Location and charm of the grounds
Room was cold. Heating was off when we arrived and went off again later at night.
Picturesque and tranquil location. Friendly and hospitable staff. Very good breakfast. Clean and comfortable room.
Staff and owners were extremely friendly kind and efficient. Nothing was too much trouble. Food particularly the Xmas Lunch was excellent. Room was very warm and comfortable. Grounds are gorgeous.
Leaving after Boxing day

Great location Lovely staff
We found the room cold on arrival and when we returned later that evening
We were given the bridal suite which was very luxurious with a great bathroom.
Room was intially quite cold, but did warm up eventually.
We had a comfortable coach house room. The food was excellent, served in the dining room overlooking the park. A really good place for a break.
The breakfast was very good
The shower water was only Luke Warm
The view of the Tythe Barn
The fact that our b'fast table was crowded & awkward to get to seats & whole wedding party could not sit together
This is a very nice quiet hotel in well kept grounds , a good resturant and bar and very helpfull staff
Kettle in the room needs replacing because it is corroded
Personnel was very friendly and helpful. Very nice location and surrounding. Dinner is very good.
Pictures of rooms and bath rooms on the web site have no resemblance with the room we stayed in - probably also with the rooms in the building we stayed in (there is another house build in 2009 which is probably much nicer). Bed was uncomfortable with very old mattress. Room was a little bit damp (it was helpful that the heater was turned on after 6pm but did not change the situation totally - e.g. towels in the bathroom did not dry, etc.).
My husband and I thought the grounds particularly beautiful with interesting sites including the tithe barn.

Carrying my breakfast up the stairs on our first morning
We had a lovely stay and would highly recommend! The staff were friendly and kind and the surroundings were beautiful, and the view from the large room was great with the relaxing sound of the river bank...
Great location, superb food and friendly staff
The location is lovely and very peaceful easy to relax around the mill pond with afternoon tea. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the food is very good.
It was set in a lovely location and surrounding area, and a few of the staff were very helpful and pleasant.
We had a small room in the back, it was in need of some tlc, it was dreary & smelt of damp. Breakfast was a hotplate with food running in oil - that was if they hadn't run out! We felt superfluous to the wedding party and got really fed up with being presumed we were there for it. The quality of this place does not warrant the price! There are much nicer places to stay - they need to up their game!
Location and lay out. Nice evening meal, waiting staff really helpful. Lovely surroundings.
One minor concern, the breakfast area was full, so had upstairs seating, with a downstairs buffet style breakfast. This did not really cause a concern, but may be an issue for others. Shame the pie bar was not open at the time of my visit.
nice and peaceful, friendly staff. Beautiful new bathroom
decor a little dated. lacked attention to detail, eg bathroom very dusty round skirting and in corners
Friendly staff, location
Light outside of room stayed on until early our of morning Evening meals need a couple of specials each night . Change menus daily
Buffet breakfast and dirty mattress.
Lovely setting. Loved staying in the 'house'. Very peaceful even though there was a wedding taking place in the barn. Staff very friendly & helpful. Discovered that I had been there for a birthday meal many years before.
Room a little tired, especially the bathroom. The panel at the end of the bath, fell off when we first walked into the bathroom! Grout needed replacing on the floor tiles. In general it needed a freshen up.
Tithe barn and the setting was gorgeous. Staff were very attentive, although could have done with additional bar staff.
Bedroom was unclean - the walls were covered in spiders and cobwebs, wood louses on the floor. A feather duster wouldn't go amiss. Bedside table was a piece of mdf (which wasn't attached to the base and subsequently fell off when lent on) with a sheet over the top. Bathroom layout is impractical. Bedroom was positioned right next to the laundry room with staff who didn't care for guests staying in close proximity. "Morning, morning, morning" woke me up in the early hours - was not in the slightest bit impressed.
