room was a bit cramped but we were 3 blokes, so was expected
Location, friendly staff,
Cold room as the heaters didn't work.
It was my first trip alone sleeping in hostel. It's been a great experience: I slept in a 4 beds room with different people almost every night and it's been funny. The hostel is in the heart of Liverpool, the breakfast room is wonderful and the food is good; then the the staff is always ready to help you. Well done!
Simple fast breakfast
We liked the location of the hotel, in the heart of Liverpool. We had 2 days there and we visited all the city walking, everything is rather close to the center, very good location.
There are many drawbacks to this hotel, the main one is the sleep quality. The firts night, some people were speaking in the corridor next to our room, at 4 am it's very anoying. The room wasn't heated, or just a little and we were a bit cold, it's a bit old and a bit dirty (walls etc.). So if you find something better in price, do not hesitate.
Hatters have good location, even Liverpool is not such a big to be far away from something.
Its hostel, you must not wait more from it. room is not big, bathroom is big. they are not cleaning rooms, I was their 3 days. breakfast is very poor, it looks poor like noone cleans tables after guest for others.
Size of room
Complimentary breakfast. Friendly reception upon arrival. Informative and helpful tourist advice from staff. Comfortable bed. I felt safe and secure. Being in my early 40's it was comforting to see guests of all ages enjoying this Hostel.
Strong mouldy odour in room, carpet was sticky and dirty. Shower was not high pressure.
Free tea and coffee facilities available all day, clean bathrooms, cozy nostalgic looking bar and breakfast area. Great location, friendly guests, safe feel, and nice staff.
I thought the free breakfast could have included fried food.
Spacious toilet area. Comfortable bed, toilet working well, good supply of toilet paper, breakfast ok even though free
Stuffy room, too little water from shower, water too hot at times, lift quite small & spooky,
not very much other than proximity to Liverpool uni but will stay elsewhere next time
Not a hotel but hostel charging hotel prices for ensuite rooms. Don't expect to sleep at Hatters with drunken guests returning until early hours - shouting; banging on doors; abusive language; night porter having furious argument with drunk outside my room. Dirty rag instead of curtain (had to hang blanket to keep out light). Used cotton buds in bathroom. Undrinkable coffee for breakfast. Could have gone to decent chain hotel for the price (puts you off trying independent hotels).
Great facilities, clean & tidy. Helpful staff & friendly. Would stay again. Great value for money.
Beautiful building Well located Cheap Good value for money Helpful staff
Need some maintenance in the room ( a coat of pain, sail of windows, etc.)
Large clean bathroom Comfortable beds Heater works well Laudry facility More items on breakfast than in most places Beautiful historic building Large locked up storage area
Wall to thin Very noisy Carpet dirty Dark kitchen in basement Wifi works poorly and not available in rooms Pubcrawl leader abandoned us halfway and we did not know how to get back
Relaxing atmosphere; Friendly staff; Very good value for money
Pillows are too thin to sleep on.
Location was great from train station, staff very friendly and helpful.
Location breakfast / porridge Room
Loud groups of men/boys coming home from Pub at 4am & running wild in the hallway for 3 nights!!! The rules of hostel mentions "no noise" and night porter. There was NEVER a night porter around at 4am to stop the men.
the fact that staff did not tell the truth before I made my booking.
kind staff in reception the room is very clean, the breakfirt is very good, a lot of charge device in the room. anyway i'm really very satisfied and will recommend this hostel to my fiends for sure
Location Price Atmosphere
carpet smell bad in the hallway
Everything about this place is fantastic it's exactly how a hostel should be
Showers were terrible. Was more like mist just touching you rather then actual water drops ..... But that's the only downfall to this amazing place
5 min walk to city center, not so noisy as the hostels in the center of the town, managed to get a good night sleep, decent breakfast, a lot of things to do, people to meet.
no internet connection in the room, gets pretty expensive during the weekend
Nice bathroom. Free breakfast. Helpful staff when wifi did not work. Good location
The room is too small. The shower head is difficult to use.
