The heating in the bathroom was not working so a little bit cold when in the bathroom
staff, very clean and food.
tired bathroom needs updating.
quiet, and suitable for my dogs, ;lots of walks suitable
£5 per dog seems a bit high, vegetarian breakfast is the normal breakfast but no meat, the portions are the same size, a lot of white plate visible
The location is very off; no close public transport. Taxi's aren't close by, closest bus top is about 15-20 minutes walk and worse if you use the train station at Lenham. The worst experience was the day I arrived which was at night. Since it was my first time in that part of the country, I did not know that I was going to be in the middle nowhere at night with no taxi service close by. Even when I managed to call the hotel with low cell battery, the Manager did not accept to call the Village taxi man, but said he could only give the number for the taxi and it was my business to call him. Neither could he send the number by text to my mobile as he was only willing to use his landline. Anyway taxi man came after waiting the dark and cold by Rayners Hill bus stop. The experience was made worse when I had to leave the next day even though I paid for 4 nights thus losing 3 nights stay. Not even my breakfast charges of £6.00/meal for the next 3 mornings was returned. I have never felt worse in my online transactions!!! If you do not live local, only book this place if you seek anything but easy living.
Springs in mattress starting to come through in room 2. It needs renewing
good food nice stay and I would go back
Spacious room, quiet and peaceful, comfy bed.
Toilet did not flush, curtain pole taped up, shower head holder taped up and did not hold, taps leaked, bathroom not great altogether.
the room was good and worm . the manager was very good at his job very help full and bar staff were nice and help full . a lovely location away from the roads and the food was nice hot and a very good b/f was good
there were two things. but I did not see the manager about it. so next time I will go back and stay again and tell them about . but other then that it was a very good stay and for some one who like to work away from the noise and get a good night sleep then this hotel is a good place to say .
Peaceful countryside, friendly locals, excellent home-cooked food, good value, prompt breakfasts
Very good value for money
What a fantastic little hotel. Much better than any place we've stayed in. Great atmosphere, very friendly staff and great room. With a quiet, cosy bar to top it off. Great location, and so quiet. Will deffo stay again.
Breakfast promptly served, good coffee and English breakfast, pleasant staff. Spacious warm room, with adjustable radiators. Offer of evening meal available if required.
Shower a little difficult to adjust but plenty of hot water and toiletries.
The building was attractive externally. There was parking.
Extremely rude staff. Very basic food. Roast lamb was of the packet slices variety.mushrooms fried in rancid butter, dollop of baked beans. Truly the worst hotel we've ever stayed in. Avoid!!! The chap running the place shouted at me to wait until he'd served some people at the bar. I was speechless, he then shouted in the kitchen, "That woman's arrived." Depressing, dated room decor, dining room plastic chairs. Thin paper napkins...
Food was excellent, evening & breakfast, nice quiet pub in a quiet location. Really great staff.
Limited facilities, pub/bar doesn't open until 6pm meaning you are essentially 'stuck' in your room unless you are willing to get back in the car and travel. Would be better in summer as the grounds would be accessible. Rooms aren't great at soundproofing.
Evening meal - good Breakfast - amazing! Rooms - good Quiet!
Tired - needs updating
lovely out of the way place, although only a mile or so from the main road. Nice to be out in the country side. Very good value for money. Lovely tasty and hearty breakfast. And cosy cottagey interiors. Friendly helpful staff.
A lick of paint on the large window sill in the dining room would be good as there were black marks running along it and it spoilt an otherwise nice room.
mold in the room meals breakfast not really good bad price-performance-ratio
The room was lovely, very spacious and great facilities The staff were really helpful and friendly The food was excellent
Travelling in the dark, fog and rain it was a bit difficult to find but worth it when I got there.
Staff Breakfast Comfort Cleanliness This place has no downside! We were all very impressed!
It was clean, warm, nice bar and staff
No phone signal (sad i know)
The room was clean and comfortable and set out in the country for a peaceful stay.
Large car park.
Restaurant was closed the night we stayed, without any advance notification. Payment was taken from credit card the day before we arrived without authorisation.
standard of rooms very shabby, damp and musty in rooms 9/10/16. could do with a good clean and overhaul. Bed linen although clean bed was damp and non existent pillows.
good bed with warm covers windows that opened on fresh air food was good pleasant hotelier adequate parking country location
nowhere to sit - dining chair in room décor very tired no signal, but that's not their fault
