The hotel is in a beautiful location. My partner and I walked round the lake after breakfast the first morning and it was wonderful and relaxing and I got some great shots on my camera. The hotel was excellent. Very friendly staff, always helpful. Had dinner both nights. The meal was so good I ordered the same the second night, as did my partner. Breakfast was enjoyable. So relaxed when we were sat having a drink in the evening. Room was clean, lovely and big. Beds comfortable. Stayed in many,many hotels over the years, I rate this one right up there with some of the best. We had a great weekend and will be back. Top class. |

The room was beautiful with views over the lake, staff always courteous and polite Didnt affect us in any way but the walk in shower always left a puddle on the bathroom floor which leaves a mess for the cleaning staff. Also there was somebody elses razor left on the floor behind the bath which should have been noticed by the cleaning staff and was a little offputting. |

The quality of the room and service was excellent. We were really pleasantly surprised by what we experienced. Your staff, in reception, bar and restaurant were always friendly and helpful - even when the power failed. We realise that you cater for a large number of business people. The only downside of the visit was the number of people on their mobile phones in the bar area. Is there a way that you could encourage guests not to use phones in there? |

Very quiet location with lovely grounds with a lake. Bedrooms good size (we stayed in delux room). Staff efficientg and friendly. Dining Room (we only had breakfast as we stayed here to attend a wedding nearby) needs a refurb its looking shabby |

We were at the hotel as part of my daughters wedding and must say that the hotel staff were excellent and the superb room was a luxurious haven after a very long day! I thought that the breakfast buffet was only just up to hotel standard and could have had some "cooked to order" aspects to it |

A really nice spacious room, didn;t have an evening meal but the breakfast was top quality. I would definitely stay here again. Also the extensive grounds were well maintained and very picturesque There seemed to be a slight 'hospital smell' in the hotel, although this could just have been me! Also I'd rather this type of smell to an unclean one! |

The country side location The quality of the bathroom and the attention to detail by the maids. The HA HA restaurant was at best poor a fixed menu the same selection every night of what was obviously microwave cooked factory prepared food. The hotel was preparing for a gourmet venue in extremely large marquee:s which blocked our views of the lake and suroundings completely which was a great disapointment However we would advise potential guests to check what functions are taking place before booking. |

Beautiful setting, large comfortable bedroom, excellent bathroom. Most staff were excellent. The restaurant, food adequate but nothing special and overpriced. Poor service, had to keep asking for table to be cleared. No atmosphere. |

We only stayed the one night, having been out all day and the evening, it was lovely to come back to a welcoming room, and to be able to make a cup of tea ( biscuits had been left) in our room. And the bath was a pure luxery..... |

The hotel as excellent in every respect. The rooms were large, comfortable with beautiful bathrrom; The restauant was exceptional - good balance between quality and price with a small but very well thought out menu. A wonderful experience and ideal for a short break away from it all. The memory foam matress bed was not to our taste, but this is a nit-pick really. |

I was pleasantly surprised by this hotel's quality: it was good value for money. The room was a decent size as was the bathroom. The restaurant provided good food and a reasonable wine list. The hotel is right next door to Hardwick Country Park which is great for walks around the lake. It's also quite close to Hartlepool where we visited the Historic Quay which was a very impressive attraction I would recommend. New TVs can't be far away. This hotel does weddings big time - there was one on our last night and five scheduled for the following day. If you're unlucky enough to be there with rowdy wedding guests, getting some sleep might be an issue. |
