Lovely hotel very friendly had a room with fabulous sea view and balcony would recommend. They served a great breakfast.
Shower pressure poor, water changing hot to cold regularly.
Good price, and the restaurant had good food at a good price. It was also located close to town to walk in to the stores, and other locations.
real value for money , staff great , location spot on .
bookings .com said single rooms could have double bed , but no single rooms had any . still single bed ok.
This hotel is mid size but not so large to be inpersonal in a great location, 5 mins from the beautiful, chocolate-box town and perched on the top of the cliff overlooking the bay, a lift to the beach is just across the road. we stayed in a twin room which was well decorated and if you pressed your face against the window, it had a sea view! the room and bedding were very clean. Food was great and reasosably priced.
Some areas of the hotel were a little dated but not shabby, the TV in our room was situated on the wardrobe which is quite rediculous and very irritating, just a little thought in positioning furniture and TV's would enhanse the hotel with not a lot of cost. Walls were thin so as long as you have considerate neighbours you will fine.
Superb location, right in front of the seaside. Quiet in November (end of low season), appreciated the quality of sleep. Recently refurbished rooms, very clean and spacious enough. Modern decor, cabin shower with the essentials.Excellent value for money breakfast (continental and full English). Would definitely recommend it.15 mins walking from old town centre.
Staff didn't seem to be around but I stayed at the very end of low season, so of course hotel wasn't running at full staff capacity. Poor wifi signal in the rooms, dropped down after a while.
Good service, nice breakfast, nice seafront view from hotel, excellent!!!! :-)
B'fast,close to town,staff very helpful
Bedroom quite noisy where it was situated
A warm welcome ,friendly guests, the staff there all went the extra mile.Very clean place that worked hard to keep it nice.
I wish we had a room that overlooked the sea but are booking was a standard room so next time we will request one, but the price was good.
location, food, cleanliness
shower/toilet too small, not enough room
Good value, excellent breakfast
Good value for money, good breakfast with plenty of choice.
A bar, or lounge to relax in before turning in.
The hotel was clean and well maintained. The bed was comfortable and the size of the room was adequate. The breakfasts were excellent,we where there for 14 days so varied them.We also had a few evening meals which were also very good. The bar was very good and all the staff where very helpful and friendly.
The bathroom was a little small and the room could have done with a larger television.
We had a lovely stay at this hotel. The staff were warm and friendly and the hotel had a lovely homely atmosphere. It it excellent value and the breakfast is fabulous. The staff who served the breakfast were so nice. I would definitely stay again.
Marvellous view from the hotel. Quiet and clean location. Lovely staff. Would definitely visit again
Staff/management very welcoming and helpfull. Very good breakfasts and fast service. Rooms small but comfortable. Good bar area with sea view, and prices OK. Stocks draught "Doombar" Cornish ale, (try it if you've not had it before)! Chef does very good evening meals, fresh veg and well presented, but you must order in the morning. Recommended.
TV very small and you need good eyesight to watch it, not a problem in summer or good weather but not so good in autumn.
quite area, staff very welcoming and helpful, nice rooms
we booked 3 rooms, only 1 room got sea view
Limited menu for evening meal on our arrival, being served in the bar. We chose homemade Chicken & bacon pie which was under cooked, the pastry was grey in colour and doughy, the chips were frozen the instant gravy beef flavoured . This put us off having any further evening meals in the dining room which had to be ordered during breakfast each morning for that evening. The door to our room was ill fitting so banged all night long on the first night. I wedged it for the rest of our stay with a serviette! Both the shower room window and bedroom window had broken catches, on the last night of our stay the weather took a turn for the worst so I tried to close the windows only to find that they rattled all night due to the wind. so no sleep. I cannot recommend this hotel and will not be staying there again!
good value for money clean, comfortable, friendly and welcoming. well situated.
I had no complaints about anything, nothing was too much trouble for the staff , breakfast choice was first class, the place was spotless !!
only minor gripe was the extractor in our bathroom didn't work !
Service was very good by all members of staff.
Very nicely located at the top of the cliffs. There is a footpath and an elevator down to the beach. Free parking and WiFi quality is excellent. Friendly staff, even left their coffee machine on in the evening for us. Beds were good, not too soft not too firm. Breakfast was okay.
Room was rather small with a very small television. Shower took a while to get warm in the evenings. Restaurant closes early, we arrived too late on the first day.
The view was spectacular from the terrace and one of our rooms which we paid extra for. Changed rooms because the previous one had a window u cdnt see from which made us feel chlostrophobic so make sure you dont end up in that room Didnt have a lift so it was a bit of a struggle for me with my limited mobility. Breakfast n the staff were excellent.
The window with no view. The attitude of the bar staff who initially handed us the keys as other staff had already left. Upstairs the room was excellent but the tiolet shower was very small. The dining room in the basement was quite shabby.
Loved the Staff The Breakfast, very generous portions Easy parking Location next to the beach Friendly Relaxing atmosphere
The hot and cold water was affected when other visitors used the shower. So be careful. The wifi was non existent in our room, but it worked everywhere else in the hotel.
