Very friendly staff Relaxed atmosphere Not pretentious at all Great food
Nice location. Room good.
Poor wifi. Dodgy sausages for breakfast that nobody liked. Slow breakfast service
the room service.
Good food, friendly staff and ample parking.
Staff very polite and helpful
Leaking ceiling in reception area
The food was good
So much noise from drunk guests, slamming of doors, Music from the discos playing late at night. You should be warned if the know a function is on. Whole hotel looks a little tired, rooms could do with some of the smaller details being better maintained.
shame most staff are not british
The hotel/manor is set in a fantastic location with a real feel of exclusiveness , the staff are friendly and polite and the service is exceptional, it's not cheap but also not top end expensive but a real treat to behold.
Didn't stay long enough !!!!
Comfort of rooms, fine food and helpful staff, plenty of easy parking
Staying for three nights, why is there hardly any change in the dinner menu?
My daughter and now son in law chose hatherley manor as the venue for their wedding. The staff were wonderful, we had the secret garden for the ceremony and even the sun shone down. Every aspect of the wedding was wonderful, the food was excellant, the rooms were lovely. Thank you hatherley manor staff for making sure everything went perfectly.
No negative points at all.
The staff were very friendly and efficient Facilities good value for money Restaurant food excellent
Breakfast abit pricey but excellent
The staff were very friendly and the food was good.
The room was rather hot and the general decor was a bit bland and unattractive - a pity since the original house is full of character. The decaf coffee tasted as though it was instant - unnecessary, since it is so easy to get decaf coffee beans.
Room was very clean and included everything you needed for a night away and the grounds were beautiful.
Attended the hotel for a wedding, there was not enough staff allocated to the bar area so waiting to be served became a problem. There is no air conditioning in the rooms which made a hot summers night very uncomfortable. The cooked breakfast was disgusting which meant we paid a very high rate for some fresh fruit.
The wedding party were noisy and fowl mouthed. Felt the breakfast was expensive.
The hotel is in a lovely quiet location that is not to far from towns such as Gloucester & Cheltenham. The staff were very friendly and the food was lovely.
A big downside of the accommodation is the lack of airconditioning in the rooms which meant I found myself at reception at 2am looking for a fan to cool my young daughter down.
1. The Staff 2. The Breakfast... Superb
1. No Air Con 2. The noise from functions being held at the Hotel
It is a beautiful hotel and well situated.
We had lots of small niggly problems with our room:- Bulb blown in lamp, bath had no plug and the fan didnt work in the bathroom also the bathroom bin lid was broken so kept falling off. The worst issue was that it was very hot weather so we had to open the window and had a large pipe from the kitchen extractor fan right outside our window, this was very noisy and smelly. The duty manager did take £22 off my £122 bill, however all the small issues should have been dealt with prior to our stay.
Easy to find. Reasonable character hotel. Friendly staff. Spacious rooms. Comfortable (and huge) beds.
No aircon or room cooling facilties. Wedding disco noise. Restaurant more pretentious than delivered. Faulty door lock (Rm 210).
Location, grounds, bar
100 quid - no breakfast no pool
Food in restaurant was mostly excellent, dessert was left lacking a little. Bread rolls were rubbish, but that may have just been a personal taste thing, as everyone else seemed to be eating them. Bathroom was ok, much better than the rest of the room.
Room smelt terribly damp, cobwebs in the corners and felt generally very tired. Not sure where the hotel got the bedroom photos used on their website, certainly not this hotel! Bed was far too soft, even for my wife who struggles to find beds soft enough, I was laying almost on the frame and i'm not that big! Woke up with terrible back ache. No Air con in the rooms which means you have to open the windows, only directly outside are the extractors for the kitchens so kept awake by noise from them. With the reputation the hotel is trying to portray, they need to do a bit better then this.
wonderful breakfast and luxurious room
Drinking tea by the fire place, and the old building
The smell of dust and damp
quiet room (I did wonder if it would be noisy one night as there was a wedding reception on, but I could hardly hear it), good bathroom, comfortable bed, decent breakfast, used room service once and it was good and quite quick
wifi was pretty hopeless - luckily I wasn't relying on it, but it would have been nice to have had a more stable connection
