Breakfast in conservatory watching the swans/ducks. Not being rushed to finish breakfast. Size of my bed and lovely linen. Liked having a sofa in my room and opting for a canal view room.
I'd like the parking spaces to be wider. I moved out of my first choice as I felt I was so close to the car next to me.
Location, comfort and cleanliness of the hotel, and the friendliness of most staff.
Did not like grumpy waiter who having seen we were using the wine glasses for water (no others available) at the evening meal, assumed we were not interested in any drinks and just walked off, this resulted in our eating out the following evening.
The twin room I stayed in was clean and spacious. The food in the conservatory restaurant was first class and reasonably priced. The view from our room was very picturesque (we overlooked the canal). A thoroughly enjoyable stay and would recommend to family and friends.
Loved the outlook of the twin room overlooking the canal. Easy access to walks and towns. Leisure club a bonus pool very good after a long days walking.
Nothing all good.
Location, by the canal. Good size family room. Spa facilities good
Having to sign into wifi every time to use it. Changing cubicles in the spa would be preferable.
had to keep logging in to wifi. very anoying
It looked nice
I was angry that every time I went out the hotel I had to have my key card reset, my card didn't work when I tried to get into the leisure club we stood waiting for 15 minutes before we were let in when I did get in I was the disgusted at how dirty it was the room was only cleaned 1 day out of the 4 nights I was there this was because we were back in around 4 every day to get ready for the evening this is when the rooms were cleaned they couldn't get into ours because we were getting ready the shelf fell of the dressing table and bruised my wife's hand badly this is only a few things and I have never complained about a hotel but in this case it was just to much money not to.
Free car park nice pool
No hot water at 10.30 in the morning
Excellent service. Fantastic food. A really lovely hotel. Great views over looking canal and hills.
Beds a bit hard
Dining room overlooking canal. Excellent buffet breakfast and very comfortable beds.
Poorly sited toilet roll holder. WiFi difficult to access and poor reception.
Very friendly and efficient staff. Housekeeping excellent. Room spacious, comfortable and spotless. Didn't make it to breakfast as I slept in both mornings.
Great location next to a canal. It's a good base to explore the area for walks or stop for a well deserved rest on route. There are no airs and graces, it is a comfortable and considerate hotel with friendly staff. Breakfast being the most important meal for me was hearty and generous.
Although the rooms are fairly sound proofed some door stoppers would be useful for exterior doors which slam loudly. It was disturbing to hear people come and go.
nothing of note
Size of bedroom Comfortable bed Car parking facilities
leisure facilities and room space
Need to do something about television signal.
Poor water pressure for the shower. ( 4th floor room)
The food and the friendliness of the staff. The room was excellent. Everything really.
breakfast and restaurant meals are excellent the staff are polite and helpful
there is no air conditioning in the bedroom so they were hot and found it hard to sleep comfortably at night
Helpful friendly staff. Good location to be able to walk into Skipton. We were travelling by motorbike and arrived early. We asked if we could change and store our luggage until we could check in. Staff could not have been more helpful and accommodating.
We were given the disabled room 101 which did not have a bath. The toilet seat was fixed. Mr P had to sit down to pee!! WiFi was not working however this was out of the control of the hotel. It was a very hot weekend. We requested a fan however they had already issued all they had. The staff were very apologetic. I know it is an expense, however I have been to many hotels where fans are available in every room. This meant we had to have the windows open. As the room was situated next to the reception and car park this was very noisy until quite late at night.
Facilities were good, staff friendly and a large spacious room. Although it was a little out of town we enjoyed a lovely 25min walk from town along the canal. Breakfast was fantastic and great value.
Style of room (407) was a little dated and pictures seems rather strange choice for the room. Didn't look like much thought had gone into it.
The view from our 4th floor room was superb. The staff, whilst very efficient, were friendly and very ready to help without having to be asked. Will certainly return
The location was really good. Having use of leisure facilities was good. The food was very nice especially the stroganoff which was cooked at the meal table.
The service was poor, staff were stretched in the restaurant, the bar and the initial welcome was curt to say the least. we ordered wine at the meal table which never arrived, others around us were in the same situation. At breakfast several people had to ask time and again for tea and coffee.
big room wifi bar / public area clean bedding comfy beds modern bathroom
no a/c in room - very hot noise from main road with windows open cost of breakfast entrance unappealing coach trip feel
standard of the room was better than expected for the money, clean, spacious and modern. staff very friendly and helpful breakfast ok too.
noise from the road, with young children on hot summer nights we had to have windows open because of temperature, noise from road was a bit disruptive to their sleep. annoying/ badly thought out that all the family rooms are road facing. but probably only a problem in hot summer with windows open, otherwise would be ok. there was no fridge in the room- apparently you can request from reception which we did, but when we chased it up we were told there were none left- a bit annoying/shame not to have a mini fridge during hot summer especially.
