really great staff and they tried hard to please.
The room and meals were excellent. The leisure club with a swimming pool next door was an added bonus. The service in the public rooms was attentive and efficient. Just the quiet, relaxing break we were hoping for.
A little more light at the dining table in the evening would have been better
Good location for our needs. Quiet room.
Restaurant staff unwilling to ask the kitchen if we could have a vegetarian option. Actually said ' you did not let us know you were vegetarian before you booked so it not possible.' Not a customer friendly response.
Very friendly helpful staff. Great location. Room was really spacious and comfortable.
The only thing was that the whole place was far too hot.
Location was good. Breakfast was good
Asked for a canal side room and although we got one we where put in the attic rooms so the window was tiny and the big round window, which you couldn't see out of,was mouldy and waterlogged Between the double glazing. Also the drinks where ultra expensive, over £10 for 2 drinks
The room was clean and comfortable, if a little dated
We had no hot water which destroyed the enjoyment of our trip, there is nothing worse than a cold shower during the autumn
Gym and leisure. Bar had cask ales. Breakfast excellent.Meal in restaurant very good.
Our room had a shower fitted in the bath. The bath taps did not work. I was not able to have a bath as a result. It appeared to be a plumbing problem. The owner patronising residents over breakfast.Good owners do not need to.
The view from the restaurant was superb and our room was generously proportioned. The staff were all helpful and friendly and the hotel made a good base for walking in the Yorkshire Dales.
Having stayed here before our son asked if we could stay here for his birthday. The room was comfortable, facilities great and staff we very helpful. We had a delicious evening meal and great breakfast in the lovely restaurant which has a fantastic view!!! We will stay again.
We had a room at the front of the hotel and as a light sleeper I was woken in the night by traffic outside. I am sure if I asked next time I would be accomodated in a quieter room. Other guests in the room were not affected by the noise!
Ate in hotel first night rubbish menu and service awful in fact wanted to order sweet but walked out after waiting 20 mins to place order.Sat night ate in the indian next door better food and service.Have been many times to hotel in past wont be going again.
comfy beds, good hospitality tray
no shower cap
Bathrooms in the bedroom
Room,view,breakfast and position
Bar seating. Not enough smaller tables.
Lovley hotel, wish we'd had more chance to use the facilities, short ride into town so well suited for tourists.
At £9 per head we decided to skip breakfast and get one in town, not cheap
Staff were extremely helpful

Good location Plenty of parking Swift check in Large clean room
The whole hotel particularly the corridors, lifts, bedrooms and bathrooms are all a bit dated.
Lovely view from bedroom overlooking the canal and view from the Dining Room.
Poor Wifi even in main reception areas. Mattress unbelievable soft unable to sleep-but that our own preference.
Totally shattered when finally arrived and ordered room service. Warned that it could take a while as the restaurant was so busy, but it arrived very quickly which was really appreciated. All in all, our experience was unfortunate, but under better circumstances, the hotel would have been perfectly comfortable and supposedly just four minutes from our business venue!
Took an hour driving round Skipton to locate hotel due to nearby road closure that perhaps hotel could have emailed ahead about as other hotels do. Manager did her best to help give us directions on phone (running out of charge) but was also flambeeing in the restaurant so very busy. Receptionist unable to help and unfriendly when we finally arrived.
Excellent fish and chips Nice view over canal and fields Easy to find and park
Having to lug my case up steps from the lift and not being told about this when I checked in. As a woman travelling alone, being given a room at the top furthest from Reception Room in roof very hot, but noisy win window open Bathroom needed updating
The setting and ambience of the hotel is excellent. The guest facilities were very good, and the staff mostly very friendly and attentive.
The people doing the laundry for guests need to sort colours out before washing. My experience was not good - the jeans were washed with all the white clothing, and the white came out quite blue! However, no complaints about the service. The Reception staff were sometimes a little abrasive when asked questions.
Far too expensive for rooms that have not been updated for 15 years.
1)Leisure facilities closed at7pm on sat veg 2)North Sea pie containing salmon and peppers very small. Was accidentally overcharged good thing I checked the bill No veg with this meal 3)stayed here to break our journey from Scotland to London. The noise was horrendous Sounded like people below us having a party in their room with the windows wide open Doors slamming throughout the night till past 5am No apology from reception until my husband mentioned it 4)told it was a 20min walk into Skipton Perhaps the lady at reception could actually try it one day. 5. The white wine was served warm.
Music outside room a bit annoying but otherwise ok
