Nothing to not like
Good location for walking
Hargate Hall is a lovely old mansion house that is full of character, set in please gardens. The apartments are spacious and very comfortable. It is also set in beautiful scenery nearby, so great for walking the dog. The owners are delightful people, and very welcoming.
Some would complain that there was no wifi in the rooms, because of the thick walls. But personally it was a relief on holiday to be off the matrix. And, there was perfectly good wifi in the common areas, which are quiet and have a nice table and sofas.
This was a lovely flat in a beautiful house, and it was furnished to a good standard.
The welcome was minimal, there was very little local information available in the flat. There is more information on the website, but because both the mobile signal and the WiFi connection are not good, it was difficult to find out about local amenties.
Owner was very friendly and apartments were huge. Great location to head off for a hike.
Friendly and efficient family running the place. Very well appointed apartment in a cleverly converted hall. The drive up from the main road is a delight. Wifi wasn't fully available as advertised (that's Booking.com's fault) but Anthony willingly installed a booster in our apartment.
Well equipped, plenty of room for a family.
lovely service from the couple who own the hall.. i was expecting them to be a little stuck up, but they were ver down to earth and lovely people who couldnt have done more to make our stay more comfortable
nothing it was all good
Great Location, prefect base for walks and pubs.
The whole place. Spacious yet cosy. Attention to detail, particularly supplies in the kitchen. That towels were provided. Breakfast!
Odd bits of temporary furniture. Clearly whole place is work in progress. Look forward to its development. A great venue for a weekend or holiday with a crowd of friends or family
Very big and spacious, liked the old features and the setting the hall is in.
no cold water pressure,so shower did not work well. And the hot water was to hot
Photos don't do it justice! Stayed in Eyam apartment which was lovely. Very relaxed atmosphere and lovely owners. Will be back!!
Excellent, relaxed place. Chimney makes for a nice atmosphere.
Wifi in the apartment was weak even though we were right next to the lobby.
exactly what it says on the tin,it is a work in progress but full of history and great value for money, was a trip down memory lane feeding an electric meter with pound coins again...
I suppose a bucket for the ash would not have gone a miss, but again if I was that bothered I would have contacted the propritor
It was belter
This was a very large apartment fully equipped and in a quiet and peaceful setting. It was ideal to get quick access to good walks. Buxton close by for shopping by car 12 minutes away. The ability to have an open coal fire was a real bonus and took the pressure off of the £1 coins for the electric metre. The owners were friendly and their young son was a perfect gentlemen.
No real complaints. Only you do a good supply of £1 coins needed to feed electric metre in cold weather. They are available on site from the owners. Best be prepared.
The apartment was lovely, comfortable and homely. It is a short drive from Buxton and a great location from which to go walking, either directly from there, or a short drive t numerous other routes.
the staff were very friendly, the room was great, to keep the electricity cost down we kept the open fire going, coal was supplied!! Overall it was agreat location for visiting the caves in the local area and would fully recommend this to other visitors
Too cold in winter, couldn't use the rest of the house
Loved the location and ample parking space. The room in which we stayed was very clean, airy and bright. All the beds were comfortable and linen clean and of a high quality. All kitchen utensils and facilities were provided even down to dishwasher tablets. Also coal was provided which was an unexpected treat. We would definitely stay again without a shadow of a doubt.
The only negative coment I have is that the decor in the apartment is slightly dated but nothing new curtains and a more contemporary wallpaper/coverings cant fix.
Lovely setting, great house. Stayed in the balmoral room, very large with everything you could need.
The apartments were very spacious and comfortable
Spacious apartment with everything you need in the kitchen, lovely open fire.
The apartments are very dated and look tired.
Our stay was fabulous, the place was perfect and the owner that showed us around was very helpful and pleasant. Beautiful place to stay and definitely will be recommending
Clean, spacious , good location, lovely kitchen with everything you need
The electric meter should be mentioned in the advert , one of the bedroom radiators stopped working in the middle of the night, we had to all sleep in one room, toilet was freezing cold at night , nice big TV but without remote contrail
