Dating back to 1860, The Dog in Over Peover is in the heart of the quaint village. This typical village inn offers a restaurant and a pub serving real local and national ales.

Very friendly staff Good qaulity shower Comfortable bed Excellent Breakfast
"Didnt like" is to strong, Areas for improvement The decor of the bedroom looked tired, wallpaper coming away from the wall.
helpfulness of staff Food at dinner was all right for the price.
No proper coffee at breakfast, but when I complained the waiter brought some without my having asked for it. No reasonably decent hotel should serve instant coffee
staff amazi g friendly . they did everything possible to make us feel special. have stayed in many hotels. breakfast fantastic but we need real coffee not instant please.. room clean. tv and wifi excellent. bathroom fine.
carpets in bar and lounge filthy cleaners not doing their jobs. carpets need to go to the skip they are worn and past it.
Comfortable well kitted rooms. Great breakfast. Perfect for a business stop-over.
Rooms were dirty and the beds were cheap and uncomfortable
Breakfast was OK
Cleaning staff left 11.30 so room not cleaned. We returned after dark and had to feel our way along walls to get to our room. A tired old Inn!
Lovely old building..
Creaking floorboards in the bedrooms. Noisy fans in bathrooms . Worn out beds. Pillows uncomfortable . Paint peeling off the radiator in room. . Poor quality food in restaurant . Breakfast disturbed by cleaner hoovering round us !
Meal in Restaurant was excellent.Free Wifi a real bonus.Pleasant staff
Reception is part of bar service - a no no.General decor really needs addressing.
comfortable, good food and helpful staff.
Wi-Fi Excellent Good Food Comfortable Bed
Woken early by deliveries
Good location and good value for money.
The fact there was no night staff, Couple in nearby room were extremely disruptive, bad language and doors continually banging until about 4 a.m. obviously a serious 'domestic' !
The way the almost sole barman/waiter/kitchen porter, tried his utmost to appease the situation when it became apparent that we had been forgotten about while our evening meals got burnt under the hot-lamps that were meant to keep them warm awaiting collection and delivery to our table; we had been very patient and had waited for over an hour and a half for the meals to arrive, others around us in the restaurant also appeared far from happy. The waiter agreed the meal wasn't edible and went to cook another himself.
The way the management deemed that it was ok to leave a single person dealing with all of the barwork, the restaurant greetings, the taking of food orders, the collection and serving up of the meals; we left the restaurant at around 11:30pm; having witnessed this unfair situation; and were very suprised to see the same individual on duty again at about 08:30am the following day.
The room was very comfortable & clean. The pub restaurant was very good. It is an ideal place to stay in this area.
The staff were lovely and very friendly and hard working. The food was excellent and the choice of beers very good too. Breakfast was also nice and there was loads of parking.
The room I had #1 had the creakiest floor ever, the bed was too hard and the plumbing made a racket all night. Also it was quite stuffy. The TV was too small for the distance from the bed.
The food and drink The room the location friendliness of staff.
You have to be patient in the restaurant in the evening. The food is fine but service can be rather slow and the waiter/waitress go to ground periodically. Some other guests were V noisy during the night, but you cannot choose your neighbours can you?
Clean and reasonably comfortable. Good breakfast.
Noisy cistern recycling and air in the water pipes making a huge noise all night completely spoiled our nights there. Room No. 2.
Plenty of Parking Good WiFi Bathroom was good but laminate floor smelt of urine by the toilet. Facilities were good but a little dated ie carpets and decor Room was clean and all of the facilities we needed were there. Plenty of hot drinks options which is very good for me.
Although the staff were friendly I thought it was expensive, half of larger, 2 packs of crisps and a bag of nuts was £4.45. Had an evening meal but all of the veg was raw and uncooked - dont mind steamed but this was rock hard. My wife said it was because we left it late. It was 9pm when they served until 930pm but "Chef" must of been keen to get home. They did not charge for 1 meal but on check out I refused to pay for the other and although I said I could not eat breakfast there was no chance of any refund for that so I had to pay extra for breakfast locally. The bed was small (but we are used to Kingsized) and very uncomfortable. I actually spend 3 hours awake after being woken up at 130am by noise from other rooms as the walls were paper thin. Pipework was noisy also and the place was in need of decor work and looked very tied and smelled a little damp. No heating available as rads not on at all. Value was fair but could not stay again due to food and lack of comfort.
Breakfast was very good nice staff
Bed was to soft you rolled into the middle
nice steak pie, sweets excellent, fish was good . breakfast good, first class staff very attentive ,
poor car parking bays are too tight . evening meal carrots and brocalli undercooked ,
Food was excellent
Service was bellow par
It was good enough for the money. Fair value, comfortable enough and water provided
Sloppy breakfast cook who served up a burst poached egg- really? Like- well sod that for tin soldiers trying again. And the staff who thought it was irrelevant and just served it anyway
Hot water tap in sink in bathroom would not run properly and sink did not drain well. Bed a bit soft. Room cold and unable to put heating on.
The staff; polite and friendly. The food.
A little bit 'scruffy'; paintwork could have done with touching up, floors were wooden but not been varnished for some time. Breakfast was adequate but instant coffee? I think thats the first time I have not had fresh coffee for breakfast in a B&B...
Good location, excellent food and friendly staff.
The facilities of the hotel were marvellous value for money and the staff were the most welcoming, friendly people I have ever come across in all the hotels I have ever stayed in worldwide.
There was nothing I could find fault with.
