Score from 86 reviews Very good
The breakfast was very good
The shower water was only Luke Warm
The view of the Tythe Barn
The fact that our b'fast table was crowded & awkward to get to seats & whole wedding party could not sit together
This is a very nice quiet hotel in well kept grounds , a good resturant and bar and very helpfull staff
Kettle in the room needs replacing because it is corroded
Personnel was very friendly and helpful. Very nice location and surrounding. Dinner is very good.
Pictures of rooms and bath rooms on the web site have no resemblance with the room we stayed in - probably also with the rooms in the building we stayed in (there is another house build in 2009 which is probably much nicer). Bed was uncomfortable with very old mattress. Room was a little bit damp (it was helpful that the heater was turned on after 6pm but did not change the situation totally - e.g. towels in the bathroom did not dry, etc.).
My husband and I thought the grounds particularly beautiful with interesting sites including the tithe barn.

Carrying my breakfast up the stairs on our first morning
We had a lovely stay and would highly recommend! The staff were friendly and kind and the surroundings were beautiful, and the view from the large room was great with the relaxing sound of the river bank...
Great location, superb food and friendly staff
The location is lovely and very peaceful easy to relax around the mill pond with afternoon tea. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the food is very good.
It was set in a lovely location and surrounding area, and a few of the staff were very helpful and pleasant.
We had a small room in the back, it was in need of some tlc, it was dreary & smelt of damp. Breakfast was a hotplate with food running in oil - that was if they hadn't run out! We felt superfluous to the wedding party and got really fed up with being presumed we were there for it. The quality of this place does not warrant the price! There are much nicer places to stay - they need to up their game!
Location and lay out. Nice evening meal, waiting staff really helpful. Lovely surroundings.
One minor concern, the breakfast area was full, so had upstairs seating, with a downstairs buffet style breakfast. This did not really cause a concern, but may be an issue for others. Shame the pie bar was not open at the time of my visit.
nice and peaceful, friendly staff. Beautiful new bathroom
decor a little dated. lacked attention to detail, eg bathroom very dusty round skirting and in corners
Friendly staff, location
Light outside of room stayed on until early our of morning Evening meals need a couple of specials each night . Change menus daily
Buffet breakfast and dirty mattress.
Lovely setting. Loved staying in the 'house'. Very peaceful even though there was a wedding taking place in the barn. Staff very friendly & helpful. Discovered that I had been there for a birthday meal many years before.
Room a little tired, especially the bathroom. The panel at the end of the bath, fell off when we first walked into the bathroom! Grout needed replacing on the floor tiles. In general it needed a freshen up.
Tithe barn and the setting was gorgeous. Staff were very attentive, although could have done with additional bar staff.
Bedroom was unclean - the walls were covered in spiders and cobwebs, wood louses on the floor. A feather duster wouldn't go amiss. Bedside table was a piece of mdf (which wasn't attached to the base and subsequently fell off when lent on) with a sheet over the top. Bathroom layout is impractical. Bedroom was positioned right next to the laundry room with staff who didn't care for guests staying in close proximity. "Morning, morning, morning" woke me up in the early hours - was not in the slightest bit impressed.
All the old classic cars and the german lager
The service was excellent, very friendly, helpful staff. As dog owners we were delighted to be able to bring him with us and there was plenty of space to exercise him.
Breakfast was excellent however the dinner menu could have been better.
Surroundings were amazing, staff very friendly & could not be more helpful. Particularly Karen, Tom & Judith, Food was delicious & excellent value for money. Fabulous place for a relaxing stay. Would definitely stay there again.
We should have stayed in the carriage but it was leaking which was a shame. Moved to Treetops, lovely room but window could not be closed & curtains not hung properly. These are the things that could be improved but they did not spoil our weekend.
The location & grounds were beautiful on a summers evening. Our room was clean & comfy. I would happily return.
Checking in the Hotel wasn't quick & simple as it appeared to be part of the bar. I also found it quite difficult to push my elderly disabled father in a wheelchair around the grounds. Whilst the staff were helpful in making suggestions it was hard work pushing on gravel.
The staff are excellent and very helpful, the food in the restaurant was really first class and the setting by the lake and gardens is lovely.
We booked fairly late and although our room was ok,ie Lakeside view, if we return i think i would prefer a different room that was not up 3 flights of stairs, otherwise the room was clean and comfortable.
Everything, Breakfast was super. Staff so helpful let us stay in a room an extra hour after check out, before we left for family function. No charge. Thank you Haselbury Mill.
Location Staff Restaurant - quality of food and service both excellent
Room was a bit basic, but adequate, and acceptable for that type of establishment
Everything! Our room was lovely and spacious with a 4 poster bed and a massive bathroom with tub and a separate walk-in shower (big enough for two.) We wandered through the beautiful grounds in the evening before an excellent dinner. A great way to spend our anniversary.
It is a shame that breakfast is served in an upstairs room, as I am disabled and unable to climb stairs. Staff were so helpful and kind, however, and brought breakfast down to me in the dining room, so it was not a problem in the end.
