Nothing to add other than great folk and great spirit. Its so laid back and met so many backgrounds
Room was best Ive seen in a hostel ever!
its location and free breakfast
shower was broken. no hot water in sink. no lock inside bathroom
Thought it was a little out at first but really its close and I'd say convenient to the city. Breakfast was very plentiful with great views. Excellent
Fantastic helpful staff. Excellent facilities and very clean rooms. Will definetly stay there again should a need arise.
The beds are squeaky. A bit of oil will make the overnight sleep much better instead of getting disturbed when tossing or turning ...
surprisingly just the bed room who look like you lived in the military bunk bed
shower room is horrible!!
comfortable bed for short stay and ample breakfast before leaving.
Loved that we had our own bathroom. It was nice to have cereal and toast for breakfast. Staff was super helpful!!!
You could only use wifi in public areas and it was incredibly slow. The beds were fine but you could tell it was an old spring mattress. kinda squeaky.
- no possibility to turn the lights off in the evening
Everything else was good
Bed was like something out of the Flintstones
Great facilities, internet connection and breakfast was really good. Felt like in an hotel.
Location is a little far from the city center, but served with good buses and only a 15 minute walk from the main sights.
Wifi does not work well
The 24hrs kitchen and 6-10am basic breakfast (cereals, breads. You can only check in after 2pm but you can wait in the lounge and have free coffee, tea at the self-service kitchen. Heater is working fine
It's quite far from New Street station & BullRing but very near to Snow Hill train station.
Location: a definite PLUS! Not in the city centre but very close to it, just nice for a 5-10 minute walk. Cleanliness: bed and rooms 10/10; bathrooms 9/10 due to a temporary lack of toilet paper, fixed when signalled; Bed: metallic structure but very comfortable. Slept like a baby.
Hallways: with 2 large cases, I had to pass through 4 doors to get to my room. The last one has a code and doesn't stay open, so when you return after the second case you have to input the code again.
Twin room, funky decor, great shower, clean.
Tea and coffee 2 floors up!
Me and my partner visited Birmingham for 3 days for a gig and were surprised to have the option of booking a private room in a hostel! The room was brilliant, on par with an average hotel room. The en suite bathroom was perfect, no faults at all and very clean. Heating in the room was great so I don't understand the previous complaints in reviews! (and we visited in December!) No hostel parking area but there is cheap parking at the end of the road.
Unfortunately our room was above the smoking court and due to the old factory windows we could smell the cigarettes and we did get woken up a couple times from other visiters being loud. However when we informed reception at 3.30am one morning they swiftly told them to shut up!! :) Given the horrible one way system in Birmingham we found it hard to reach the hostel first of all, Livery St is actually split in to 2 roads so we were on the wrong bit at first and so had to drive away from it to get to the other end!!
The free tea and comfortable lounge was great. Location was very good for town.
Shower in the room was only separated from the rest of the room by a curtain. No dedicated parking
The hostel was clean and felt secure.
The beds were a bit uncomfortable but ok for one night.
Staff at reception were really helpful, friendly and great craic. Definitely returning just maybe a little more sober next time!!
Very impressed, nothing to complain about..
Can't be beaten for price and considerably better than the other hostel in birmingham. Staff at reception very helpful.
some customers leave the kitchen area in a mess. Staff try their best to keep it tidy but would be much easier if people washed up after themselves
Great value, great location. Good opportunity to meet other travellers over breakfast. No fuss breakfast.
The receptionist was a little off hand. Whilst this may age related. I am older than many there. I felt she should have put more effort in her greeting skills. As some one who had never used a hostel before I felt her attitude a little off putting.
Good location and great staff
Really noisy - rooms a little dirty and not great value considering
There was a dust on the all surfaces in my room i.e. wardrobe, bedside table.
