Room was stunning, as was the rest of the hotel! Very quirky and interesting. Brilliant live jazz music and the staff were excellent - could not have asked for better service. Especially from our waiter in the evening. Amazing stay all round!
Bed a bit too soft
Room was very nice, breakfast was great, staff very accommodating.
Staff extremely friendly, attentive and professional. Hotel decor v unique, cosy yet stylish. Great location.
The saniflo system in the toilet was loud and ineffective. This didn't add to the romantic atmosphere.
Just your own space
hotel easy to find, nothing too much trouble, very welcoming.
Wonderful ambience, fantastic food and great live music.
Location and excellent food with a jazz group to entertain.
Studio apartment excellent. Warm, comfortable, excellent food, great entertainment.
Steep stairs (but part of the quirky building) and slow wifi. Both minor things though.
Friendly helpful staff, restaurant very good room very comfy
Rooms very comfortable, restaurant good service and quality.
first night in "garden room" located under the kitchens..Very noisy until near midnight and then again from 6.30am. Staff arranged for change of room for the rest of our stay, also complimentary dinner so they saved the day!
Room was ok
Terrible food in the restaurant. Even staff said "I don't blame you" when we said we were eating out next evening. Worst ever!!
Nice room 5. Enjoyed the jazz. Excellent staff
Could be more choice for breakfast, ie eggs benedict, fish ie kippers and smoked haddock.
The road was a main thoroughfare that had about 8 decent places to eat, including the excellent fayre at the Brasserie.
The location was great and so was the breakfast and the staff
The free wifi was very slow
food was very good, Dinner was nicely served, prices were reasonable and food well made. A pleasant experience enhanced by an excellent Jazz / Blue player with acoustic guitar. well done. Breakfast was one of the best we have had for this sort of hotel. The best experience of the stay
The room was a slight let down. No great problems but just a general sort of tiredness about the place. We believe the owners may be hoping to sell it as `atmosphere` but really, decorating a ceiling with squares of unpainted lining paper which is peeling off at the corners is a bit more than atmosphere. Similarly, light fittings hanging out of the ceiling means they are not fitted correctly and is not `charming`. Our stay was pleasant and in general it was OK but the accommodation side of things needs a spruce up or a reduction in price. We may well return there to eat but NOT to stay
Excellent Hotel, very friendly staff, really nice food and live jazz
Went out for a meal on 2nd night, big mistake, we should have dined in the Hotel
Friday nights dinner with the jazz was great
No shower in the room. Not a fan of. Saniflo systems
Bar and restaurant area very quirky really nice, hotel is made up of many old and interesting things. The two gentlemen greeting and serving at breakfast were great, very chatty and welcoming.
Bed very very soft, room floors very creaky in and from above
Very central location, attentive staff, lots of interesting features in the hotel
The noise from the traffic took a bit of getting used to but wouldn't put us off going back
Restaurant has nice atmosphere. Food is good quality and value for money. Private parking. Great breakfast
Loved the quirky style of the hotel, the room we stayed in was lovely and the food was excellent plus the live jazz. We will definitely stay here again...
Bedroom Dinner breakfeast Staff attitude
The studio room was awesome, great facilities, even a small balcony to smoke on! The staff were friendly and co-operative. There was a bottle of white wine in the fridge and a red on the counter.... I'm fairly sure they were complimentary!
The stairs to the top floor.... but even they weren't sooooo bad.
The Location of the Hotel was perfect, rooms were outstanding, food fantastic, so good we ate there both nights we especially enjoyed the live jazz music while we ate on the Friday
Lack of music in the restaurant on the Saturday evening
