There is nothting not to like
This was a first class visit from start to finish. We were treat like VIP's my special requests were met. The room and service were excellent. We had a wonderful time and were only sorry we couldn't have stayed longer. Looking forward to the next visit. Absolutely perfect.
There was nothing to dislike.
Only problem we had was the noise, with the corridors been tiled you could here people clip clopping
Well appointed room Lovely bathroom Huge comfy bed
The room was wonderful, we were situated at the front of the hotel with amazing views overlooking Hardwick Park, as well as having a gorgeous bathroom with two sinks, a large walk-in shower and a separate toilet with a glass courtesy door. The reception staff were very helpful both times I called with enquiries before staying, which was much appreciated! The price for one night in a double room (without breakfast- £10 pp) was £65 on a Sunday night, the room was deluxe although I suspect it may have been a complimentary upgrade as I didn't book one! My partner and I were both very impressed and happy with the stay, I would happily have paid at least another £25. There are multiple lovely restaurants nearby, including The Ministers (Indian) and The County (upmarket bistro/restaurant) but the steakhouse inside the hotel is also good. Overall, I'd definitely recommend this hotel to anybody looking for a scenic getaway!
Upon arriving to breakfast around half an hour before serving stopped, my partner and I were instructed to sit at a table for two by a slightly frosty older woman. While there were lots of tables for four and six left, the only table for two was right at the back of the restaurant, meaning that it took a good ten minutes to try and catch the eye of any staff to clear our empty plates, which quickly cluttered the tiny table. Had they been busy, this would have been understandable, but we were the last to arrive to breakfast and the room was hardly bustling. This left us with a bad taste in our mouths (pun intended!) getting virtually ignored by staff and sitting surrounded by larger, empty tables. Other than this, the stay would have been perfect but I feel as though the attitude of some of the breakfast staff unfortunately spoiled the last hour of our break.
Service Second to none
The room was perfect, bed was extremely comfortable , food was delicious .. It was perfect for my wife and I to celebrate our Wedding Anniversary
Embarrassing to admit but we couldn't work out how to use the bath waste !! definitely need some instructions in there !! The gentleman who returned to his room at 3 am was rather loud !!!!
The setting is fantastic overlooking the lake and parkland.
Location good large bedroom Good large bathroom with bath and shower Good wi-fi connection Large car park Good breakfast and good lounge bar and restaurant food selection Extensive adjacent walking area and lake
Everything. It's all you could ask for in a hotel. Beautiful location, stunning building, great rooms, friendly staff and superb food. Looking forward to going back very soon. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Beautiful rooms Location Comfy bed
Arrived early hours in the morning, greeted warmly by the night staff, who were very helpful. Room was immaculate and beautifully furnished. Cooked breakfast was excellent, quick service too. Will definitely be back to walk the grounds, surrounding the hotel, absolutely stunning!!!
30th wedding anniversary. All i asked for pre arrival we got. Stay was great.
Noisy footfall in tiled corridor at 7..30 am & marquee music in grounds in the afternoon
I like the fact the staff were very welcoming. The first step into reception, they made you welcome.
Well were do I start ................... The noise was applauding, during the night. We stayed Friday - Sunday and the noise from other guests was a disgrace. I complained on the Saturday morning and I was told that there was only one night porter on !! You need to employ security people to kick these people out. Its a shame that I had to pen to paper.
We stayed in a premier suit and it was lovely modern and beautiful so much room.
We stayed over because we attended a wedding here the hotel was lovely but the toilets needed to b cleaned threwout the event.
We regularly stay in many different hotels around the UK, in this price range & above....We've stayed at Hardwick Hall five times in the last seven years, including Xmas 2011. Most staff are local folk who've been there for years - they're all great & can't do enough to help.... Rooms & beds are some of the largest & comfiest experienced anywhere. Breakfasts are cooked to order & along with the hotel as a whole maintain a consistent good standard. The setting alone deserves six stars - with the hotel looking out onto a lake..
Beware - this otherwise wonderful hotel is also an "event" & conference venue. Our five night stay was severely marred for the last two days & nights whilst they were setting-up for a pop concert (expecting a crowd of around 20,000), complete with a funfair being assembled in the grounds immediately below our bedroom window. No prior communication from the hotel to warn us of this & on arrival the only hint of this was a poster referring to it as a "garden party".....We shall return but will be careful to enquire in future if there are any events taking place.
went to our friends wedding at the above it went very well all staff were friendly.
kept awake by wedding party all night
