location and staff. Simple breakfast but acceptable.
There are only four female toilets in hostel and the flushing system is really bad. There is warm to cold shower not a hot one.
Location, location, location Clean, simple, no frills Room even had a TV
Broken windows in the shower room (3rd floor) need repairing
Big, fairly comfortable rooms. Great common areas, decent breakfast, free coffee/tea all day! Great pub downstairs with excellent staff! ;)
WiFi in the rooms would be great but since there were a lot of places to hang out, it was manageable.
Quite loud, the free wi fi network doesn't work well and if you want a good connection you have yo pay.
Staff are nice and patient.
The WC is out of light and it's a little bit horrible when I first step into it. I don't have any plug to charge my phone's battery near my bed. I need to go downstairs to do so, it is a bad problem. The breakfast does not have choices, I suggest to have some all-day breakfast.
the staff are brill, they are friendly and pretty
no oven in kitchen
Location great.. very comfortable...
One day morning, when my girlfriend and I were changing clothes the two men housekeepers came in without even knocking the door. It really shocked us. How rude they are !
The atmosphere was great. The hostel has a bar, but the party there did not disturb sleeping upstairs in the room unlike in some other places where I've been to. Hostel has a luggage room if you need to check out, but have some time to wander around the city centre before leaving town. They had good WiFi and the staff were helpful, also printed out tickets without extra charge and smiles on their faces.
The toilet closest to the dorm didn't flush properly and therefore it was a bit nasty. Also, the shower rooms were not the cleanest.
Very uncomfortable beds, felt the springs of the mattress drilling into the skin. Very cold, no heating was on, blankets thin, was freezing. Shower water cold as well and more of dripping than appropriate shower. Free WiFi only in kitchen or TV rooms. High price for nothing. I've been in lots of hostel but this one is definately the worst ever!!
TBH, this might sound short but EVERYTHING.
Toilets are more old than Victorian style.
Great Location! Comfortable Bed! Bar Downstairs! Free Breakfast!
The common area and the location.
Toilet was a bit too old and very cold as well.
If you planning to crush down and leave early, prepare for no sleep at all. Party everywhere, people taking wrong beds, 2 power sockets for 4 people, cold in rooms, must everywhere. Not expected the palace, but it was just disgusting.
- Top location - Friendly staff
- Poor breakfast (only two toasters for several people, dirty cutlery and plates, only butter and one sort of jam for the toasts) - in the morning no water at the fifth floor and dirty toilets (blocked drain, sick etc.)
no hot water. noisy all night ,very small room very cold no heating
the friendliness of the staff
no lift could be used
Location, common room, free coffee, tea and chocolate. Good wifi
Beds a little squeaky and uncomfortable if you don't position yourself right.
I can meet some really nice roommate and make some new friends. In fact, I m more than satisfied with this hotel .
Their is some problem with the bathroom. Hot water is very slow and not that hot!!!
Reception staff when I checked in was nice to explain every details of my stay.
Bed cushion too soft and thin very uncomfortable. Noisy at night because of bar at the first floor. I left my bottle of medicine on the table during breakfast and no one seems to bother to look for it saying, if someone will give it to them. They were not so helpful in some ways.
not too expencive, very good location, breakfast (poor) for free
no heating in the shower and bathrooms
I like the always available tea and coffee, the basic but good breakfasts, the décor, the excellent TV room, the decently spaced dorms (some places pack punters in), the friendly and helpful staff, and the central location of the Hostel, The place is clean and the staff work hard to keep it that way. There is a good vibe most of the time. I will come again
The hefty hike in costs over the weekend. The constant blare of overloud pop music in the communal areas at most times of the day. No one is really listening and after a while the sound just becomes noise pollution. Could the music be rationed? In this respect the other Hostel in the Hilton Mansions is quieter. Drunken roomates that come into the dorm noisily at 4-6 am, switch the main light on, and show no consideration for those trying to sleep. I request that more emphasis be placed on stopping this antisocial behaviour by specifically raising it as a "no no" with everyone who registers. And by warning that offenders, if reported, will be required to leave. Get tough!
The good ambient
Nothing about it
Decent and passable, good company in the lounge, kind staff
Cleanliness to be improved, people occupying wrong beds, noises in the late evening
A lovely member of staff, cannot remember her name but she was the only one who actually showed interest in customer care.
No hot water in 3rd floor ( when i asked to turn up the boiler they promised to do so, however later it turned out that its an old problem and hot water just doesnt make it to the 3rd floor, i was lied to) Staff on the night shift does not have cuts to tell customers that other people want to sleep while they are taking drugs and drink in the dorm. There was a problem with heating, i woke up in a room that had just 15 degrees in the morning, i got a temperature of 38 next day. In the morning a member of staff informed me(he was also wearíg double hoodie) that the manager knows about the problem but doesnt do anything about it. They didnt ofcourse inform the customers and still took the money. 3rd floor shower room has the same temperature as outside, it is not possible to close the windows Toilets where dirty so were the rooms and the kitchen. I left a day before because the 15degree wake up was too much for me, when i asked for a refund i was shortly refusefld because the staff who was working did not know about the problems. Were unfriendly and didnt take the responsibility. When i asked for the manager a member of staff gave me a pieace of paper with a phone number that wasnt correct and also the email was not hes, so if u have a tent you might aswell sleep in it. Same comfort as the hostel. Very poor service..
