Being solo I enjoyed the night out with the other guest and the price of my stay allowed me extra cash to really enjoy my weekend
Was there for the united match which was my only downside for the weekend
Really helpful staff, a great atmosphere I loved the setup downstairs and in the leisure areas. Free coffee kept me going through the nights :D
Having to stop playing twister at 4 because closing the kitchen (though it is understandable)
no me gustó NADA
I was enforced to sleep with drank men who were speaking at 4 o’clock in the morning and then they were snoring heavily until 11 o’clock in the morning. I could not sleep. The bed was uncomfortable, the bathroom has not toilet paper and it is old. Too many beds in a small room. Dirty kitchen. The worst hostel I have ever been.
.Cheap, convenient, nice location. Best place for single adults.
Staff are welcoming and friendly. breakfast not bad, good location. Great value of money
The shower is cold!! This outweigh all its merits.
Good price, located within easy reach of everything I needed, free breakfast (if nothing exciting), well kept, decent place all around.
Lift was maintenance only and lots of stairs, communal changing area for the showers (individual cubicles though) and maybe slightly hard beds but not bad.
Free coffee Reasonable breakfast included Location is great! Nice buzz Events every night Good price Free Wifi in communal areas
Social hangout-area is also one of the few places with free Wifi - meaning that people will usually just stick their head to their iPhone/computer rather than engage in conversation with strangers.
Hatters Manchester is a nice place to stay for solo travelers it's in the heart of Manchester and 5 min walk from piccadelly train station and 3 min walk from bus and metrolink stations, also the staff is friendly and kind you can ask whatever you wish they guide you, the internet is good in the fist 3 floors, the kitchen is open all the day and free tea and coffee available all the day plus the free breakfast in the morning its a 8.5/10 place the price alsi is an important part there very suitable for budget limited people. the quality of beds is poor
Loved all of my experience. Met amazing people. Staff very understanding. Best time ever
A very grumpy man Tuesday night shift. No smiles or even caring . I understand it's hard but felt bad for being there.
The common room, and te general friendly, homey vibe.
Dormmate was a heavy snorer, but that's no fault of hatters.
Internet wifi, bathrooms, no plugs in the dorm.
Having to climb five flights of stairs because the lift was not insured for guests
Dirty, noisy, old
Just exactly what I asked for when I decided to book a bed here: comfortable rest, good location, a great breakfast included in the price and plenty of services (wifi, lounge, books, different activities organized by the staff itself...).
Perhaps a curfew should be established: noisy bedroom-neighbors can ruin your sleep!
NOTHING.Fortunatelly only a sat night.I felt like i was deceived because this accommodation had a much better image to Internet. The reality was very miserable.I was angry and i felt offended by the ownership because by offering such a room and shower and toilets condition does not respect their customers.IT IS the first time i go to a accomodation just went out and starting looking for another.I had found another accomodation - it was a very nice hotel -but going back to Hatters to ask my money back and live i thought that i will not refund my money so i decided not to be exposed in another hussle. I thought it is only one day to stay there so it will be pass quickly.I need to stay one day more in Manchester so the next day i stayed in a very nice and pleasant hotel with a wonderful room, perfect conditions in shower and toilets ,exactly in the same street the railway station Piccadilly was and it cost 7 pounds less per night than Hatters.Trully with the same cost of Hatters someone can have a wonderful accommodation in another place.
A very severe odor of urine outside of my room-the next door was the toilets of the men-.I did inhale so much urine smell, when i went out to the city i was feeling a strong smell of urine inside me.The womens showers and toilets were in another floor of mine.I must to transverse all this distance wrapped in a towel to go in the shower The showers were all together so it was not possible to be locked so i had nowhere to leave the towel and my underwear and the plastic card-key of my room. The shower had not taps to regulate the water temperature There was not a washbasin in the room so for those times i need water i had to go up and down the floor. The toilets were extremely dirty-the toilet paper was thrown around because the basket was full. The room was so miserable it was not renovated. If i describe all the misserable details of the room i must write 1 hour. The only positive thing in the room was that the bed was clean. I stop here because if i describe all the bad details of this accommodation i must write here for hours.
good location friendly staff free WIFI
dirty rooms dirty WC and showers berakfast is a joke: only some cheap cornflakes too many beds in a small area
poor facilities and not comfortable at all
bed room comfy, large downstairs dining/living room, upstairs tv room and upstairs kitchen- staff all helpful- I liked the old touches - the ancient loos (in one bathroom- rest are modern) and the old lift feature, - I have already recommended this place and will stay in the others in Birmingham and Liverpool,
I am lactose/ gluten/soya intolerant- so did not avail of the breakfast- I brought my own-you don't have to have 'free from ' food on menu all the time- BUT could keep some packets of rice milk and gluten free cereals and bread on hand to open as needed for people like me- Many more people need these foods these days and they are not that dear- that would certainly b a selling point for hostel- OK I got the stuff I needed from Tesco round the corner, still would have been nice to have free from foods provided by hostel( I know they are pricier- but available to those who asked for them- they needn't be on the counter every day ) also maybe stock up on free maps on Manchester
Staff always friendly and welcoming, can't praise them enough. Even got a bottom bunk this time round! Love the option of being able to have a cup of tea 24 hours as well.
The mattress was like a plank of wood and it curved upwards whenever I moved on it - there was no way to get comfy on it. Hopefully this was just one dodgy mattress though as when I've stayed at Hatters in the past, this hasn't really been a problem.
The staff there are absolutely lovely and bring everyone together and they make a nice atmosphere for you. The breakfast also has a good range to choose from.
One of the night time staff members is a horror. He's like hitter the party pooper
I liked the location in the northern quarter. It was really close to lots of attractions, cafés / bars and transport links.
My bed was absolutely terrible. I was on a top bunk and the mattress felt like it was all springs so I had to lie on my back as lying on my side meant that they jagged into my side. The window also had to be left open because it was so hot and the street outside was very loud and busy. There was also some very old, broken Venetian blinds on the window that meant as soon as the sun came up light streamed into the room. Needless to say I did not sleep at all!
Dirty toilet and noisy
The staff were very friendly and helpful. Hatter's is just the kind of place you need when your having a night out in Manchester.
Atmosphere was friendly and safe. The building had real character and information in the ground floor superb to help you plan your stay. Staff were excellent.
Very noisy through the night with neighbouring rooms guests arriving back in after 3am. To be expected on a weekend though. No lift for guest use.
