the restuarant for evening meal and breakfast; food was very good and well presented. Overall a very enjoyable stay and would consider staying there again.

Beautiful lakeside setting Good parking Helpful staff Duvet cover did not look as clean as I would have expected. Bath plug was a metal swivel flap located directly under the tap; thus any water flow would tend to open it..

Beautiful setting on lake.Staff exceptionally helpful.Smoking facilities could be better outside, especially when weather very wet,as it was for uor stay.A Covered area would be a bonus! The main areas eg reception,bar/lounge very welcoming but the bathrooms in need of an update! Overall a pleasant experience and will return. Bathrooms antiquated and need updating.

Nice lakeside setting makes this sizeable, tucked out-of-the-way hotel a little special. Plenty of free parking next to the door. Nice rooms with good sound insulation. Decor a little worn, but still within acceptable limits. Just the right mix of friendliness/anonymity from the staff. Bit fiddly to get to, but worth it. If coming from the M4 motorway the signage is wrong (at the time of writing). Carry on to the next roundabout, turn right, then trust your satnav.

AZ great view from the room over the lake and a balcony to view it from. Really made waking up there a pleasure Definitely not the easiest place to find, very tucked away and recent road changes really flummox any satnav that is not fully updtaed for its mapping

The staff were so helpful. Whilst they missed the comment that I was travelling with my 2 daughters and needed an extra bed in the room on my booking, when we arrived the staff did everything to accommodate us. We ended up staying in a suite with a room for my daughters and a room for me, overlooking the lake - very comfortable and the views in the morning were stunning. Thanks for a lovely stay.

Beautiful location in the middle of countryside even though just outside of town. Very comfortable room with an idyllic view, just right for romantic sunset or early dawn.

We were attracted by the price of the weekend break, £90 for half board with the option to cancel before 2 A.M.same day without penalty. The three course dinner menu was imaginative and very well cooked and presented but extra vegetarian option would be welcome. Some of the restaurant staff lacked a little finesse. Varied choice at breakfast was good. Herbal tea selection would be welcome. Only stayed one night but would happily stay for whole weekend to explore surrounding countryside.

Room overlooking the lake was the best aspect of the experience. Breakfast area/restaurant quite shabby and grubby and, along with the rest of the hotel, in need of a significant update and maintenance program.

Excellent views over the Lake My room was in need of 'surgery'. The wardrobe door top brackets were broke, there was not windows to let in fresh air only 1 large door to the balcony, the toilet seat was chipped and marked, the shower continually drip throughout the night.
