Enjoying spectacular views of the Snowdonia mountain range, this family-run hotel offers a warm welcome on the west coast of Anglesey, just minutes away from the beach.
Score from 351 reviews Very good
This homely hotel rests in the North Coast of Anglesey in the old fishing village of Cemaes; ideal for beaches, water sports, fishing, walking and birdwatching. Golfing is available 4 miles away.
Score from 90 reviews Superb
Only 100 metres from the beach, the guest house has a great location, just 3 minutes' drive from the ferry/rail terminal and 2 minutes' walk from the town centre for pubs and eating places.
Score from 130 reviews Good
Tafarn y Rhos is a B&B with great views of Snowdonia's mountains, and a pub serving food made from local ingredients. Llangefni is 1 mile away.

Friendly staff. We had lovely breakfast which set us up for the day. Evening meal was excellent, good value for money. Would definitely stay again. We had a balcony room looking over the harbour which would be lovely in the summer.
Great location, in general the hotel was adequate and clean, staff very helpful and courteous, food was excellent.
Room was dingy at best, wifi none existent, kept having to have router rebooted, bed uncomfortable and the bathroom was full of mould, for the money it really wasn't good.
the food is excellent and not overly priced, the service from the staff was helpful, pleasant and welcoming. You can top up your milk, tea and coffee as you wish and an iron and ironing board is available without having to search for staff to get it. The view of the harbour is lovely, across the road down some steps is a lovely walk by the river all tree lined and well kept.the room size was ample for our 3 night stay.
our room was over a function room so had very loud music until midnight 1 night .we were told this was a public bar however not allowed to go in on the day we attempted. The bathroom in room 16 was in need of an update and the shower area was tiny with dirty tiles and grout. the hotel could do with some elbow grease. I would still go there again.
Double bed was comfortable Breakfast Temperature of the room
Single bed was very uncomfortable "Family" room was very small Broken tap in bathroom Extension cable placed on top of radiator Could not open wardrobe doors - no room Window opened too wide without protection - supposed to be a family room Doors looked to have been "kicked in" at some point Lampshade looked like it had faeces wiped all over it
I am a widow and therefor alone on breaks so can feel a bit awkward. I did not feel like an intruder at the Harbour and I will take a break with them again if they have the room. I had a view over the harbour which was delightful. The food was excellent and could not be faulted, so much so that I am already looking forward to dining there again. The bar person was able to assist me to link up with my WiFi which saved me a lot of hassle. I have cats and not dogs so I know how good it is to find a hotel that is at dog friendly?, my cats stay at home as it would not be logical to have them stay with me but it is good that dogs can stay with their owners.
The room doors were rather loud when people closed the door but this is often found in many hotels because of the fire regulations being applied to old buildings. The floors creaked a lot, again, due to the age of the building. It might be a suggestion that if and when the carpets are lifted up, the floor bords might get screwed down onto the joists. ( I live in an old house and this worked for me).
The evening meal was as good as it gets.
We liked the room,we liked the view, the staff and the breakfast.
We absolutely hated the fact that some guests had no respect for other people's right for peace and quiet after midnight. It was 1:50am when things settled down. We had room No 5. Also could not get the hotels wifi working.
Breakfasts were excellent, also so were the food in the evening.Very dog friendly which was a bonus to us.
View from the rooms at the rear disappointing! I would recommend to stay in one of the rooms with a balcony as you get a terrific view of the harbour & bay.
staff very friendly and helpful and cheerful, food exultant cannot find fault fantastic views best location I have ever been to
did not have facilities for disable people I-e handrails on stairs toilets and showers
We have stayed at The Harbour on several occasions we have always been made welcome by Rob, Tina and all of the staff, nothing is too much trouble, the rooms are comfortable and clean, views from the balcony across the bay are magnificent. The meals from the Bistro are freshly cooked using local ingredients we had scallops and they were delish, the young waiting on staff and bar staff are a credit to Rob. we will be staying again.
Able to eat on site, fresh fish delicious. Helpful, friendly staff. Interesting walks and things to do from the hotel.
Our room needed refurbishment but OK for the price.
We were looking for somewhere not too lively, even though we were there for a weekend, and half expected some. On the Saturday, the disco did not disturb us at all! Our room was clean with a lovely view over the harbour, and a balcony. The bed was well made up and comfortable. Nice deep bath made for a lovely soak. Hubby loved the Full English breakfast, but it was nice for me to just opt for what I fancied, and the chef obliged. Wonderful! . Great that there was a dog friendly area in the dining room, and that our dog behaved herself under the table (thank goodness!) Really friendly staff. We were looked after particularly well by Louise. All in all, it was a lovely weekend. Thank you.
Very little to dislike for the price. It would have been nice to have a shelf in the bathroom, for personal toiletries. The shower head was fixed from swinging all over, temporarily, I'm sure, with a plastic cup - which worked. Finally, WiFi. We were unable to get it in our room, which was a pity. but no big deal.
Fantastic location. Helpful, friendly staff. Decent meals at a fair price. Good value overall.
The room. It didn't appear to have had any attention for years, although to be fair the bathroom was much better. The floor of the room (and the balcony) moved significantly when walked on - very odd feeling. No ventilation in the room at night without having the patio door to the balcony open. Wonderful view, though!
Lovely restaurant in a lovely setting with harbour views with very good food. I have stopped in better hotels but that comes at a cost, it was the second time we have stopped here and yet again a pleasant stay and will stay again.
Location nice pretty view Breakfast good with good cup of tea. Bed comfy
Place looked grubby needed a good clean. Staff looked grubby and were not very talkative until we saw the dog. Place seems to be more for the locals than travellers.
Rooms with balconies had a lovely view of harbour. Young staff were excellent. Handy for overnight stop for Hollyhead ferry, about 20 minutes away.
Did not find landlord at all friendly. Cleanliness of rooms not brilliant. Food very average, steak on steak night deal very tough. Lucky to get a space in the car park, parking on side of road opposite, not ideal with a car full of luggage
location close to ferry terminal the view the breakfast is lovely comfy beds lovely staff helpful
The location was amazing next to the harbour
The beds werent the comfiest
Food was very good indeeed
Shower was in need of a makeover . The extraction fan needs a volume control !
The meals were excellent and good value, the staff were very friendly and helpful. The view over the bay from our balcony was superb. The general location was very beautiful and interesting.
The bath was too narrow and due to its design I found it very difficult to extract myself. I am not oversize either in height or width. I had to wedge the shower head into position with a plastic cup and the water flow was very weak. We found the speakers from the music intrusive during the day and evening periods.
the view,the bar and meals.
small bathroom, sink in bedroom
Overall a pleasant stay. Excellent location, nice staff. Reasonable room prices and lovely breakfast.
Food was a little expensive and room was very warm throughout the night.
The food and service were really good.
Wifi reception not always good in rooms but downstairs was good.but that is I find the same in most places.
Dog friendly policy, no extra charge for dogs either, great food in restaurant, attentive waiting on staff, very good value for money.
Bathroom a bit small, but positives outweigh the negatives by a mile.
Great location for a break if you are walking the Coastal Path. I only ate 1 night in the restaurant and the food was good with plenty of choices. Breakfast was excellent both mornings.
Unfortunately the toilet was blocked and didn't flush properly & the shower leaked all over the floor. I did report this to reception and they said the rooms were old. The noise from the recreation room below made it difficult to sleep before midnight.
