Long story....Generally overpriced. Dinner was excellent, but the diners were generally stiff old colonial coffin dodgers, who seemed to have lost their inhibitions about staring!
The kept recounting their stories of when they owned India, and when they owned Kenya etc etc
Food was however excellent, worthy of a michelin star.
Breakfast, felt like we were in Warsaw or Krakow, actually Krakow. The polish staff must have thougt that they were still in Poland under the communists.. We had to ask several times for toast, an when this was brought, there were no consrevers or butter. Upon asking for the butter, the waitress ignored the first request and f..ked off. Felt as if we were on our way to the concentration camps.
We went to get our baggage form our rooms which were both suites, and expensive to boot. Housekeeping was loitering outside with a mop and brush. Gave the distinct impression that she wanted s out of the rooms. Not polite or friendly. This was one hour prior to check out time.
If you want a taste of gentrified english living, then please do NOT visit here. Curl up on the sofa and watch an episode of downton abbey with a hot chocolate.
