Ocean Apartments2 Western Harbour, Midway, Leith, EH6 6PN Edinburgh (Show map) Very good, Score from 272 reviews“the view out of the large 5th floor windows....view of the britannia yacht and edinburgh castle was stunning. The bus service right outside the door ran every 10 minutes into the city centre. the private parking underneath the apartments was ideal, especially the lifts up to the rooms”

I liked the Ocean Apartments because they are very spacious and airy. The beds were very comfortable and the ensuite was a good size. The kitchen was spotless and very well equipped plus the presses and cooker were ultra modern. The sitting room was very bright with two large windows overlooking the royal yacht brittania, which looked amazing at night. In fact the view at night was spectacular. Another good thing about these apartments was the bus service with buses into Edinburgh city literally every 10 minutes. An extra bonus was there is a large asda near by. When we checked in at we were met with a lovely young man on reception but found all other staff very unfriendly. You could walk through reception twenty times a day and they would not bid you the time of day or give you a smile.

Despite only staying for one night , we were really impresssed, not only by the location but by the size and cleanliness of our apartment. We ate out, but had we wanted to cook, there were ample utensils, crockery and glasses, etc.(The cork screw came in handy!) It seemed everything had been thought of including washing up liquid and teatowels. The bathrooms were clean and the main shower very powerful. We enjoyed our stay and if we ever visit the area again would definately choose these apartments as the area appeared safe and secure with the added bonus of a pub and supermarket just a stone'sthrow away. We didn't use the bus service into Edinburgh but noticed from our window how regularly, day and night they appeared to run.

Great location. Great view. Near bus stop for easy trip into the city. WiFi. Clean. Near large supermarket open 24 hours. Spacious rooms. Difficult for us to find even with gps in our car. We mentioned in our reservation that we would not arrive until around 9pm. The office closes at 8pm. We did not receive any e-mail instructions as to what to do after hours. We were traveling without cell phone or we could have called earlier. After finding the office an emergency number was posted and a person staying there was kind enough for us to use his cell phone. We were given the lock box number and combo to get our key. In short be careful if you are arriving late. Other than that the apt was great.

Convenience for Leith restaurants and bus services to Edinburgh. Asda nearby was also useful for provisions. Views from apartment good and had good ventilation and heating. Rooms were clean but a bit shabby, Flat decoration with scuffs and some faults was poor. Did not complain but disappointed.

Spacious apartment. Quiet location but shops, attractions, beach etc short walk or drive away. Small tv. Poor quality and not enough crockery and cooking equipment. Cooking and serving a decent meal difficult.

Great views over the regenerated docks by night. Really comfy seating and beds. All we needed for independent stay. In walking distance/bus access to great restaurants, cinema, city etc. Country-dwellers fascinated by birds singing at 1.30am, and fox passing us in the street! Free parking. Lift access. Will definitely use again for a weekend break. Doors in the apartment were noisy, till we remembered to hang onto them, and noisy airlock in main bathroom. View is better by night, but really only minor things.

Close to bus service and brittania in leith.came for hogmany so good for buses and free night bus excellent, apartments big enough for 4 adults and liked two bathrooms. Good supply of tea coffee cloths etc not often provided and toilets rolls more than adequate. If cooking for yourselves advise to take a potato peeler and sharp knife as none in our apartment. As eco friendlywould benefit from making twice. Up to 8 for plates cups to avoid use of dishwasher. Otherwise fine

Excellent accomodation only 15 minutes from the city centre with the bus stopping almost outside the door of the apartments. Rooms were spacious and offered a great view across the city to the castle. Also included underground parking.

View of Edinburgh vista and firth of forth amazing. Cafetiere included! Poorly equipped on the pan and bowl front if you plan to stay for longer than 2 days or to cook. When I phoned in advance to ask how what utensils were provided, I was given inadequate and incorrect info - I ended up with 3 caferieres in total (1 of which was mine) as I was told there would be none. Attention to this detail over the xmas period would have been helpful.

The apartment was extremely comfortable and in a good location for us. Thank you for the tea/coffee, very welcome on arrival. We enjoyed the stay, and would visit again. There was only one negative, and that was the noise due to windy conditions - I think it may have been internal pipes or something but it was loud enough to wake us up. However these were extreme conditions so ordinarily I am sure the room would be quiet. A later checkout time (without additional payment) would enhance this package.

View, kitchen, windows opened, cosy, quiet, parking, cleanliness, free wi-fi. Sound-proof. Washing machine, dishwasher. Wardrobes good. Bathrooms ok. Excellent response to late booking requirements by Troy. wooden floors, easy access. Uncomfortable beds. Freezer didnt work, sofa ripped. One bedroom window would not open (no response to telephone number, but it was over xmas period). Needed coat of paint. Shortage of hot water on occasions.

We all enjoyed the lay out of the apartments and the amount of space we had within the apartments. Close to all that we needed. We had to change apartments after a very sleepless nights sleep in apartment c16 on our first night! The roof sounded like it was about to fall off! Huge shame, as booked apartment for my Mum for the weekend as a birthday surprise and she got no sleep. Once moved we were fine but not offered any compensation or refund for the hassel of no sleep and moving half way through our stay.

A short taxi ride from the city centre. Lovely views. Clean and well equipped. Would have liked more of a welcome from reception staff. On the night we arrived, the young man checking us in seemed bored and merely processed us.

When I arrived the hotel had no trace of my booking and the receptionist gave me the impression that this was my fault. When I was given an apartment key and went in all the furniture was piled in the corner of the room as they had been cleaning the carpet. Although the apartment staff did sort the issue out, I could not understand why they had given me this apartment. I think that although the bus transportation is good the location is not as good as I had hoped.
