Not much to say really. Almost all of the staff were polite and friendly, and the amenities are what you would expect. One night's stay was pretty reasonable at £39. The room was incredibly small, but reasonably clean. One member of staff was rather antagonistic and unprofessional at check out, which was a real shame as the rest of his colleagues were polite and charming.

The some of the male staff serving breakfast and dinner were unfriendly and rude at times. There were ants in the hotel reception areas and toilets. A guest had room service and the tray was left outside their room all day, even though the maids had cleaned/serviced the roomsand was not removed until I complained to reception.

Great English breakfast that can be build from your most favorite ingredients, staff at breakfast been so attentive and helpful. The entrance to reception is so difficult to find especially if you arrived at night and it was your first time - signs "reception" exists but not lighted and small and because of that invisible at night time. Very untidy bathroom looked like, with yellowish bottom of curtain and black stains in the corner of bathtub (looks like mold's). Besides that the water tap of bathtub was leaking and shower hose was sprinkling - real challenge to have a shower. And it is I understood morning that this hotel is De Vere Hospitality Academy - there is a lot to show to students what should not be in the room.

Nice and clean, comfortable room, excellent breakfast, some staff were very helpful I asked to have a bright reading lamp in my room and one was waiting for me - that was nice. Supper was good. Leisure facilities - didn't have time to use, and only saw part of, probably OK but small. The layout upstairs is confusing, and that is not helped by having a group of photos which are repeated every 20 feet!. That is completely barmy, and unimaginative and makes the hotel feel characterless which it is. It has absolutely no personality. Signage is poor. One lift does not go to the ground floor but there is no sign that tells you that. No details of meal times in my bedroom. Lack of information and poor signage for the leisure facilities, which I came across by accident but couldn't work out where the entrance was. If you are walking to the hotel finding the entrance is not easy. It is right around the back, although there is a welcoming sign at the front!

Location was ideal for my work purposes. Breakfast was well laid out. Upon arrival I checked in and was just pointed in the direction of the stairs as the lifts were out of order, finding my room was was like finding a needle in a haystack. The room was very dated and in dire need of a facelift to bring it into the 21st century. Bathroom was extremely rundown, toilet seat hanging off, towel radiator not working. No heating had been turned on, with it being -1 outside it took several hours before I was able to remove my coat. To top it off, the curtain was about an inch too short and allowed the light to shine in whilst I tried to sleep. Overall I expected better than a Travellodge!!!

The location and Price was excellent. Had meal in the bar area, they had a new system till system installed the day before so the staff were getting used to it. My main arrived before I had my starter, they took the main away and dealt with it professionally. After my starter the main arrived with apologies by all staff and I was offered a complementary drink due to the confusion. The error was well handled and the Steak was very good.

Once you find the entrance to the car park, it is straightforward, convenient and efficient for a business traveller needing the basics of a comfortable unpretentious room and good breakfast. Excellent location for startung off eastwards in the morning as you are past all the potential congestion and away on relatively quiet roads. Splendid value if you get the cheapest offer. Too hot overnight - admittedly in a mild period in December, but I had to open the windows and then get outside noise. Not a serious problem.
