The Birmingham Britannia Hotel is opposite Birmingham New Street Station. It offers rooms with baths and showers, Jenny’s Restaurant, where you can see the chef’s at work, and Harvey’s Bar.

The staff is helpful, easy going and welcoming. The location is very good (15 minutes on foot from city centre). The TV Room is very nice.
The Wifi is NEVER working, and when it`s working, it`s very very slow. That`s the only drawback.
The room was clean and ok.
Blinds broken, shower in my room took long to adjust to hot. Directions of hostel not easy to find.
The hostel is 10 minutes from the city center, which is very close. There are some pubs and bars near, but the hostel area is quiet, I took a nice sleep in my comfortable bed. There was a simple breakfast, which was fine concerning the amount I paid for my stay. In general, a very good hostel for its price, when I visit Birmingham again, it will be my first choice to stay.
Everything was either as expected, or better.
Friendly, helpful staff; clean, comfortable room; included breakfast in communal breakfast room and kitchen with many interesting visitors from outside the UK; close to City centre; good value for money.
Sinks blocked and no action taken when staff informed. Main lights in dormitory turned off early evening and turned on most of the night (no visible light switch).
The place is very clean which is better than other hostels offering a similar price. And I like there are private areas for each 4 beds, separated curtains for each bed and independent lamp each bed.
It would be grateful if it offered various meals.
Hatters hostel staff are not guest-friendly. At night shift working receptionist has this ''2-sec rule'', when he threatens to call police every 5 min - for using a backyard, for talking loudly outside the hostel, for walking in big groups. It felt like being in some sort of camp for soldiers or something. That made our stay not comfortable. A shame to leave a bad review, when another receptionist (latvian) and one housekeeper tried everything to make to prove the good reputation of the hostel (I had to wait for an hour to get a working shower in the morning).
Good location, clean, comfy and friendly.
Very comfy beds, big spacious rooms, plug sockets near beds, big duvet for cold nights, staff very polite - able to book taxis very quickly, people in hostel a little loud at night but they provide free earplugs, good value for money vending machine - in all, very good stay
pillow was a bit uncomfy, that's it!
The service is good.
Breakfast is so so.
Clean, friendly staff, felt safe, nice people. Quite quiet in the dormitory.
Not much info at check-in about facilities (eg. where toilets, showers, kitchen are.) Would have been better if I hadn't been put near the door to the dormitory, as I wanted to sleep and everyone else came in from partying at 2am.
Thank you so much guys for being so friendly and helpful during my stay there, especially to Luke. I really enjoyed it and it was much appreciated! :)
Cracking value for money
Awkward to find due to one way system but will know better for next time
At a reasonable price I could able to stay there for 2 nights.
Good place, social spaces were great. Rooms were big and comfortable.
The wifi didn't work (and we needed it for work) so was a frustrating part of the experience.
I booked a private room, and although it was not spacious, it was clean, had a newly renovated bathroom and felt very comfortable.
Room very clean Staff very friendly and helpful Felt safe...travelled alone with my children.
It' s a modern hostel which provides you almost everything that you need. Friendly stuff. Clean rooms.
There is nothing to say about that.
Wi-fi Connectivity is very very pour.
Staff and fellow quests very friendly.
3 nights of people snoring constantly. Earplugs are a must have whilst staying any hostel.
The common room and kitchen were really nice, great to just chill out. Bed was good aswell. Did like it, was only there for one night though. Came in late and left early so didn't get a chance to talk to any of the other guests, which would have been nice.
Alarms were going off in the morning, but that was nothing to do with the hostel itself.
Nice and cheap.
Had to rent towels for £2. So remember to bring your own.
Cheap. The ambient, the common places.
There were no lockers at bedrooms. The pictures were not from the bedrooms. Wifi were very bad working.
it was clean staff were friendly and approachable I would recommend it for short term tourism purposes: if you just want a cheap and safe bed for one or two nights it's fine, but it's not really suitable for business travellers or for more than a few nights - oh, and it's probably better in summer (although I doubt they have air conditioning) - so better in moderate temperatures where no climate control needed
it was cold - no heating on although summer had clearly gone the left luggage room had no lock, was some distance from reception (ie, you didn't have to get past them to get to it) and not far from the street entrance - on my first day there was one guy whose bag of clothes had gone missing from there
