Staff and fellow quests very friendly.
3 nights of people snoring constantly. Earplugs are a must have whilst staying any hostel.
The common room and kitchen were really nice, great to just chill out. Bed was good aswell. Did like it, was only there for one night though. Came in late and left early so didn't get a chance to talk to any of the other guests, which would have been nice.
Alarms were going off in the morning, but that was nothing to do with the hostel itself.
Nice and cheap.
Had to rent towels for £2. So remember to bring your own.
Cheap. The ambient, the common places.
There were no lockers at bedrooms. The pictures were not from the bedrooms. Wifi were very bad working.
it was clean staff were friendly and approachable I would recommend it for short term tourism purposes: if you just want a cheap and safe bed for one or two nights it's fine, but it's not really suitable for business travellers or for more than a few nights - oh, and it's probably better in summer (although I doubt they have air conditioning) - so better in moderate temperatures where no climate control needed
it was cold - no heating on although summer had clearly gone the left luggage room had no lock, was some distance from reception (ie, you didn't have to get past them to get to it) and not far from the street entrance - on my first day there was one guy whose bag of clothes had gone missing from there
Meika ! - Lovely new aussie, ''the dingo ate the baby''
Leaving Meika !
214, lovely room for the price, love the free cookies and water adds a fine touch receptionists good as always, breaks a* all in all always good be back soon!
the place was brilliant it was a brilliant atmosphere and the staff where lovely, leti on reception was very friendly and very cute :) also alex was very quick to sort out any querys i had im pretty sure he was the manager there but the guy knows his stuff, the bed was comfy the breakfast was exceptional for the price it entailed all in all 10/10
my staying was too short ! Cant wait to go back
Price advertised at from £15, seemed to get the poorest accommodation but charged £73 for 3 nights
The breakfast is ok
The rooms smell so bad
usual crowd staying there
My son and I stayed in en suite twin room on a business trip. It was clean, the beds were comfortable. The bathroom was decent. A hundred yards from a lovely square with good restaurants. Great if you are a twenty something looking for cheap dormitory accommodation. Which again appeared to be clean & comfortable.
This is basically a back packers/youth hostel. The photos make it look a bright airy place but my experience was a warren of narrow dark corridors in need of tlc. The bedroom in the photos was nothing like ours, and I think they should post a more representative photo. Our furniture was ancient, scratched & falling apart, the carpet cheap & worn. The vertical blinds at the windows did not block out the street lights. It was very noisy at night. I was woken at 12am, 4am & 6am by other noisy residents and frequent loud bangs. Situated within twenty yards of a railway line on a rough street littered with broken bottles. At £45 per night I felt it was not good value for a twin room. I'd had enough after 2 nights and moved to a luxury hotel for £59 per night. There was no comparison for only £14 more. I also had to chase my refund nearly a week later for the cancelled nights.
Double room is perfect and fair enough, while 4-bed room is a disaster. location and service is great.
breakfast included is too simple and the kitchen seems to dirty and full of mass.
Staff very helpful and friendly.
Stayed in a couple of different rooms all excellent. Currently in room 207 door been kicked in holes in bathroom door blinds broken towel rail in bathroom pulled off wall and only 1 light working. This room has clearly been trashed by previous quests.
Price remains unbeatable
Shower in dorm downstairs filthy and unsafe. Brought to attention of manager who took nearly two weeks to do something about it and even then it was a makeshift job
Clean Pleasant room
Room over priced considering location Charged me twice for my booking before id even arrived. Rang me up after I had left to accuse me of stealing a pillow!
The location was excellent.
According to a fellow-traveler I managed to end up in the worst room of the entire hostel. It was very cramped, there was a colony of dust bunnies under the bed and the room to the bathroom couldn't even close, let alone be locked. This was unfortunate as it was a mixed room.
The hostel was open all night, so you could come and go as you please. The staff were very helpful and friendly. You could stay up all night watching television in the communal area or you could drink tea or coffee all night too for free. The breakfast was really good too and was included in the price. Numerous cereals, toast, jam, orange juice, teas coffees, endless. I shared a room with others but there was an ensuite shower and toilet between us and the bed itself was pretty comfortable. I had the bottom bunk. The other occupants were also very friendly and young.
I didn't like sharing a room with other people. I didn't find the communal areas very clean. i.e the kitchen and the shower and toilet.
Nice room with clean bathroom
I flew into Birmingham late and all hotels were fully booked, I just needed somewhere to rest before catching train at 6.30 next morning. I did not get any sleep due to loud snoring from other 5 occupants of the room, to be fair a member of staff came in to tell them to be quiet, but I couldn't rest in the stuffy room. I would not stay there again.
Nice Building, Good in General!
Small kitchen for the amount of users
The peacefulness and attitude of the staff
