Atmosphere, Building, Friendliness and helpfulness of staff and other guests. Comfort of bed.
basic room but was good value
Staff was very friendly and helpful, common areas were clean and comfortable, great price for the location, comfy room.
The room was too cold. I called the front desk to ask if the radiators worked, and they said just make sure its turned to 5, and the heat will turn on at a specified time. It seemed like they never turned on in the 3 days I was there. The bathroom was especially freezing. But, once in bed, the blankets were warm enough that I didn't really mind it. Overall, a minor issue.
good location with laundry, kitchen and resting area
wifi is too slow and keep on disconnected every 15 minutes
Noisy at the night, the heating does not work and nohit water in the room.
Nice Staff, comfy beds, very clean bathrooms, good breakfast
checkout time is 11
Nice location. Good price. The refectory with free tea and coffee all day long is ok (a bit too dark, though). And the design is ok.
The room was way too cold! On 5th floor, the window near the lift has holes all around the frame, you can feel the air from outside coming in. I just don't begin to understand why they don't fix this? May be it doesn't matter much in summer, but in December, it definitely does.
Location Friendly staff
Very expensive Old rooms (pictures on the website were misleading) Cold rooms heating was very rarely on
Location is great. Everything was how I expect.
Wi-Fi only worked in bar and around the reception. Little bit too moist and small room.
Buffet breakfast is better than most
very handy for town
Location and staff.
Just painted our room so the room smelt strongly of paint for days. People were up all night I'm the corridor and we could hear the entire conversation.
The beds were excellent :-)
No kettle in the room (only fault I could find)
The building is beautiful and a bit quirky and in a very good location for some of the major interesting sights in Liverpool. There was plenty to eat at breakfast time and the dining room was very nice.
The heating does not come on till 8pm in the evening so on returning from your day out you have to huddle in your room trying to keep warm between the hours of 5 and 8 then you go out when it comes on! Not very logical and a bit mean I thought. There was a lot of noise from other residents on the first night we were there.
Breakfast and storage for my bike
Lighting a bit dark
I liked the entrance, it is close to University of Liverpool and the main train station.
It was not that clean (look at the ceilings and floors of the bedrooms). I stayed in a shared room, and our room had a leackage frim the restroom above... It lasted my whole stay!
It was old and not comfy.
Location is really good close to the city center & the train stations and there is a cheap, excellent quality restaurant just across the road!
We're a young couple decided to chose this hostel over a 4* hotel as we are very much enjoy the company of young people from all over them world! BUT it was a pricey mistake! Heating supposed to come up at 5 o'clock but it only turned on at 8 o'clock after complaining 3 times on day one and once on day two! So the room was freezing during the day! Furthermore, the room smelled like an old house which was recently cleaned with way too much cleaning products! I even had to was the clothes I didn't even used! Over all it was a bad experience!
Value for money (I paid 150 GBP for a very noisy room with poor facilities)
I liked everything about the hostel, very good location an great for the price, will definitely be back to stay
Awesome place to check out the city. This place has a real travel vibe. Warm in these dark cold months too
Location and staff
Breakfast, but common... for the price you pay it is complimentary ...
Close to Lime Street Station Staff was friendly and helpful It was great having use of a kitchen. I had a single room, my first time in a hostel, it was comfortable. Love the cat!
the overhead light was controlled by a motion detector with a bright green light that I could not shut off. Could only find one spoon to use in kitchen, and a small pan
I liked the reception area and the bar was very good! The Staff were helpful and friendly.
The room was very poor, very basic and shabby, the plug on the wall didn't work and it smelled heavily of chlorine...i was very disappointed and i think it was expensive for what we got.
The location in Liverpool The breakfast, but the tables were sticky
You come in the corridor that leads to your room and you think you come in a swimmingpool and in the room the smell(stench) of chlorine is almost unbearable. The heating is almost never on and we were feeling cold. And for this price you can leave clean towels everyday. Also we almost didn't sleep the night from friday cause there was a row going on with a drunken bunch, slamming doors, fighting, yelling, phoning in the corridor and so on until almost 5 o'clock in the morning. We were even thinking about asking a refund, but we were to much in a hurry to catch a plane. Conclusion:Such a bad experience never again
The shabbiness and dirtiness of the establishment. Pictures on the web page give a far better image of the place than is actually the case. £90 per night for two of us. We could have gone to a hotel for this amount of money. When advising the staff of this we were told that the prices are always this high At weekends because they know people will pay this amount. Disgraceful.
